  1. I got out about 1 yesterday afternoon wasn't on fire but steady. Sun was out ,caught them on underspin near the bottom and chatterbait. Small front came through around 4 ,clouds and cooled down and it just shut off. Nothing till 6 when I quit. Caught a couple of my fish right near where a heron was on the shore doing it's own fishing.
  2. 74 for April I counted from fishinwrench link
  3. This is a gen1 Helix 7 with 2D /DI /SI and GPS. Is not chirp works well includes transom mount transducer. I have a ram mount with it which I will sell seperately if wanted. $275
  4. I hit them there last year following your lead. Caught a limit of big ones with the a rig. Threw everything at them just to see if they would bite and they didn't, only the a rig. Fished at Stockton about 3 weeks ago. After a long morning with only slight success and went by with my graph and saw nothing. Remembering the arcs I saw last year I didn't even give it a try
  5. I started the livewell filling saying I'd like a dozen or so. Marty then decides he could take home 5 for dinner. After getting "our quota" Marty brings in a nice sow and says this one is too good to throw back so in the livewell it goes. A minute later another is tossed in and then another. at the end I threw 8 in his cooler and I had 18, a bit of work ahead but nothing like some of the folks down there that appreciate the limit taken off the whites. No filleted drum or buffalo though. Marty didn't mention the snaggers that were out in full force complete with outfits and boats that would rival any walmart photo.
  6. I haven't been down in a while to know what it was like but the james near anut creek had about a foot of visibility.Aunts Creek was brown. Lots of small floating debris around.
  7. good job. I went out of aunt creek ,similar color water in the branch less so out on the main channel. no love foro me though, one short but chunky LM. Threw crankbait most the day tried a jig and swimbait some.
  8. Didnt see any worms squirming in my Cerviche but doused it in hot sauce just in case.
  9. after seeing the water temps go back into the mid 40s' after last weeks drop into the 20's I started watching the lows in temp not just the highs. Sunday night not too bad and forecasted into low 60's for Miami, (not FL) I decided to head that way. Alittle over an hour and a half so not real far but further than Little sac and Galena by a far shot. Planned on going up the Neosho since I didn't have my jet boat available to pass some of the shoals on the upper Spring, (BH declined an early maorning invite). Got there everyone said it had been happenng up the Spring just a short ways up. Headed upstream found a small collection of boats just above where the channel split. People fishing didn't see any catching so I thougth I'd wake them up with the A-rig. Thought I felt a hit or 2 but nothing to show. Went to the flicker shad no luck again. Plenty of fish on the graph so got on top of them and tried some video fishing. After a few attempts bingo. Well bingo but no exclaimation point, 3" would be stretching it. Moved upstream finally caught a big female on the FS. I kept switching around hoping something would click. When you see that many targets below you it makes it hard to stay with anything very long without a payout. Finally got out the long rod thinking slow and small. Chartruese/white and purple and gray clousers didn't do it. Ended up with 9 total keeping 6, 4 females in the bunch. WT was steady at 55 till I left around 2 Weather only got colder as the day went on.
  10. DO you paddle up from Greenfield access or put in by 160 brigde?? Strong arms if you go from Greenfield

    What's Cooking?

Hunted the last few hours of the last day of goose season up near Schell, came away with 2 birds. Planning on 4 breast halves for Spickgans unfortunately one bird would not pluck just tore the skin away and the other took several hits to the breast. Thawed out another skinned breast and with the aid of some donor skin,(bacon) salt cured and smoked the breast. Delicious stuff maybe not as pretty as Billethead would prepare but goooood. Wanted to try and do something different with it other than just slice and eat . a good friend has a woodburning pizza oven and invited me over for a pizza party so I thouoght I'd try something with the goose. Very simple he had the pizza crust already. I just spread on a thin layer of hoisin sauce laid on the goose and covered with chees and cut green onions. The oven was very hot so the pizzas would cook in about one minute My poor goose took it in the breast ,haven't learned to shoot them in the face like Marty. Preety good, first one I was alittle heavy on the hoisin need just a thin spare covering on the crust. I didn't have it but some red chili garlic sauce or sriracha sauce might be good
  14. i made my deposit so looking forward to fishing with you all
  15. also can you pass through at highway 10 so putting in at twin bridges is an option?
  16. is that park access just above I-44 onthe east side of the river?
  17. Heard they were redoing the highway 10 bridge over the spring river and therefore the ramp is not accessible. Is that true ,lif so is there access up stream of that so the upper Spring can be accessed with a jet boat?
  18. is this 2018 or 2019?
  19. Good job
  20. Fished with Bill several times. Always a pleasure to be on the water with him, a true table rock legend.
  21. Saw some surface activity the other morning but it was just gar:(
  22. That's it I started with a baby brush hog but I only had a couple went to a tube but more of a pumpkin orange then to the craw tube
  23. dtrs5kprs your'e right about those brown fish. My hardest pull came from a 16"er, thought I had a real kicker for the bag
  24. Remember that episode from Seinfled where George Does the opposite of what he thinks is right and everything works out for him. That was me today. My typical TR day is usually down by the dam throwing ned rig and getting numbers but lacking quallity. Not today, I headed for Mill Creek got there alittle before 6:00. BB, not Bill Babler was putting in with some clients. Said hi and he gave me some advice. Not today I'm doing opposite. Headed out and hit the brush. Threw baby brush hog initially and came up with a few smallies , one measured. Stayed with flipping and it turned on around 9:30. First LM measured 19" lacked in girth though. Hooked another and 2 other big bass chased him to the boat as I pulled him to the surface. I threw back and caught a nice K.Bite seem to die around noon but I a 22 total with 8 keepers 5 best were 13lbs.
  25. How did you see fish in stained water 20 ft down HA. Seriously I think both sides are similar. We caught walleye last week on big sac arm. We couldn't see them though
