    Thanks to Smalliebigs and Gavin I've been enjoying bass fishing more and more and haven't been trout fishing lately. However, I think it is time to get back to my roots and catch some of those monster BSC five inchers. So for your Bourbon locals, how is the creek doing (in general terms)? I haven't been in more then a year. I was going to come down this weekend, but didn't want to drive two hours to find it blown out. Home alone with the daughter next weekend, so it will be awhile before I can get down. Send me a PM if there are any new holes I should look for.

    WOW.... I'm curious to see if it comes back. I would think not, probably the smell of the deer brought it in to the yard.

    That is a good way to get shot in that neck of the woods.

    I would agree with you, but I've walked that area more than once trying to find that little hole of good fishing. I don't think there are many fishing holding areas there, and accordingly fish. I think the area is to shallow. With that said, I'm not a biologist and could be completely wrong.

    Try Meramec in the off season. Completely different place.

    I can't make it down... but could someone bring up: I would like them to do something to improve the lower water in section 3 between the last "hole" and the bridge. There is a lot of stream there that is just full of grass. The need to narrow it or something. Seems like a lot of wasted steam.

    Good call... I'll have to try both. Headed to Meramec Springs in a couple of weeks. Let you know. Although as heavy as it is, it will be perfect for the big holes at Bennett Springs.

    One thing I would like to get into is hunting for mushrooms. I found this cool video. If you have woodland on your property, find a down hardwood and grow your own. I thought it was pretty cool. The only thing I didn't see is if it is a one time deal or they grow back. Quick change of subject... anyone know of a "mushroom club" in the Ozarks. Supposed to be a good (safer) way to learn the different mushrooms.
