  1. Before this thread gets locked, I do want to say thank you to Travis Swift for informing us of a great sale.
  2. I'm sorry Gary.
  3. You could always tell the person" be careful over here with that bait, you are really not supposed to use it. Last year they got me here for that." Or something along those lines. Get as elaborate as you like. Sometimes people really just don't know. There are so many signs all around. I have no idea about half of the holes, areas that you guys give names for. They are not always very easy for new people to recognize. I have been guilty of trying to keep a fish from the catch-and-release zone at Roaring River. Someone was kind enough to tell me.
  4. I use Dave's heads, and they have weed guards. I have honestly never tried anything else.
  5. I attach a flag to anything that extends past my bumper. I don't want to give anyone a reason to hit me. You could get really creative with a red flag, I use a red mechanics rag. You could even use an epoxy to a fix it permanently.
  6. Good job Brett, I was wondering how you've been. Haven't seen you post for a while. I know you farm, so figured you were busy.
  7. I have hauled my 13 foot gheenoe in my short bed Dodge Dakota many times. Just make sure you use a red flag maybe a couple to alert people what's behind you. Ratchet strap diagonally across from forward to backward inside the bed. When I first picked it up in Lebanon Missouri, I only had a ratchet strap from the nose to the back of the bed. Took some good hills and curves never had any issues nor was I uncomfortable.
  8. I thought it would get your attention..
  9. It was much more vibrant in color than this picture shows.
  10. Lots of info on the Ned Rig on here. Lots. It' very simple, yet effective.
  11. Be ready for many snags, and much retying. Bring your own pole, but expect not to fish ;-). I have an 8 year old daughter and 11 year old son. We go a few times a year and have since very young. I would recommend a bobber with a piece of nightcrawler. Or a Ned rig. (Dont bring alot of tackle) both can be casted fairly easy, and they produce. Expect her to lose interest fairly quickly, and bring snacks, and drinks. Show her the plants and tell her stories, you both will have a great time.
  12. I often watch videos with the sound off, do to possible bad language and having kids around, but this time I'm glad I had the sound on. LOL
  13. This is.a sensitive subject, and I don't have the answer. But, I do have a question. How is it with less people keeping fish in general, we have fewer "big" fish? I read/hear about the fish of yesteryear, but have to realize most people then were catching for dinner, without any restrictions of method of catching. They also had less management of water quality, fish habitat, etc. Maybe there is a benefit to removing more fish, and letting the strong survive. Just trying to think outside of the box.
  14. Smooth transaction. Thank you.
