  1. Think I'd head to the B. Piney, Gasconade, Current, Eleven Pt, Meramec, Niangua, or James instead.
  2. Denali is packed with tour groups and very restrictive. Tour bus trip mostly. Better to go and free boot it.
  3. Have been there to fish several times. Gotta do some fly outs to fish or see bears, wolves, etc. A halibut trip is great for meat. Doty or Phil could provide some current info. Have not been in ten years, but plan to take my family soon. Sea Kayaking by the Glaciers is cool. Spent most of the time on the rivers up from Bristol Bay or on the Kenai near Cooper Landing and Soldatna. Do it yourself, fly to Anchorage, then drive to Cooper or Soldatna is the cheapest option. Get a plane full and fly across Cook inlet as much as you want. Plenty of rental cabins & pilots for hire.
  4. Have been thinking about a jet boat for my older years. Don't want a big one to learn. Thinking a 1752 Blazer or Alweld with a 25 jet. Would not like the noise though.
  5. Cant make it but have fun! Guessing that Hog Wally commutes to work in his River Pro;)!
  6. MDC Report-Female Mountain Lion in Shannon County Have seen what I thought were tracks down near Parker Hollow on the Current.
  7. Would take a look at the Hatch reels if looking. Last two guides in Florida had Hatch. Sage still owns it if you want a salt rod. Practice before you go. If you can cast 70' accurately with an 8-9wt and more less accurately if needed, you will be ready.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Black bush is good, but high price for a bland flavored whiskey. Buy the white label mostly, for Sunday Morning Coffee. Had some Turkey 101 at a client's place while picking up his tax info tonight. Little hot on the tongue.
  9. 9wt is a good all around salt water stick. Would borrow a buddies for your trip. 8-12wt fly rods sit mostly. Same could be said for 0-4wts. Pay his warranty fee if you break it or for the rod if you lose it.
  10. They ship quick. Ordered Saturday, arrived today via priority mail. We'll packed and all there. Thanks Guys!
  11. Hair Jigs Old post, but it might give you some ideas.
  12. Good to here from you Ken! hope all is well.

    What's Cooking?

Looks great! Have been banned from the Kitchen! K & T are face timing and cooking dinner together. One in KC, one in STL. Same dish. Smells like jambalaya.
  14. Looks like a good time! Nice job Seth & Brandon!

    What's Cooking?

Minor effort tonight. My better half is cooking muscles. My task was do the chops and the Ceasar Dressing. Super easy and you won't ever taste better than fresh made Ceasar Dressing. I just eye ball it but Google Bon Appetit Ceasar dressing and your close. Croutons in the oven. Bread from Fazio's on the hill.
  16. Congrats guys! Just checked out your website. The site looks great, and its easy to navigate & pay! Should be well stocked on my next trip to the river.
  17. Who needs another fluke/worm hook? Hardly ever loose one.
  18. Ross is Farm Bureau D bag, the same as Jason Smith. Will be an interesting legislative season.
  19. Was a great presentation and great to see some old friends and meet some new folks. Won a pack of baits and some heads. The new jig heads look allot better than the ones I've been bumming off of Mitch for years and those are excellent. Baits, heads, packaging, all top notch. Mitch said that their website will be up to take orders on Friday AM.
  20. Nice gig if you can get it!

    What's Cooking?

Cooking all day today. Will be working 60+ a week for the next 4 months and gotta keep the family happy too. Thinking about couple lasagnas. Couple pans of enchiladas, Cuban Black Breans , and some "Good" rice today. Kids will eat it so must be good.

    What's Cooking?

I get that. Was a 5lb roast so I let it roll for 3hrs by guesstimate. Figured the temps would equalize, and not going to get any hotter. Could do duck in a bag all night, would not get any hotter.
  23. Don't know. Usually cut there gills and bleed them out immediately if I want a fish dinner. Released immediately in water mostly. Maybe a picture if it is memorable, but few are. Cooked that day when I keep.

    What's Cooking?

Sorry, but nope. Found a managers special on a small rib roast and decided to give it a whirl. It's an Anova gizmo. Not shire which model. They have recipes, recommendations, on their website. Will need a food saver to vac pack you meat, plus the gizmo. It held temperature very well at 132 in an almost full 24 quart stock pot. First time I used it.

    What's Cooking?

The Canadian bacon & duck looks great. Roast turned out really well if you like Black & blue. The device is an immersion circulator. Has a heat element and a fan in it to circulate the water. Holds a constant temperature for as long as you want it too. Tossing the leftovers on the slicer tomorrow. Should have lots of roast beef sandwiches next week.
