  1. Good for you and glad you are on the mend!
  2. Ha! Needs to be a short catchy acronym, will go with BDS (Bass Delivery Service). Mr. Morris might go all in.
  3. Usually a bunch of deer camps in the WKW this time of year and they jet to them, gig fish, fish, kill deer & turkey. Stl TU wants to do a a study about were the trout go down there. Would not be surprised if they go into a monkey dodo pile behind a couple deer camps.
  4. So you can sit by the pellet feeder for an up charge?
  5. Best example of back reeling you ever will see.
  6. It is a tough stretch. Hour & 1/2 from town. Does not fish well after September 15. To much boat traffic & the trout seem to disappear.
  7. Pen raised abomination?
  8. Only 42? Guess they caught them on their first day.
  9. Envious! Have not done a solo float yet this year. Always memorable.
  10. Nope, gigging is allowed in all Smallmouth Bass Special Management areas. No ribbon designations or gigging restrictions on smally water. Would be nice but the MDC biologists claim that gigging is harmless. If they can lie like that with a straight face, they need to go sell whole life insurance.
  11. Do camp at HVO, or Riversedge near Bennet once or twice a year. Have not fished the park in the last 13yrs. Floating the river is always better IMO. Won't see anyone on the river during deer season, wear blaze orange, you will here some shots.
  12. Awesome Catch! Good for you!
  13. Forgetaboutit
  14. Gigging is allowed in the Red & White Ribbon trout water, but not in the Blue Ribbon.
  15. That section sees a ton of jet boat traffic in the fall, lots of hunters, lots of gig boats.
  16. We bring our travel trailer. Spigots on the CG will work, just make sure you have a couple extra lengths of garden hose to access.

    What's Cooking?

Funny vid! Thanks Ness, think I'll go broth based, no Creme Fraisce.
  18. Park is always open, bathhouses will be closed. Bathrooms available at the pit toilet in loop 4, by the hatchery and at the lodge if open.
  19. Limit below the park to Cedargrove Is 1 fish over18", no bait or plastic allowed. Statewide limits for trout apply between Cedar & Akers.

    What's Cooking?

Beer cheese soup with bacon & chicken attempt tonight. Fail IMO, kids liked it, wife and I hated it. Reminded me of a bowl full of cheap nacho topping.
  21. Looks like a nice time. Good for you guys.

Closed the cement pond and my wife made chili. My daughter is making the cornbread now. Hope to dig in soon.

    What's Cooking?

Chix Noodle & Dumps are good but won with those before. Will be bringing both but won't be on the competitors table. Will be 30-35 pots total, maybe 12 competing.

    What's Cooking?

Contemplating Soup for the family soup competition . Thinking beer bacon cheddar this year. Have to cater to middle of the road flavors. The won't eat excellent gumbo, loved the bland taco soup, would not eat the turtle soup cuz it had real turtle meat in it. What do you think they will like?
  25. Nice surprise today. My buddy Joe the antique & collectible tackle dealer found one of my old creations. Made it for my late friend Roy who died way too soon. Looking forward to fishing it on some of Roy's favorite stretches soon.
