  1. Dude, I built a doghouse once, and the dog wouldn't even go inside it. He elected to lay on top of it... even during a rainstorm. 🙄 I installed a washer and dryer once, tested it and everything seemed to work fine.....so I went to scoot it into it's "slot" and when the dryer touched the washer it was like fireworks (sparks flew everywhere)😲 I called a handyman buddy and he came and straightened it out. When done he said "Well Glen, you only did ONE thing wrong.......You touched it in the first place !".
  2. I beg your pardon. I'm totally open and honest about all the things I either suck at, or know absolutely nothing about. For instance: I'm so skilled at carpentry and household electrical stuff that I know to NEVER EVEN TOUCH IT. 🙂 Sorry if I come across as a know-it-all, but it isn't my fault that you've been alive longer than me and can't pour piss out of a boot.
  3. No, but I have buddies that worked it really hard. They kept the hides frozen until an opportunity to sell at the best price came along. They had a couple of freezer loads of hides at one time....BUT they had been sitting on them, and accumulating them for several years. Nobody that I knew continuously brought home truckloads of critters every time they ran their sets. In other words....the number of hours spent/per dollar made could have been topped by picking up soda bottles or selling wood.
  4. Living 100+ miles from any sizable water......a man can't. That's why I asked what counties he was trapping in. Just seems that you would have needed to own alot of traps, and have had A LOT of land to trap on, in order to PROFIT 1000.00 And a WHOLE LOT of both to profit 2000.00+ Something tells me that the time and work involved could have been better and more lucratively spent cutting and selling firewood and ginseng. Trapping and preparing hides isn't exactly easy work.
  5. The throttle mounted trim switch on Mercs has been a POS forever (their R&D guys just have never seen fit to improve on it). Moisture inside the switch is typically the culprit, but it might be the 3-wire harness that is built into the switch. (Red/Green/Blue). Disconnect your cranking battery until you can have it serviced.....or it will burn up your trim motor, turning a 300.00 repair into a 676.00 repair.
  6. What county(s) were you hunting/trapping in? I mean, I was alive during that time, and spent a lot of time in and around Beaver, muskrat, coon, coyote, fox habitat. So I have a pretty good idea how many animals were available. I know what it costs to do it, and I know what the rolled up and frozen hides were worth then. To profit $2000.00+ legally in a season (or even 3 seasons) seems impossible. How the hell do you run a trapline so successfully ? You should write a book.
  7. Not personally, no. I think it depends on whether you go to church or not.
  8. Let's see.....shall I walk an extra 2 miles a day in waders.......or pay 5.75 more for the campsite? Hmmm 🤔.
  9. God, I miss road hunting. Wait......"I've never had sex with that woman". 😇
  10. Does it work if you get up....but then can't fall ? 🤔 Because that's the most likely scenario.
  11. The dude has a flamethrower, and you're worried about a nail gun ? 😂
  12. It isn't "MY EQUATION" it is THE equation. All line diameters are within .003 of each other......and that ain't enough to kill the magic. Nice to see your brain clicking though. 👍 Oh and before you start throwing out the sinking properties of flourocarbon.......Spare yourself, that's all BS. 🙂
  13. You can grab any site you want......and pitch your tent on it. 👍
  14. Lots of it. Physics too! Did you know that a 1/8 oz jig was heavier than a 1/16? And that in order to get a 1/8 jig to sink at the same rate you have to go 8# up in line size? Woah 😳 Mind blown.....Right? 💡
  15. Average your high temps for the last 3 days. Average your lows for the last 3 days. Add those together & then divide by 2. 🙂
  16. Is there a manual over-ride ? As a mechanic you learn real quickly that anything that CAN go wrong.... WILL, and usually at the most inconvenient time. And electrical circuits are among the most likely to fail, especially in the outdoor environment. Being a disabled person stuck up on a pole in the middle of the woods would suck way worse than hunting from a ground blind. Especially if you had to poop. 😅
  17. At least he isn't a Democrat. 👍
  18. It did that here too. 3/4" of sleet in about 2 hours. Didn't see any lightning but it was rumbling thunder off in the distance. The sound of sleet hitting metal dock roofs was deafening.
  19. I know an old dude that soaks his nightcrawlers in beet juice. Makes them big and fat, and purple. I don't know if he catches more fish because of it, but when he pulls one of those baby anaconda's out of the tub it's impressive.
  20. Who knew there were nicer things to do with chickens in the garden? Man, if I had known that I could have saved myself alot of money and grief. 🥺
  21. I find dead hawks in my yard all the time. How weird is it that they always come HERE to die ? 🤔
  22. Probably true. What you're paying for is the handy applicator bottle.....which is fine with me. So can y'all just buy it from THEM and help keep them in business please? I mean Jesus Christ, you paid 600-900 for the rod/reel, 100 for line, ect.ect. Going all cheap on some friggin' fly drying powder is rediculous. 😂
  23. You're definitely gettin' there. 👍
  24. It's magic dust. I bet if I snorted a line of it you'd turn into a frogs fanny right before my eyes.
  25. A girl I went to school with didn't come home one night, and all of us CBers went searching. Took all night and into the next day but she was found. Her and her date were trapped in a 4x4 that had rolled in a dry creek bed that ran through a corn field. Her mom was a nurse and she (Lindy 16) was in the truck holding the barrel of a Bic pen in her boyfriend's throat. She had given him a tracheotomy.....Saved his life ! God, what an ordeal that was !
