  1. That's the thing that nobody pretends to understand when I throw my fits about how many keeper bass get relocated every weekend during these stupid tournaments. The guys around here have no qualms about hauling 12 fish per boat around all day, and doing their sorting/culling at the weigh-in location. When you have 60-70 tournaments per month doing that..... it's just too much. Not cool at all.
  2. Exactly. A lot of block castings are identical across several HP ranges.....but if the finished product has the same part# then that means cylinder porting is the same as well. HP differences in that case would be merely intake and exhaust related, gear ratio, and probably different ECM programming. Which brings me to the question of why anyone would chose a 15hp over a 25hp (same weight, same paint job, same price....or it SHOULD BE).
  3. Yep, sure'nuff. 75 and 90 are the same part #, 60/65 is different. The 15 and 25 share the same cylinder block also. I don't exactly understand the agenda there. I'll ask at my next opportunity.
  4. Which ones? I wanna look up some parts on them.
  5. Doubtful that a 15 and a 20 share the same powerhead, but with the newer "4-stroke EFI's" that he has his heart set on, I really don't know, nor do I care since nobody will ever be overhauling/rebuilding one. They are designed to be clean running and disposable.
  6. I've been an outboard tech for 25 years, but you're asking questions that are over my head. 1 SAE horsepower is .0412 stronger than 1 Metric horsepower. So if you wanna compare one brand against the other I guess you need to know what standard of measurement each is using. Or.....you could just throw one beer (or handful of ice) out of the boat cooler and call it a push. 🤣
  7. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😅😁😊 That boy is as worthless as a white crayon.
  8. Fake news. 🙄 I suppose if the bearing had already grenaded and a piece of it got stuck in the relief hole or plugged the relief hose....then MAYBE if you stomped on the grease gun with both feet at the same time you MIGHT budge the seal. But at that point who cares? 😅 So bottom line......if it blows the seal out....GOOD....cuz the seal is gonna have to come out anyway.
  9. You're so Shiitake Inoculated your eyes are brown ! 😁 If you ever look in the mirror and notice they are any other color....then you'll know that you're a quart low.
  10. Awe! You made yourself a little sucker fishing buddy. Awesome! 🤠🤠
  11. How do you pronounce shiitake? Is it shi- take Shi-tak Or she- takey
  12. Look at you, being all McGuyverish ! Someday in the future an outboard mechanic will get that motor in his shop. He'll tear into it after giving someone a ballpark estimate.....and then he'll be like "what in the hell has been done here"? 🤣 He will rant about it on one of my tech forums, and I'll be able to say "Oooooh Yeah, I know THAT motor". 😎
  13. My favorite new term of endearment for 2020.
  14. I've lived my whole life without hearing that, but suddenly THIS YEAR I've heard about 7 people say that they are gonna farm mushrooms. Did I miss a popular podcast or something?
  15. Yes. Basically all you're doing is pushing any water away from the bearing. Not sure why Mercury touts the 24C for everything. You can wipe that stuff right off your hands with a paper towel and then grab your sandwich. I always kinda figured the harder it is to clean up....the better it is for a Marine application. For what it's worth, I've never seen a driveshaft bearing failure on a jet pump. I'm sure it can happen, but I've never had to swap one. And my main parts supplier has had the same 3 in stock for 14 years 😅
  16. I'm not a good mushroom spotter. Only once have I found more than my hat would hold, and that happened to be under a stand of cedar trees. That experience ruined me because now when I'm out looking for morels and I notice cedars off in the distance I HAVE TO go look. I probably step on a hat full on my way to the stupid cedars. 🙄
  17. Not ideal for sure. I had a 2000 180 with a 115 prop, really liked it for a bass/crappie boat on the upper ends of the lake. The hull and gunnel skin is pretty thin, I always kept mine off the rocks. I've had a bunch of 180W's in here to work on. I think all have had broken welds at various points. I'm not a fan of welded Jon boats unless the hull gauge is really thick material. Aluminum needs to be able to flex, and if you try to make it where it can't then it is gonna break somewhere. I've seen welds break on boats that have never even been on the water yet. A bumpy ride on the trailer can do it.
  18. Pretty fish! All colored up, and has a full tail. 👍
  19. Sounds like they are following you 😊 or maybe they just have less to do around the big cities. Everyone else I've talked to (from the Jeff City, Columbia, Mexico area) says they have never seen an agent there.
  20. I'm not comparing it to the trout parks, I'm comparing it to the Red and White ribbon areas, and the fact that instead of purposely producing more fish for the urban program they take it from the numbers that they used to put in the ribbon areas. If you're gonna invite another family to dinner, don't starve your kids and your dog.....Throw an extra plate of hamburgers on the grill. Especially if you are collecting cash at the door. The economy is good, they have no reason to be cheap.
  21. They spent all that time and money studying streams and designating them as red/white/blue management areas, then enacted specific rules and regulations for each.......THEN what do they do with the fish? Stockpile them until Fall and toss them into muddy ponds. What in the Sam hell ? And you're pissy with ME for venting about how ignorant it is. 🙄
  22. If it's acceptable for it to be "too bad for me", then why is is not ok for it to be TOO BAD FOR THEM? (the urban anglers) Are they even actively checking the urban trout anglers to see if they possess a trout stamp? (The correct answer is NO). I don't think you realize that in the history of Missouri trout management there was much better quality management done way back before they had 1/10 of the funds to do it with. Am I really out of line to expect some degree of progression? Seems the more we pay, the less we get. Less management, less policing, less enjoyment. And more rediculous spending that benefits WHO?
  23. Good stuff 👍 My daughter hasn't found a boyfriend yet than can outfish HER, but I've been promised that if she ever does then I can fish with him. If he outfishes ME then she can marry him.
