We are in the process of downsizing and I have a slew of magazines that I'll give away. The only rub is that you will have to pick them up as they would be too expensive to ship. I have the following: Flyfisherman from 1972 to 2020-about 300 magazines American Angler from 1996 to 2018-about 120 magazines Flyrod and Reel from 1990 to 2010- about 80 magazines Flyfishing and Tying from 1996 to 2022-about 100 magazines All are in labeled magazine holders. I live in Mexico,MO If interested, PM me and we can schedule a time for pick up. All magazines are in very good condition. I hate to just to throw them away. There is some good reading there. Dave

They used to mail out a pretty big ad circular on it. You might contact them. May be online now. I haven't got one yet but remember getting them in the past

Anybody else having trouble viewing the trout cam? For quite some time now all I get is a black screen with a rotating circle-no picture.

Congrats Charlie. You'll have to frame that tag.

I just watched that video. With all those live ones to gorge on, why would a trout pick out my fly to eat?

Those are some neat pictures. Looks like you had a great outing.

"One more cast" paid off-big time. Nice catch.

Not just Perry. Blackjack Marina had a million dollar damage. Someone said both sides of the slip areas were torn away. Apparently most all of the campgrounds are temporarily closed for clean up.

Saw an obit in the St Louis Post this morning with a picture of a guy holding a large bass. Turned out it was the obit of Tim Renken, the former outdoor editor of the St Louis Post. The guy led a very interesting life. Apparently the Post sent him and his family on a lot of trips such as one month trips to several of the National Parks to do stories on them. He was 83 years old. I remember meeting him one morning at MTL as we were both launching our boats.

Anyone made a trip this year?

I know I don't make a huge number of posts but with over 400 posts I think I deserve a little classier title than "Hornyhead Chub" -

They say there are three stages of fishing: 1) Catch a lot of fish 2)Catch a big fish 3) Just enjoy going fishing Maybe they are trying to push everyone into stage three! -
For all you camera buffs out there, are there that much differences between the iphone 11, 12, and 12PRO to justify the extra costs? I'm fixing to move up from my current iphone 6 and can't really see that there is that much advantage to get a 12 or 12pro to justify the higher cost versus the 11. Getting 5G, an A14 chip, oled display versus the iphone 11 isn't that big a deal for me so it kind of boils down to camera differences and as I am just an amateur photographer I'm not convinced that that is even worth the extra money. Would appreciate any thoughts. One final thing-due to my age this may very well be the last phone I ever buy so just maybe I should go with the latest technology.

Not that I know of.

Thanks Ham. Yea I pretty much expected the shipping costs to be kind of high which was why I priced them that high. If anyone wants to pick them up in person I'd take $30. I live in Mexico but go to Columbia pretty frequently so could meet up there sometime.

It's time to get rid of some of the tons of fishing stuff I've accumulated over the years. First up is a lot of unopened packages of plastic worms, crawdads and lizards. There are 20 packages total. Brands include Gary Yamamoto, Berkley Gulp and Berkley power bait, Zoom, Seaside, Gene Larew, and Riverside. Photos show all in one photo and closeup shots. Asking $45 shipped. PM if interested. Check or M.O. ok. I don't use Paypal

When I go through Lebanon on my way to Arkansas I sometimes stop at the newspaper office (they print it) and pick up a copy. Its on the corner of Commercial and Hiway 5. -
1080’s Bennett Spring mailed newsletter

It was probably "Trout Talk". It's still published by the local newspaper and can be picked up at several places for free. You can also subscribe by mail. It's published monthly during the regular season. Typically ran around 8 to 10 pages. Used to be an interesting read but has kind of gone downhill (in my opinion) in recent years. -
Cork handles on fishing rods
dave potts replied to Will S.'s topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I used to have a jon boat that I kept in a slip at a clay pit lake. One day I decided if one of those would clean the dried pond scum off of it. Took it right off. Had to use several pads but they worked beautifully. Been using it on cork rod handles for years. Wonder how they would do on dirty fly lines? Anybody ever try them? -
I'm starting to miss my 1983 Charger 747 XLT. I bought it slightly used in 1986 and used it every year up till last year when I decided to get rid of it. Getting old and with a lot of lower back problems I was getting a little leery trying to launch it and getting it back on the trailer not to mention falling out of it. It had a 115hp Merc on it and I had very few problems problems with it over the years. Here's a couple of pictures of it taken only a couple years before I sold it.

I heard the Russians were behind the attack and were wanting ten million dollars to get their data back.

Looking to re-power my Bass Tracker

My guess is that it will push it very fast but probably not in the direction you want to go. -
If the crappie are on the banks (and they should be next week) it will still be crowded. I can almost guarantee you it will be muddy. Rain is forecast for the next week or so. See southforkresort.org for up to date info on the lake conditions.

I'd go used, especially given the current bad economy. I imagine there are, and will be, a lot of good buys. In 1986 I bought a 3 year old Charger bass boat and got it for 40% less than it sold for new. I used it every year for 34 years and had very little problems with it. It had the old 115 Mercury on it. New boats are like new cars-they depreciate like crazy in the first year or two.
