  1. Dfi itely have to wade if by yourself. Were the staggered barricades still there.
  2. I am not sure on the state park. Doubt if the courtesy dock is available though.
  3. What area. Majority of the main public ramps are useable. Might have to get your feet wet though because of the slope.
  4. The crappie fishing this fall should be phenomenal.
  5. I almost bit my phone screen myself.
  6. MoCarp you are dead to me now! 😲
  7. To be fair every lake he passed within 100 miles of is currently flooded I think. Arizona has some nice vacation spots.
  8. 93 flood was in late September. The rain systems have just been on Parade across the osage basin lakes, all if them. And also in Oklahoma and dang near every other system from KC to the gulf. Gonna take a while to get all that water back to the ocean . This time around is making things tough on local businesses. Everyone from marinas, gas stations, resturant etc. Feels the loss of revenue.

    What's Cooking?

I havent had a muffaletta in years, love them. Gotta have the juice soaking into the bread for me.
  10. Maybe it's a good thing, like rotational grazing for cattle.
  11. That joke is lost on me, I occasionally watch a MLF episode for a little bit, I never know their names and all I can think about is how much that would take the fun out of fishing for me. Others love the competition I just am not one of them.
  12. I am used to referring to lakes in a drainage basin. When you get to things like the Missouri River drainage basin we refer to some of them as "main stem" lakes, which is exactly what it sounds like.
  13. Yep I have a few of the plastic welding rod boxes. But my boat don't go fast enough to make a rooster tail and the tiny little transducer I have isn't a problem. As long as what you made works it is good.
  14. It's been a good year for roses, I have some almost 20 years old that are the most neglected things alive and every year they bloom. Moms peony bush is still doing fine after almost 40 years.
  15. Sorry Old Plug but Pomme, Stockton in MO and Melvern, Pomona and Hillsdale in Kansas are part of the Osage River chain, basin. Find a farm pond bigger than Pomme and I will include it also.
  16. I have eaten a bunch of them in my life. They are quite tasty. They have been the basis for many a gravel bar fish fry on float trips.
  17. One of my favorites. Just thinking of the amount of time I spent as a kid catching "black perch" brings a smile. And a desire to go catch some more.
  18. You guys are NOT helping my positive outlook.😲
  19. Cal, I reject your forecast and replace it with my own, sunny, windy and dry. 😎 Have seen some of those forecasts, will just have to see what happens.
  20. If you go up lake from there you will quickly find a lot of floating debris. Not enough wind to pile it up anywhere and sine lake isn't dropping it can't ground out anywhere yet. Everyone just keep eyes open and be expecting to encounter the big floaters. It's the ones you barely see that can get ugly fast.
  21. I had to go dig out the list of lakes that comprise the Osage River Basin. Kansas: Melvern, Pomona, Hillsdale. Missouri: Pomme de Terre, Stockton, Harry S. Truman, and Lake of the Ozarks.
  22. I took my CBD oil so I am working at at least 50%. 🤗
  23. The long term forecast is encouraging, barring any serious precipitation events. Pomme, by regulation must be "in balance" with Truman. Currently Truman is roughly 45-50% of its rated flood storage capacity. Pomme is roughly 25%, so until Truman drops down to about 723 Pomme is restricted to minimum outflow of 50 CFS. Right now looking like maybe middle of next week before that happens and Pomme can again begin releasing. Truman is running turbines and some through the gates so hopefully they will be starting down. Holiday weekend, Pomme will still be well above the spring time target of 841. Currently Pomme is something like 850.7 or so, with only a few campsites flooded, however the beaches are underwater a,d most boat ramps while useable have issues such as a reduced maneuver area and courtesy docks un-useable.
  24. Yest it is. Pomme de Terre is part of the Osage basin.
  25. OK the article actually answered my question. Since the state doesn't keep lake records how do we know it is. But what it is, is a State Record, which is cool, and by default would have to be a lake record as well.
