  1. Seems to me that all state parks are site on top of site. We tent camp, so hookups/ electricity are not needed. The experience is always pleasant at the parks. My kids are usually safe, and they have programs for the family. We even took the cave tour. I do recommend it, price was low, experience was good.
  2. Went camping with the family, got to fish for a few hours yesterday early afternoon while the kids played in the water and the wife read a book. First, there aren't many opportunities for fishing on land. If you don't have some kind of watercraft, be ready to do some wading. I can't really do that. So, that being said, I did what I could. First I foul hooked a drum. No picture as it was not legally caught. I then caught 2 of these fish. I seen some of the beasts that have been invading the lakes. There was a unicorn also. Now for the good stuff. My son wanted to micro fish. I tried my best to show him what @Johnsfolly taught me. We tried, I had one take the bait, but I couldn't hook it. We tried for about an hour, but no takes. I seen a few neat fish, and tried to get Lucas to see them, but he just couldn't focus on them. We found a little pool with some small guys. I gave Lucas the pole, he felt a few tugs and got very happy. He didn't set the hook, but he was hooked. He kept trying and he finally got one ad our time was running over. Just couldn't leave. Images to follow. Apparently I've met my limit.
  3. Mine is my name pronounced Derek. My avatar is a picture of the mug I bought as a souveniere from the Hoover Dam. Since I'm not the best looking guy around, I took a picture of my mug which says "this is my dam mug". So it's kind of a play on words. (Mugshot)
  4. Beat me to it. Lol
  5. Sounds very neat. I heard a couple people talking about it yesterday.
  6. I bought a boat over the fall, but the maximum capacity tag has been painted over and sun faded. Does anyone know how to get a replacement?
  7. That was a funny dam story.
  8. Probably not. Most tickets to events are waivers of liability. Which means you give away your right to sue the owners operators if something was to go tragically wrong.
  9. Maybe no one is to blame. How many storms have the Ducks successfully completed? Why do we always want to blame someone? If the owners did say "no, here's your refund, we feel it may not be safe.", during every storm that happened, would they even be in business? One made it, that says to me that maybe the storm wasn't the problem. Maybe it was luck. Who do we blame/sue for being unlucky?
  10. That would give the name more sense. We floated it on rafts the week before, and did a few years ago. Never understood the reason for the name.
  11. I went to my local w-mart and picked up an Attwood circuit breaker. 50 amp for $9.96. Much cheaper than what I have seen before. I'm gonna attach it on the battery box.
  12. Good luck to you. I hope you do well. Looking forward to the pictures.
  13. When I was a teenager, I fished the city parks often. There were many ducks and geese in those ponds. We would often have slow days and spend hours fishing. Well of course those bird became targets. We never could seem to hit one, no matter how hard we tried. We finally quit trying. One day I was there, casting out as usual, and a swan flew by to land. It tangled in my line and got the hook. That was a mess I hope to never experience again. All ended well, but it was loud and thrashing a lot. There was an adult who knew to extend the leg and it would slow down the thrashing so we could proceed to remove the hook and line mess.
  14. Excellent reports. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Now I do. 🤣 There are people on this site who are claimed to be able to read a picture by the landscape and background, and go and ruin the spot. I'm just looking out for you. LOL
  16. I hope no-one recognizes the landscape around your house. They may try fishing there.
  17. Thanks for the report. Glad to hear about your success. Kind of surprised that you didn't mention the beer.

  19. You look very pleased.
  20. Very well said.
  21. I'm curious about how would you estimate the size before you harvest?
  22. Great report. Glad you and that stranger got to meet back up. Hopefully you get to meet Harris. He's a good guy.
