Looks like a 3/16 or 1/4 head. Personally I never went heavier than 1/8oz. and used 1/16 mostly, especially if they were biting on the swing.

Any "dog" smaller than a Bassett or a beagle is nothing but a cat, that eats from the litterbox instead of pooping in it.

I was throwing that out there for anyone that wanted to play. The thing I've learned about competitive fishing over the years is that I don't care how much of a hammer you think you are......on any given day, one-on-one, I have, at the very least, a 50% chance of taking your money. And if you're doing it from a kayak, or a jonboat with a trolling motor...... I've got an 80% chance. A good stiff breeze, or a number of other uncontrollable conditions would put the odds even MORE in my favor.

I quit "gear fishing" for river smallies years ago because it just wasn't challenging enough to keep me interested. But back when I did it the #1 bait that would catch them 24/7 & 365 was a 5" piece of Zoom Finesse worm on a Charlie Brewer slider head (green pumpkin). Ticked along the bottom, or swung through the current on a semi-tight line, or slowly swam through the mid-column with no twitches or anything. (looks just like a stick being drug through the water.... but bygod they'll eat it). Jerkbaits always got ALOT of follows, but only resulted in occasional actual bites. My most productive FLY for winter smallies is this here "Mudpuppy"..... fished in one of the same exact ways.

Oh well. I get 120/hr. if I stay home and work, and competitive fishing is harder than an average day at WORK. So unless I have the potential to earn at least 800.00 plus gas money......I'd just as soon stay home and twist wrenches. Was just giving your highly-confident self a shot at earning some extra X-mas money. 🙂

Nobody is denying that, but those ads don't just pop up EVERYWHERE. Facebook? Sure! And the ads here are so ridiculously random that it's either funny, or annoying. I'm so sick of seeing this hussy that I could throw my phone across the room. I haven't spoken a word about Island travel.....ever. If it's listening then where are all the outboard parts ads, and fly tying material ads ? I haven't seen a single one, and those conversations happen constantly around my phone.

And anyone who blames the VISITOR or MEMBER for what pops up is a hypocrite.....or worse. Visit the Christian forums, the Disney forum, the Marine or Auto tech forums, or basically any other forum, and see if those same ads pop up. Bet ya they don't. The reason they do pop-up on SOME forums is because the owner of said forum gets paid, or otherwise compensated, for allowing them.

I ain't telling Phil what to do. He has his reasons for the way the site is set-up, and he can do whatever he pleases. America, and all that. 👍 All I request is that myself, and others, not get lambasted for allegedly insulting fine Christian women, or for corrupting 8-10 year olds with our banter on here, when simply visiting the forum listings page is often exposing them to R-rated content to begin with.

No he wouldn't. Ads can be filtered using the existing host. Not only can they be filtered.....they can be removed altogether. Ones pertaining only to freshwater fishing and north American hunting would be my choice, if I was in charge.

If what y'all say is true then I should be getting pummeled with ads for fly tying materials, outboard parts, tools, pet care stuff, and vacuum cleaners. Nope. Instead I get ads for random crap relating to nothing I have any interest in whatsoever. I mean SURE those chicks on the face of the ads interest me.....but I've been at this game long enough to know that my chances of getting any of them to do the dishes and then cuddle up with me are ZERO. 🙄
