  1. That school contains 26 fish within an 8' span there. My math says they average 4.3" apiece...... Hardly worth your time. If they are suspended crappie then it's a school of yearlings from last Spring 2022. Keep following them for 730 days and you'll have something worth opening the livewell lid for. 😁
  2. Well just keep hanging out around my place and you'll get enough second hand poison to set you back a few years. You don't consume any vegetables, and you eat 30 hotdogs a week...... Just because you cook them at home don't mean jack squat! You're gonna flop over like Damar Hamlin any day now, so you might as well pour yourself a shot of whiskey, light a Marlboro, and stop bragging about you're impeccable health. 😅
  3. It needs to be relocated upstream about 60 yards, where the channel bank is higher and the stream is a bit wider (red). Then a short piece of road cleared to connect (yellow) with some rip-rap on the stream side of the new connecting road. The low necked down area where it has always been......is just asking for it everytime the water gets high.
  4. It's always good if the host of a fly swap knows where his house is at. 👍
  5. There's really nothing to discuss. The bridge has to be fixed/replaced AGAIN/or whatever. The only thing left to do is to GET BUSY ON IT and to quit kicking the can down the road. They made a bad call and didn't take the advice of the contractor they hired to replace it the LAST TIME. He wanted to relocate it for a reason, but they chose to ignore his intelligence, and now HOPEFULLY they've learned a lesson. Suck it up, admit that you made an error of judgement, and get up off that MFing money ! Freakin' Dingleberry's! 🙄
  6. The joy of tying them all in that color is they are open to creativity with Sharpie markers. 👍
  7. You ain't wrong.
  8. Crappie love a white grizzly WB. No bead, and darn few lead wraps. You want it to sink slooooow. Boringly slow.
  9. Here's fshndougs entry, he couldn't get the pic up on here......cuz he's an idiot. Congo Streamer
  10. There are more than enough YT channels out there that reflect the "Don't Worry/Be Happy" attitude, no matter what. The majority of his content is positive helpful tips and such, but when it comes to the TRULY IMPORTANT things there honestly isn't all that much to be positive and thankful for. All the happy-go-lucky folks, that complain about him complaining, are just avoiding reality......and doing worse than nothing to improve or sustain those important things.
  11. Yessir. Haven't seen or heard of a bigun, but the ones in there are suckers for a heavily weighted pine squirrel leech.
  12. I don't personally care about the pool.....but it's just another thing.... They can't blame government cuts, or recession, or Covid. Not with a straight face anyway. Hell, what they spent on all of those idiotic looking contraptions to keep RV's from driving over the bridge, ( ya know, the one that isn't a bridge anymore), was likely more than any pool upgrade could have cost. Neither the bridge, nor the stupid roadblock contraptions had any chance to "pay for themselves". They certainly didn't have any trouble funding the expansion of the cabins and RV site area.
  13. Very James Bond'ish. I'd like to have about 20 of them to throw in the road here during the summer, right before bar closing time.
  14. Boy, it would suck if it started raining those things, wouldn't it? 😂 That's some fancy welding!
  15. Phil, the trout fishery at Taney can be brought back to life practically overnight, but nobody can do that with the fish population on TR. I don't think that heavy development hurts the fishery all that much, honestly. The fishery can recover (it certainly has here at LO) , but it sure takes away from the scenery and the experience of being outdoors. Heavy boat traffic isn't necessarily all bad either, from a fishery standpoint. It helps keep the water well oxygenated, and reduces fishing pressure in many mainlake areas.
  16. You can test them with a digital voltmeter. Charge them individually to a stable 12.70+ then let the battery sit overnight, if you lose more than .30v overnight.... it's time to replace. Since you have one fresh one, you can also compare the loaded voltage drop of each, individually, when the TM button is activated (it doesn't have to be in the water). Again, a difference of .30- indicates the weakest battery regardless of the state of charge.
  17. Being about the same age as Randy, and beings as how I have been fishing just as long......I understand his rants 100% Call it "whining" if you want, but there needs to be more guys of his pedigree that aren't too timid to say these things. The time to start initiating these "movements" is definitely NOW, before it continues much longer. Because he's correct in saying that if the trend continues there will be no turning back. Trust me, y'all don't want TR to be another Lake O ,where you can't even find a place to pull a boat up onto the bank to hop out and stretch your legs, or even find a secluded cove to have lunch and take a pee. The development at Lake O has shown that it only takes 1/2 a lifetime to turn a huge and beautiful lake into an ugly overpopulated cesspool. And they aren't gonna build any more large lakes. What we have is all that we'll ever have.
  18. Let's hear what y'all think. I haven't personally fished it but a few times since the LMBV debacle, but prior to that she sure was a gem.
  19. It's incredible if you're in business. Treat people right and they'll sing your song loudly everytime someone inquires about the service you provide. I see the posts.....then the numerous replies.....and the next thing ya know the phone is ringing. 👍. Cha-Ching! 💪 Best advertising campaign ever, and it's FREE. I never EVER get into controversial topics, or opinionated discussions on there though. NO WAY! I save all that for YOU GUYS. 😅
  20. Somebody needs to step in and shake things up around there. They scrapped the swimming pool. It sits there covered in buzzard poop and fish bones. Spent a literal fukton on a new lower bridge, that only lasted until the first high water event.....and is STILL closed. And the entire hatchery system is shut down, with all these grandiose plans of updating....but no signs of anything going on currently to restore it. I've said it 100 times, and I'll keep saying it........Back when it was running smoothly, all it took was an old 1/2 ton pick-up truck, a wheelbarrow, and 3-4 old drunks with Pal mall's hanging out of their mouths. Now they have a whole team of college graduates, all kinds of brand-new special vehicles, the best high-dollar equipment that money can buy........But yet they just can't seem to make anything happen. There's simply no excuse for any of this. Huge FAIL going on there. HUGE! Too many Chiefs, and not enough Indians. All they are concerned about keeping up, is the RV park, and the lodging. When you go in the park store there is 5-6 people hanging around the "lodging" desk......and you have to go hunt down and disturb someone to sell you a daily tag or to sell you any tackle, and they act pissed that they had to do it. 🙄 You used to have to show them a fishing license to buy a tag, but they don't even care about THAT anymore.
  21. You'd better boycott FB before the authorities storm your house !
  22. Yep, and loaded with plenty of sizable fish all year, even though practically everyone was keeping limits......And no brand new multi-million dollar hatchery operation. Fish were fed out of coffee cans and wheel barrows. How was it possible, and why isn't it today?
  23. Line/hook shy fish don't go by those rules. A suspended bait makes the hook and line far more visible to the fish. When laying on the bottom the hook and line are more camouflaged.
  24. If a good knot is tied then 6# of pressure will not break it, but it will over-stretch it beyond its ability to recover. It will likely break (after being stretched) at somewhere between 7-8# if the knot doesn't fail first.
  25. Here's one to help everyone recover from the rediculousness I originally posted 👍
