  1. They do allow it. They aren't supposed to though. Plenty, you think? Post up pics of 2 legal limits caught in the next week and I'll agree with ya. Bet you 40.00 ya can't pull it off. 😊
  2. 'preciate it. It's worth a try I guess. I find it amazing that at 56 years old, after spending my whole life in and around the woods I have never had a real problem with these "parasites" until NOW. I mean, what gives? The little bastages have been around forever, right?
  3. He's gonna bring me some next month 😊 Come chase whites with me and I might make you a peanut butter and honey sandwich. 😋
  4. So now there's a fish swimming around out there without a tail? Poor guys! After they realize the thermocline crap don't help them, they then sit at home and dream up brilliant ideas like THAT to be become the hammer. Forgot to throw the tail away 😂 Then broke under interrogation 😒 What a dipshit! He'll be shaking his head over that one for awhile. 😣
  5. Do I have to ignore all the bites I get before my bait ever gets to the level of the magical thermocline ? I'm not denying that there won't be many fish BELOW it. Who, in their right mind, starts fishing at the very bottom of a reservoir and works their way up? That's not even possible to do.
  6. Fish that are hanging out where they are most comfortable are likely taking a nap and are too lazy to chase down a bait. 😊 It might still warrant some consideration, but whether it is an important factor or not remains to be proven. And I think the idea has been circulating around long enough by now to have done so....And so far, failed. 🙄 The key to becoming a great angler in a short amount of time, is to not get hung up for too long on junk theories that don't matter.
  7. That thermocline business is junk science. When it comes to catching fish, that is. Theoretically the most active fish can be found there, but that absolutely does not mean that the guy with the biggest sack of fish last weekend, or this coming weekend will have caught their fish there. It also doesn't mean that if you find a brush pile on a ledge that is dead center within that column of water that you are unlikely to get skunked fishing it. So there ya have it. Looks good on paper, and sounds great in magazine articles and seminars, but it is complete bullbutter. 😊
  8. I know I've spent more than 600 on this lure testing facility this year. Matter of fact the cost of the electricity to run the dang pump 24/7 all Summer probably eclipsed 600.....and it's STILL out there running as I type.
  9. Good God Almighty ! 😲 Since she didn't make it.....Mount that sucker! Crazy big fish, congrats!!!
  10. Next year I am going to keep track of hours and dollars spent MAINTAINING, vs. hours spent ENJOYING. I'm certain that we are way upside down in this thing. 🤔
  11. I was in WM last night and noticed that the black powder guns were out on open racks just like the fishing poles. But the single shot shotguns, and even AIRGUNS were locked up behind glass. How does that make any sense?
  12. It's like preachers daughter vs. a trip to the whorehouse, Joe You don't even wanna take a bath afterwards.
  13. Everyone has been too busy around here to "tend" to the pool lately. It's looking more and more like a bass pond every day. I may toss a few in there just for fun at lunchtime.
  14. Have you ever tossed pebbles for them just to hear their teeth CLICK. 😊 Now that's fun!
  15. Since a possum can't even sneak across our yard at 3:am without the dog losing his mind I don't think I have to worry about being surprised by a crackhead with a gun busting through the door. Not to mention the spiders on the deck that he would have to negotiate with. If he gets into my house and still has enough balls to take charge.....then he deserves anything he can get.
  16. Right. Should be even easier then. 😊
  17. What's the active ingredient ?
  18. I hate them too. You might get used to it but I never will. If the original throttle cable is still there the switch back is quick and easy.
  19. Not always! Am I the only one being eaten alive by grass mites, or whatever microscopic bugs live in the grass/weeds? It seems that I can't take 3 steps off the pavement anywhere without spending 4 days in agony. And whatever they are they are 100% uneffected by bug spray. Worst case of them I have ever experienced.
  20. Well, it's no big deal to start a car and drive it to the store. But a boat has to be taken to the water, and sometimes life happens and another trip to the lake might not happen for quite awhile. You may have parked your boat expecting to go next weekend.....but the next thing you know it's 4-5 months later and you still haven't been out. Park a car in the weeds, throw a tarp over it, forget it for a year and a half.....and see if it will operate trouble-free.
  21. Oh I'm not eating any of them ! I thought the 2 on lower left were chanterelle's, but Billethead says NO!
  22. It isn't the obvious spots that bother me, it's those spots that you don't realize are tricky until you're already committed. There are 2 between 64 and NRO on the Niangua that I'm surprised don't cause serious problems for hundreds of folks every single weekend. I think "bumbling through" with zero respect for what ALMOST happened just might be the best strategy for canoeing. I'm probably guilty of over analyzing the sketchy spots.
  23. Me and the little kid did some picking and attempted to ID these. We didn't do so good on the ID part, but narrowed a few down to one or the other. Does anyone recognize any of them for sure?
  24. Isn't it always ?
  25. Technical sketchy spots might be fun if you're just "canoeing", but I'm always there to fish so I have stuff in the canoe that I REALLY don't want to lose. I've never done a float with just people and paddles.
