  1. I just suck at sight fishing unless one is dumb enough to stay on the bed while I am fishing down a bank.
  2. Saw those 350's too! They didn't pass us, they kept their cats caged up!
  3. None taken, I took a nap when we went past the mouth of theodosha it was a smooth ride after that, we had several boats white knucklin past us going 75- 80 mph.
  4. It takes 40 minutes going 69mph to the mouth of elbow creek, we caught 4 keepers for 12.79. Had been fishing down there the past 4 weekends with 8-9 keepers each trip with a couple of 4+ lbers each time. We were on prespawn crankbaits fish that had been biting from 11-400. Afternoon bite, we had to weigh in at 140 and 240. We caught all our fish at 1130-200 and left them biting we couldn't figure out anything in the mornings and that is what hurt us. Had a blast though. The lake is fishing great in my opinion and it will show this week too.
  5. Sweet!
  6. Most of the top bags in tournaments range from 4lb average to 3.5 with a six pounder. Normally around 20-22lbs, with the right conditions and baits several of those bags will show up even into the upper 20's, during the spawn, 17-19lbs with the occasional 20+ being caught sight fishing. Post spawn, 15lbs is a solid bag of fish. Its hard to determine the averages due to having 3 3lbers, 4lber, then 5lber= 18+lbs. or anything in beween and then having a 7lb kicker or bigger. On average for me anytime you hit the teens is better than average. Clear as mud!
  7. I heard 4 of them around lead hill on sunday.
  8. I don't know how I got a 50 lber in one night up kings river on a jig, it was a rush for 15 minutes.
  9. Thanks guys.
  10. It looks good with the weight that we had but it was grind all day, you had to stay with it and you would get a good bite. Total number of bites we had was 8-9 bites.
  11. Fished big bass Saturday caught 4 solid keepers nothing over 3.15lbs. At the end of the day at 230 pulled into an area around PT 5 and had a hard pulling fish come off at the boat. Wt: 52ish Sunday club fished out of Lead Hill, Fisherman's son was my partner and we caught 6 keepers at over 18 lbs and he won big fish at 4.92 lbs. Wt 52-54
  12. Don't believe the dogwoods are blooming, alot of the white trees are the "pear trees"
  13. James Miles caught a 40-50 lb striper up the white a few years back on an A-rig.
  14. I am sure they will wash and clean their boats everyday before and after practice TOO!!!
  15. No arigs, still a 7lber will be weighed.
  16. With decent night temps in the upper 40's-50's there would be a great chance for a night bite. Especially around the moon phases.
  17. Yep!!! Its going to get good. I was fishing to much ahead of where the fish are coming to yesterday.
  18. 7.94 was big fish also.
  19. One word, MARCH!
  20. They were entertained and awaiting walleye fillets. Tournament today was tough boated several fish but only had 4 keepers for 9lbs, partner caught 3 of them. Mostly jerkbait fish with one keeper coming off a wart.
  21. We vote where we are going to put in the morning
  22. Fished kings river 11-445 today and caught everything all on a jerkbait. Bass, crappie, and even a Mr Babler special of an 19in Walter perfect for the frying pan. Wt, 46-47, good water color 4-5 ft visibility. Have a club tournament tomorrow see where we will go will post tomorrow. Best part was getting to fish with the family.
  23. Fishing your strength's is a loaded phrase, for instance if you are a shallow fisherman like me you can tell how the fishing is going to be by the first bite you get. If you are beating the banks with say a topwater that you are reeling and the fish doesn't move on it to much or barely mouths it you need to throw a slower topwater like a frog or pop'r. Just like deep fish will tell you if they want to eat a crankbait or just bump it and you come back with a jig or something slower and you start hooking up better. The fish are there we as fisherman need to make the adjustment to change there mood instead of force feeding them. Also, sometimes they just don't bite!
  24. Agreed on more colors with orange and red in them. At least have some with bright colors for when the lake dirties up like this year.
  25. Green Phantom-no sound, the others that I have a nice knock to them.
