What size outboard are we talking here? For the most part if you stick to Johnson/Evinrude you'll be able to aquire parts and accessories to do just about anything you want. Merc, Yamaha, and the others.....not so much.

I'm no lawyer (obviously) but I live on a lake that has more docks than any lake in the world, possibly, and I have never heard of a single case where anyone was arrested/fined/sued/or even got a pillow thrown at them for being in/on someone's dock without permission. We have a friend that is a dispatcher and according to her they get calls occasionally, especially during Winter, with people reporting guys crappie fishing on their dock, and I think it's safe to say that the ones who enforce the laws around here don't take those reports very seriously. I think the bottom line is:. If you own a dock then buy some insurance so if something gets vandalized, stolen, or otherwise damaged then you can recover your loss. Having a dock on public water is no different than parking your car in a city park or a shopping center parking lot.

Maybe, just possibly, the population issue is on the mend with all this transgendering and LGBT openness. Just 10 years ago it was big news if you found out someone was gay. Nowadays your almost surprised if someone isn't.

I don't have any grandchildren. So there 😎 I can only control what I do. I can't even influence the choices of my own town council, so fat chance making a difference in the WORLD. The world is overpopulated, and that's why things are beginning to look bleak. If you really wanna help the future of humanity get better then maybe you should encourage your children to think long and hard before they breed. How's that for a Truth Bomb ? 😅

If you are a Christian (as most are) then there's absolutely nothing for you to worry about. Your actions, or inactions regarding these kinda things are all taken care of. It's all part of the grand plan and nothing you/we/they do, or don't do, is going to change that plan. All of this concern, debating, arguing, protesting, and lobbying is a huge waste of your allotted time above ground. You are promised eternal paradise.....So Let it be.

I know an outstanding, yet reasonably priced fiberglass wizard, but he is a terrible drunk and I think half his brain is gone from inhaling fumes. Still does amazing work but I hesitate to refer anyone to him because occasionally he disappears for weeks at a time.....and never apologizes for it

Get the rest of the world to quit as much as WE have, and there'd be no worries. Good luck telling THEM what to do. 😏

Yeah along with 8 fat bass (all dead) in the livewell that they caught at Millstone and forgot to release after getting towed back in. Why everyone feels the need to haul fish around just perplexes me. It wasn't even a tournament day. 🙄 Just for the record.....If your boat comes in here with dead bass in the livewell, you are ineligible for the Good ol'boy discount.

You'd have to hike either upstream or downstream from the bridge about a mile either way to find a decent catfish hole. Suckers are pretty much everywhere though.

If you're talking about an outboard 20hp or smaller it's actually better to attach a chain to the spot meant for attaching a chain on the mount. I'd rather knock the motor off the transom than to completely bust the gearcase or exhaust housing. Unless it's a 4-stroke....in which case you're better off insuring it and letting it sink.
