  1. Maybe the Fishing Hole on Watson, just east of Elm in Crestwood. Couple boat places down by Denny Dennis too.
  2. My dad's Uncle Will died at Iwo Jima. Have his eagle, globe, and anchor. My buddies dad was their too. Still doing well in his 90's. Super nice guy. PBS in St. Louis did a nice piece on him and some other WWII vets several years ago, it is worth watching if you have the chance.
  3. Brian is correct. Best time to sell a used boat, canoe, or kayak is tax refund time.
  4. Spent a ton of time on on the carrier & flight line working on the A6-E, & F-18 but not nearly as cool as a radial engine prop WWII fighter. All but one of my pilots are still alive. TC switched to Harriers from the A6 and caught a heat seeker over Iraq during Desert Storm. Was a great guy. Have a customer with a three radial engine Corsairs. Sweet aircraft! Love the look and the sound.
  5. Have been using the high-vis Suffix braids in 2lb diameter/6lb test on my spin rods for several years. Its way stronger than 6lb test, but does need a leader if you want to fish jigs with it. I'm not a fan of braid on bait casting tackle though.
  6. They put some big fat pellet pigs in those lakes.
  7. Thanks for the pics, good to spend some time with you last weekend.
  8. Hard to go wrong with turkey, mashed potatoes & green beans. Could do fresh ones in a big pot filled with chicken stock onion pepper and bacon. Easier than casseroles, and always more flavorful liquid for a second or third batch. Good for you. Ours in town is the Saturday before and we take a family trip Thursday-Sunday.
  9. Be kind to others. If not take your reward.
  10. Thinking knock the douche in the drink.
  11. Good for you! That's a huge river largemouth, heck it would probably put you in the money for a lake tourney.
  12. I'm sure they would eat a buzzer, but your gonna ruin a lot of baits.
  13. Had a similar experience on the Current a couple years ago...but just poacher's running deer with radio collared dogs & atv's. .
  14. Just looked at it. Can park at the top lot or move the barricade and toss your boat in.
  15. Looks better already!
  16. Tilles is about a half mile from my house. Will go and catch one occasionally if I have 15 minutes to kill. Jefferson or Busch are better options. Jefferson is fairly clear and you can sight fish occasionally, but heavy pressure. Some folks are there allot and report violations so it does not get cleaned out immediately. Mostly blind casting though.
  17. The Farm Bureau is very influential, but they stand for nothing in terms of environmental improvement.
  18. That new CG has been in the works for awhile. Noticed the survey stakes a couple years ago. Supposed to be full hookup RV sites.
  19. Do love to watch a good baseball game, but don't have the time to waste on sports entertainment regularly. Has been a good series, don't care who wins.

    Youth Season

Many days out with my Dad hunting deer. Good times, get one or not.
  21. It was fine until the screwed Baptist up by developing that access 30 years ago. Used to be nothing but a gravel road leading to the water. Glad that road is gone. The bare spot will fill in soon enough. Cedar to Akers needs a ton of work in comparison to Baptist to Cedar. Can't think of many spots that I could not drive to in a 4x4 on the lower trout water.
  22. Mostly sand and gravel near the water. Won't get to check it out till later this month but no worries.
  23. Thinking some folks wanted/needed to cash, out. Will be sold again soon. That's just what happens when you let investment bankers buy a stake. Make your numbers or your out.
  24. We used to wash airplanes with trichloroethylene at MCAS El Toro. That nasty stuff always gave me a splitting headache. .
  25. Good for you!
