It's pretty interesting the way it happened here around Lake O. When they began clearing for the lake beginning in the late '20's, people were basically booted off the land where they lived, and a lot of those families just moved up into the hills and started fencing off parcels of land. If nobody threw a fit and told them to stop it then they would just expand their land by moving the fences further out and clearing the timber. This behavior went on until the late '50's early '60's. After doing this for a period of time, with nobody officially objecting, the land just legally became theirs. They couldn't sell it..... because they had no actual recorded deed, and it hadn't been surveyed. But nobody could take it from them.....And for some reason the state didn't ever seek to foreclose on behalf of back taxes accrued. 4 of those families, that I know of, still hold HUGE parcels of land. I'm talking about SQUARE MILES of it. And somehow they've figured out a way to settle the tax debt & start selling some of it. I took possession of a 1 3/4 acre piece myself after the tornado, that bordered my property, but there was no record of it being deeded to anyone, it was initially marked as a road easement. But I just cleared it off and fenced it in. And on the last digital survey since 2014 it shows it being owned by ME. I never paid a dime for it.

Buried somewhere underneath wireless servo's that control shifting, throttle setting, trim angle, and steering. You can drive it with your phone. Just plot your course on a GPS map and go take a nap. Even the winch on the trailer is wireless and Bluetooth compatible. I'm sure you'd love it.

Things are changing here in Gravois too. Coconut's has sold. And several other pieces of property that generous offers have been ignored/turned down, for many years.....are suddenly being sold off at stupid low prices. Alot of acreage was taken by "adverse possession" back in the 1930's-1950's and the state has apparently decided to forgive the long-overdue tax debt. 🤷‍♂️

I haven't seen a single one here on my property that didn't ride in on a boat, but just over the hill, in every direction, they are thick. Maybe the tornado in '06 wiped them out along this path. 🤷‍♂️

I crank the reel with my right hand regardless of whether it's a baitcaster, spinning rig, or fly rod. In my mind that means that the REEL is a right-handed reel. But Noooooo 🤷‍♂️ Just to keep this ON TOPIC.....if you have Bone Cancer it is probably because you fished right-handed all of your life....with a LEFT HANDED reel. So you probably have brain cancer too.

It's not how I comprehend it..... it's how someone else (that probably didn't even fish) comprehended it YEARS AGO, and somehow it has remained the industry standard.

I wasn't whining about how hard it is to move the handle, I just don't get why it is considered Right handed if you are reeling with the LEFT. Fly reels are a bit of a PIA....gotta flip the bearing over, and pull all the backing off.

Don't get me started 🙄 Right-handed baitcasting reels have the handle on the RIGHT SIDE. If you want the handle on the right-side of a spinning reel or fly reel.....ya gotta have a "LEFT-HANDED" reel. Most rediculous thing ever.

You'd think that since they waited 17 years to do that....at least ONE OF THEM would act a little more excited. 🙄 Might as well be doing dishes, or folding laundry.

Odds are that they won't SEE the ads.....but it will take 10-times longer for each page to load. 🙄 I turned the motion sensor off on my high-dollar computerized shop light....and now when I flip the switch there's a 12 second delay before the stupid light comes on. 🤬 So it's either THAT or having the entire yard lit up like a runway for 30 minutes everytime a possum or a cicada crosses the driveway. 🙄

There for awhile, in the past, the ads popping up here were totally outer limits. Stuff we weren't even allowed to mention on this forum were popping up as ads. And you "MODERATORS" tried to blame it on my "surfing habits". I kinda took offense to that because I don't surf porn.....and DEFINITELY don't surf kiddie porn. It isn't like that anymore. Or at least it hasn't been like that lately. Most of the ads I see now are at least outdoor related, with a few political pro-BIDEN ads, which are easy to ignore.

DNR? 🤔 Having trouble decoding that one at the moment....but I think I get the message. There are people who claim to be 100% believers, and their days are filled with pain, discomfort, frustration, ect. and they fully realize that their condition has no chance of improvement. Yet every single one of them will undergo multiple miserable treatments, spending YEARS in total misery, stressing out their family beyond belief, while they fight for that very last breath. Personally, if I had genuine faith, like they say they do,...... I'd be anxious to call it quits.

When I hear this kind of thing it raises SO MANY questions. If people truly believed like they pretend to, there wouldn't be such crowded hospitals and doctors offices. If the Lord is all-knowing, then for who's benefit is this charade? I just don't understand.

It was brought to our attention last week, that the last 9 serious offenders in this state were either cops or school teachers/school employees. So whaddya do now ? There seems to also be a run on crooked county commissioners. 🤷‍♂️ Things like this are kept pretty quiet, or at least within the county..... but if you talk to people from all over the state, it appears to be an epidemic. 🤨 These people are ENCOURAGED to carry weapons, and have permission to use them anytime they see fit.

If I was going up there I'd put in at Shell branch......and I wouldn't leave Shell branch. There's plenty of fish right there within a mile of the ramp. And it likely won't be overly crowded.

Initially they are all cream colored, with wings that look like a disco globe. Then a day or two after they have emerged they are greenish on their bellies, black on top, with brownish/orange legs and transparent wings. Yep. Once they have been around awhile they are pale greenish/brown and black. No orange hues at all. And coffee colored wings. What color are the ones around your area ?
