With the introduction of livescope I think everyone is learning alot about bass movements lately, and quite a bit of it is contrary to what we all have assumed for years.
The number and sizes of bass that just sit out in the middle of nowhere, suspended, is astounding. I'm left wondering though, if the majority of THOSE fish are tournament releasee's that are simply lost....or if that is just a natural behavior trait in lakes with an abundance of shad.
All of my life I have been fishing for bass that are in or near cover of some sort.....But guys are locating schools of heavy bass nowadays that are 1/4 mile from anything that even resembles cover, and they are catching them consistently.
A little 9 boat derby last Tuesday resulted in 5 limits in the 20+lb. range. Using livescope and jerkbaits in open water. If that's not an eye opener I don't know what is. 😳
