Really? Cuz I've seen some that were smaller than a dime. And would have had no stabilization weight to them at all. Anyone that knows anything about archery knows that the point needs to have enough weight in comparison to the shaft.....so that the projectile will fly straight. You ever shot a bare shaft? That sucker can boomerang and hit you square in the noggin. π

What, exactly, are what artifact hunters call "bird points"? Please don't tell me that ancient man made tiny little arrows to shoot at birds..... because that would be ridiculous. There are way easier methods to catch & kill a bird than flinging cute little miniature arrows at them. I always suspected that those itty-bitty 5 pointers were made by modern crackheads, as jewelry or something.

Litter box I guess. Like I stated before, that ain't no "dog". It's a cat that barks. π€·ββοΈ

LMAO π€£ Bass Boat Central, ya pecker head ! Good bunch of members, but the mods are notorious polak power trippers with no sense of humor at all.

Just gravitate towards the skin-heads and you won't miss anyone important to ya. π

Back in the day, the only way I could learn about John Wilson's Trout Crack was by entering into a fly swap that he was participating in......or hire him to guide me for a day When I finally got my hands on it I messaged him and said "Seriously? This is IT?" π He messaged back and said...."Just shut-up and TRY IT". Bingo! Lesson learned. The JW TC is one of my most productive scud patterns EVER. And I understand 100% now. You can learn a ton by participating in fly swaps. Don't discount any of the flys you get......Go get them wet ! π Coffey's Sparkleminnow was the same way. Had I not gotten an original in a swap, and reverse engineered it, I would have missed out on a wicked good fly pattern.

I actually didn't watch it all the way through. Did it go over the edge? If so, sorry. I'll ditch it.....and be more careful in the future. Speaking of that.....Have y'all seen that Turbo Tax commercial that's been playing lately? Holy crap, they are really pushing the borderline, ain't they? Even a crass jack-off like me is like.....Woah, Easy Now! π³

During Snowmageddon 1994 I sat at the window of my lake house and watched docks flip upsidedown and transformers explode for 3 days straight in all directions. No soda, no cigs, no reefer, and no electricity for just shy of a week. The only thing positive about that adventure was that I knocked up my girlfriend at the time.....and have a super cool daughter to fish with now. π

I don't specifically give them permission, no. But they aren't commonly known to ask first. π€·ββοΈ

I have a superior understanding of DC voltage, but I can be dangerous with AC stuff. I wired in a clothes dryer once, tested it and it worked fine. Scooted into place, and as soon as the dryer touched the washer the sparks flew like an arc welder π³ I called an electrician fishing buddy and he came right over, did some stuff and all was well. When finished he said, "Well Glen, you only did one thing wrong". I said "Yeah, what?" He says......"You touched it in the first place! You obviously don't know what the hell you're doing. Stick to working on boats! ". Point securely taken. π

Is this one of those transformers that go Ka-Boom and shoot balls of fire everywhere? Because it sits right next to the corner of my house.
-
What causes transformers to blow like that ? Can't they put a fuse/circuit breaker in those things to prevent that from happening? I have one so close to my house that I can spit on it from my front deck. The stupid thing makes me nervous every time it storms.

Hey, as long as it remains locked even if it's heated up..... that's some fine engineering. π Plastic bearing retainers have saved many a crankshaft. Self lubricating....for awhile.....when friction heat occurs.

This stands true. There wouldn't even be a road to get to my place if wasn't for Methamphetamine. π

Fish Consumption Advisory on Bull Shoals, Norfork
fishinwrench replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Angling Discussion
I'd say that's quite likely considering the warning is Walleye specific. I mean, c'mon π -

Do they ever test chicken, beef, or pork ? -
As opposed to being out-back smoking weed or hittin' the crack pipe, or in the bathroom puking because they drank too much the night before? Cuz that's what they get everywhere else. π

My daughter who aced Statistics compiled that figure. It was over a 4 year period (which for some reason made determining it easier). One was a Merc 60 overhaul on a pontoon that checked fine everytime I retested it..... but supposedly had issues at times during their trips out. It didn't help that the toons leaked like crazy, but they refused to address that problem. I never could get the engine to act up like they claimed. Nevertheless they became frustrated with me.....and I failed to make them happy customers. The others were just piddly stuff, like delays on backordered parts, or NLA parts, and various other things out of my control.....but nevertheless I acquired the negative marks for it. It's easy to tell when folks are genuinely happy, they leave with handshakes and smiles, often call to say "thanks" after running the engine awhile, rave about you on social media,.....and they refer all their friends ππ None of them appear to dislike me because of my personality (like some of you here doπ ), so my "approval rating" skyrockets everytime I log off of THIS PLACE. π Oh, and I've been completely banned from the BBC forum.

Sad newsπ I sure wish them both well.

Huge Chomper fan here as well.π That 5" skirted DT grub is MONEY !

Advice tip #1. Don't "drag" those stickbaits. Rip'em and pause 'em. The closer they are to the boat, the shorter the pause. π Advice tip #2. A dark colored Marabou jig will save a slow day. You literally can't fish it wrong.
-
In other words.....Just comply and be content with whatever freedom you're currently allowed, and consider yourself lucky that your situation isn't worse......cuz Lord knows it COULD BE. The meek shall inherit the earth, right? If I hadn't been born in the '60's, raised in the '70's......and have memories of how things worked back then, I'd probably agree.

Fish Consumption Advisory on Bull Shoals, Norfork
fishinwrench replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Angling Discussion
I always kinda figured that White bass were among the safest to consume. Their rather short lifespan combined with the fact that they are rather pelagic open water inhabitants just seems like they'd be less likely to be tainted. That's one of the reasons why I'm such a cranky ol'fart about the introduction of hybrid stripers, and their incessant polluting of the gene pool. -

Why only larger +18" Walleyes? Where does an adult walleye live, and what does it consume, that results in higher mercury levels than the other species in those bodies of water? -
I'll be giving myself a raise this year. Just out of curiosity, what hourly rate would cause you to avoid bringing your boat/motor here for service? For reference, I was at 120/hr. last year. Customer satisfaction rate=98.6% (pretty darn proud of that π)
