  1. I am not anti-gun, I’m anti horder. Against the media/NRA hype too. Buy what you need to shoot, but don’t buy to stare and mole whack over it. Ammo is not going away. I only go through 3-5 cases of 12g rounds a year. Have that on hand, plus a limited supply for some other weapons, maybe 30-50 rounds for each, and a thousand or so 22LR and a 10/22 river from my dead father in law. 22 Air Rifle for Squirrels. Not sure how many rounds get issued to front line combat soldiers, but bet less than 200 rounds. If you need more than 2-3 you are in a really bad spot.
  2. Heard there is a shortage of primers, plus record demand. Who needs 10,000 rounds in their basement? Some people think they do.
  3. He wont catch many that way...On top of the fish, in plain site, Dropping 15-20' casts with his feet in the water.
  4. Is the name of the channel "How to spook fish"? Asking for a friend.

    wanted

Kitchen Aid mixer with the grinder attachment. Food Saver to vac seal...Somebody else can split the logs.
  6. The old chew toy trick. The weight clicking on the bottom seems to attract fish to your lure. Works with any tackle.
  7. They find dead bodies down there sometimes. Ugly water coming out of the BB...Kinda marks the divide between the middle and lower Meramec.
  8. Saw it on FB...Super nice fish...Maybe a state record Sauger or maybe a Saugeye. We know you can catch em.
  9. There was Gina's drive through liquor store in East St Louis years ago....about 2 blocks away from the pot in the box. Toss a $5 spot in the slot and out popped some weed. Folks used to have this stuff figured out.
  10. Fake diamonds on the horns....and chains on the glasses. They would play bridge and drink white russians in Sun City AZ.
  11. Many years ago...Granny had a beehive and horn rims.
  12. My friend chef Kent used to own the Famous Bar down on Chippewa. Yeah, been there a few times. Sold out to his brother 15 or so year ago. Had some chicken ala king and some french onion with grandma at the Dept Store years ago.
  13. Jim White on KMOX.... Was one of the best for quotes..."For every complex problem, there is a simple solution that is wrong." Jim White.
  14. Once you get over life making sense....It gets allot easier.
  15. And nobody cares....Been that way forever.
  16. We get a ton of Trumpeter Swans up in Alton. More of a woot kinda honk, but higher pitched than a Canada Goose. Specks (Greater White Fronted Geese) make squealy peep type sounds as do snow geese. Bunch of them around. This is a great site if you want to browse birds. Photo's and sound files. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/
  17. The fish eat accuracy. If on my game I can bump them in nose at 60’. Not how I like to fish anymore. Not that mad at them.
  18. Saw some folks standing on the ice at Tilles yesterday and fishing the hole the Geese kept open. Looked like 5-8 inches. Years ago the county would shovel and we could skate on the county ponds. Not today.
  19. Those are the rules. Used to be the purest of the purest fly fisher. Glad I gave that up.
  20. Yep, but I would go with a Kastmaster instead.
  21. Snow & Ross Geese most likely in your area. Ton of specks on the move yesterday.
  22. Some tread wrapped around a hook shank and you are good to go.

    What's Cooking?

Penzey's is were I usually source it. They have it on the shelf. Some grocery stores have it but you have to ask at the courtesy counter. Usually located next to the Dom Perignon & Cristal.

    Road Trip?

Arcadia area is nice...Not sure if the Arcadia Academy is still open. Was a good spot for lunch or some ice cream, walk the grounds, etc. Lester's in Lesterville is worth a stop to eat, pick up supplies etc. Did not make it down this year. Lots to see in the old lead belt. St Francis & Black R. drainage is mostly frog water other than the shut in stretches. Shut in stretches are allot more fun to float though. If you have the right water level. Fishing is hit or miss, but have caught over 12 species in a day on the St. Francis. Good panfishing, good catfishing, bass only fair.
  25. Looks like factory black and white with some accents and an epoxy coat. I'd fish it after I debarbed those hooks. Great looking bait.
