  1. Don't start with me!
  2. Glad I don't like candy.
  3. Boy, you just gave yourself away! ANYBODY that knows ANYTHING knows that a golf "clicker" won't work for counting fish anymore than a fishing "clicker" will work for counting golf strokes. Geeez. Some people.

Figures. I finally get old enough to retire and the entire world goes to a half day work week! Well, except for you guys that really DO still work your azzes off. Unfortunately, there's apparently not enough of you anymore to make a discernible difference!
  5. Man, way to go guys. I'm beyond jealous not only of the fishing success but just the great day and time spent on the water. This time of the year it always seems like spring's never gonna get here but then it's gone in a flash and we're griping about the heat, the humidity and all the dang boat traffic. Getting in a few "bonus" days in February serves to kind of extend that period that we all crave and cherish so much. Good for you!
  6. Yeah, I saw somewhere that there's like 40 huge pro ams and six person scramble tournaments this weekend from Bella Vista all the way over to east of Forsythe and north to Springfield! Double shotguns to boot.
  7. Even if I never use em' mine are on the way! Wouldn't be the first fishing related purchase I've made that never even got taken out of the package. But, just like all those many failed acquisitions I can't wait to get em'!
  8. Ben, I thought of you when I first saw this post and immediately went to the Anglerspy website to make sure that you were still up and running. Takes a lot of the guesswork out of it all for me and I continue to be most appreciative of your efforts on our behalf!
  9. To paraphrase Mr. Babler, I guess I'm just not that mad at em'!
  10. Who the heck installs those things on a daily basis at the factory? They must have hands and fingers that look like Bronco Nagurski's.
  11. Holy cats, now I don't know if I've been using inferior tools or if I'm just the most inferior manipulator of said tools in the entire history of tool manipulating. Thanks for that. At least I now have a much better idea of how I'm SUPPOSED to be doing it.
  12. No - thank YOU! I will be sure and check it out. I feel like I just learned a whole bunch of stuff that I didn't previously know or had even remotely considered but now I'm completely overwhelmed by the volume of the information presented and can't figure out how to process it all. Congratulations on a fantastic trip but, again, thanks for sharing in such great detail.
  13. Ever feel like a paper airplane pilot when you just met the captain of the Space Shuttle? Wow. No wonder I never catch anything! Thanks for the most comprehensive editorial I've ever seen regarding crappie fishing. That would make for an amazing youtube video. I can't even begin to visualize the operation in action.
  14. No kidding. I'm canceling my subscription to the Farmer's Almanac. They predicted the COLDEST February in North American HISTORY for cryin' out loud. I guess Caleb's calculations don't compute with global warming.
  15. Good Lord, I couldn't produce a stringer like that with depth charges!
  16. SEE! Jayhawks CAN catch fish! Even in Missouri! Good goin' guys.
  17. Well, as a former "analyst" I'll tell you what everybody already knows and that's that ANY data regardless of accuracy or significance can easily be spun to mean a wide ranging variety of things. In fact, in all my years doing this kind of stuff (not fishery related stuff but "analyzing" data for the government) I don't remember EVER not being told prior to studying and reporting what the intended or desired outcome was to be. You wanna get in trouble in a hurry? Conduct some sort of "independent" analysis without a predetermined outcome. Now, I'm not saying that these guys are doing that just that it's more common than not. But perhaps more importantly it's all very easy to do and can be done in such a way that no one can ever really question the outcomes based on the presented data. And as in this case, the "presented data" is almost always the only data available. You're pretty much just constantly trying to punch holes in a ghost. That's why so many studies defy even the most rudimentary level of common sense and although most everyone knows that they're way wrong and screams bloody murder but the presenting "authority" can just stand behind the "facts" and shrug their shoulders. Kinda like public surveys and political exit polls - can anyone say "Trump"? And, it all pays the same!
  18. Man, you guys and this site are the greatest! I bet I've gone thru about 50 of these dang things over the years and NONE of them work for me. Now, granted, I'm un-athletic, uncoordinated and prone to shaking like a leaf in a cyclone on non beer days but I all but gave up on even messing with changing split rings as I got tired of torn nails and bloody fingers. THESE babies are now on order!
  19. I think it was a stretch for them to just move the report from Fridays to Thursdays after only about twenty years (or more) of subscribers requesting it. Lots of lake travelers are on the road on Friday's and are headed out before the paper shows up so at least that was a plus. I can't say that I really knew Brent Frazee although I met him a few times and actually called him at the Star at least a dozen others to talk about trips he'd recently taken to lakes I was visiting. Really a great guy who'd talk your ear off about fishing while really trying to help you out with detailed information. I, for one, really miss the guy. If I could I'd only subscribe to the sports page. The rest is just added weight to the trash every Tuesday. Keep up the great work Bill. You're the greatest (and I don't care what James keeps saying).
  20. Man! Could use that baby in the fall to clean gutters when you're done fishing!
  21. Yep, as another subscriber, the Star's reports are pretty lame. At least since Brent Frazee left anyways. Too bad, too, I used to look forward to the Sunday features. Not sure who's filling in but it's lacking for sure at the moment at least.
  22. No sir! I don't know what happened! Honest.
  23. I did not do that! Somebody must have hijacked my account! Dad gum it anyway.
  24. OK but where's your putter go?
  25. The warranty was huge for me. I was initially drawn by the novelty of the appearance and then after further review the technology really peaked my interest as I thought the ideas of no break in, integrated power steering, push button hot foot/hand throttle operation, auto tilt and trim, etc. was kind of cool and certainly innovative. Then the performance features like oil consumption, fuel efficiency, torque and the rest of the stuff that I really don't understand really stood out (to me anyway). Then, after all my Merc acquaintances beat me over the head with the stupid stick I thought back to all of the problems that they'd had with theirs. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that they way they treat their equipment was 99% of the reason for the problems but there were problems nonetheless and not cheap problems either. Whereas I've owned 12 outboards manufactured by each of the "Big 3" and have literally never had an engine in for repair. Not once. Routine maintenance only. So that told me that operator error was at least somewhat significant in the overall performance and reliability of an outboard. After again considering that the G2 had all the cool stuff that I found so intriguing, a 7 year warranty and the service center is ten minutes from my house I decided to completely disregard their "advice". And, "Whoolah" next thing I knew I had a G2. Of course after saying all of that, I recently DID have the FIRST motor malfunction of my life as the power trim had to be replaced! Guys at the shop said it was 5K worth of warranty work as they replaced the entire mid section. Anyways, hopefully, that's the end of it and at least I know that there's not much that I could have done personally to abuse the trim so MY record's clean even if the motor's is not. And, all of the other stuff has been as good as I hoped so I'm more than satisfied thus far. And it still looks cool!
