  1. Dang! Sorry Ronnie I'm over-protective of my crooked headed numbskull for selfish reasons. The heartache of loosing a hound is more than I'm prepared to deal with.
  2. Probably the biggest trigger those hollow bodied frogs have is that "plop" sound they make when they hit the water. You can't recreate that any other way that I know of.
  3. Yes. But don't listen to it while your wife is around or you'll end up buying TV's, furniture, trampolines, cookware, and everything else imaginable. Trust me when I say that driving 35 miles to teardown and move a trampoline is NOT how you wanna start a Saturday morning.
  4. Take a KVD Sexy Frog, bend the hooks out a few degrees, trim the skirts (legs) to the same length as the body, and then trim half the strands of one leg about 3/16" shorter than the others (this makes getting it started walking easier). Then tie it on 15-20# flouro with a no-slip loop knot. When they eat it, pause for a second then sweep hard to the side.
  5. There are some crazy good deals out there. In all honesty though most aren't on CL or in the classified ads. We have a radio station that does a "Country Sale" show once a week where folks call in and sell just about everything except real estate and firearms, and being close to the lake area there's always several boats on there. You just gotta listen to the hour long program and be the first one there with some cash. Most are gonna be boats with various things wrong with them, or at the very least they are going to be dirty boats that have sat unused for awhile with flat trailer tires, bad fuel, weathered hoses, bad water pump impellers and leaky geacase seals. But even after the cost of freshening it all back up you will have a really good boat for a really good price.
  6. It's been awhile since I've caught one. It's about to break loose though. The days are getting noticably longer.
  7. The woman stood her ground. And I bite my tongue to keep from informing the female that she apparently married the wrong guy. She should have married a city boy with a Christian Grey job who hires plumbers, mechanics, electricians, HVAC techs, lawn care services, ect. to keep all the things that are important to her working to her satisfaction. Then she could just sit around and wait for him to come home carrying a handful of roses so he could tie her up and blister her behind. But nope, she married a good ol'country boy for lots of good reasons....and now has just forgotten why. The boy wants a boat. For all he has done and continues to do for her and the family, he deserves to be happy and go fishing sometimes. If you want him to continue reeling in carp on an old Zebco 33 from the bank, then get off your butt and go down to the crik to wash those clothes, wring them out by hand and hang'em on the line. Then get busy plucking chickens.
  8. Time to step it up to 7 times a day.
  9. Just learned that BPS flouro is Red Label Seaguar.
  10. I have a suggestion for the Nut Cutter Clouser. Instead of using bucktail for the belly, try an absorbent material like Icelandic sheep hair or craft fur.
  11. Let me know how those worm flys work out for ya. I've never been able to make that happen. You'd think they'd fish as good as a Senko.....but that hasn't been my experience.
  12. Let's discuss what a well tyed custom Clouser on a premium hook should cost. I'm thinking 2.50/ea. or 25.00/doz. would be good for the buyer, but 3.00/ea. and 30.00/doz. would make it more worthwhile for the tyer. I'd do it for 30.00/doz.
  13. That was pretty cool. The thing I noticed during my starling hunt was that they didn't spook at all from the noise of the gun at 40 yards. I don't think they even knew where the noise was coming from or what it was. They'd flush out of the tree but come right back time after time. It was alot of fun. I wish we could hunt turkeys with airguns, I think that would be the ultimate.
  14. She ate a front leg, a back leg, and tried to eat a back piece. I ate the rest, and she wasn't lying it was tough as a shoe She has had rabbit and loves it. Who doesn't? I called about a Coyote .25 and it turns out they discontinued it.....and wouldn't say why They tried to sway me towards the Urban .25.....but I don't like the Urban (thumbhole stock and all that crap) so I'm out of the PCP mood again for now, which I'm kinda glad because I know how I am, and once I go there I will invariably spend 3k before I get satisfied with my setup. I don't need that in my life right now, I need to buy a new truck this year.
  15. No I can say it with certainty, because I know all 3 of them. One thought they needed to attend church, and the other 2 were runs for liquor or cigarettes. All equally stupid reasons for attempting these hills when you can't even walk on level ground without busting your butt.
  16. There's 3 in the ditch within sight of my front deck. My wife is all...."Babe, go help them". Nope. If you're stupid enough to be out driving on this then I have no sympathy for ya.
  17. That's a 20" shaft motor on a 15" transom. And a Jerry rigged tilt/trim system. That dude is a real cobbler, look elsewhere.
  18. A 1648 is the do anything boat. A good motor for a 1648 isn't likely to be a tiller. 35hp minimum if prop. 50hp minimum if it's a jet.
  19. Only a total ding-a-ling would let go of those kids. To a gal with no other accomplishments, the kids are her security blanket. She knows that no matter what happens, society is not going to let those kids be forsaken. And she gets to go along for the ride. A man doing without is no big deal, nobody cares..... but a woman with children, doing without, will have the whole community (and every church) bending over backwards buying her cars, paying off the mortgages, filling the closets with clothes and the cupboards with food, ect. And every woman knows that.
  20. They have a body the size of a pigeon, the rest of them is all fluff. I kicked one once, because it was trying to attack me, and it was like kicking a sack of packing peanuts. My foot never hit anything solid.
  21. If you wanna get out of paying child support just join the National Guard, then sprain an ankle or complain of back pain and quit. You are then considered a "disabled veteran" and although the arrears amount stays on record there will be no collection enforcement. You can drive, hunt, fish, work a full-time job.....and never pay a dime. The party COLLECTING the child support can be a complete and total crack addict who dumps the kid(s) at a relatives and disappears for weeks at a time while denying the party who is behind on payments visitation with the children.....And this is perfectly ok. IMO if the state chooses to get involved in family affairs then they should actually research each case, instead of just assuming that anyone behind on payments is a "dead beat dad" who has nothing to offer his children besides drug money for Mom. Also IMO, if a woman decides to have kids with a irresponsible bum then she and the kids are just gonna suffer the consequences of that decision. That's just the way it goes, and the state has no business getting in the middle of it. Too bad/So sad.
  22. No "Customer" is the one where I bend over backwards, and you help me back up because you feel sorry for me.
  23. Actually you could wait until the Whites start running, and we could make an evening of it.
  24. Yeah the move where you bend over and grab your ankles is called "Happy Boat Owner". Billethead, come get this boat cover before I turn it into a pellet backstop!
  25. I'm not one who desires any effort by our conservation commission whatsoever being devoted to assisting the already well paid Child Support Enforcement division. Let them do their own dirty work! If divorce and custody courts were FAIR then I might feel differently, but they most certainly are NOT, and therefore I don't think that MDC has any business kissing the butthole of those heartless SOB's. I've been tangled up in their trap before. They screw over more good fathers than they do bad ones by a HUGE margin. Any division that sides with them should be defunded... like yesterday.
