Yeah we are Stream Team #2803, active since 2002. The overhead lines were old dead copper pairs that were replaced with underground fiber and never taken out. I don't pay for a ATT land line....so no bill from them. Maybe I should send THEM one.😉 You asked what contribution I had made, and you asked in a way that insinuated that I do nothing but sit back and complain, so I was just pointing out that me and my family contribute plenty (way more than most).

No, I was just referring to how the legs need to be cut. When his butt is up the legs should be even with his eyes.

The closest ramp I know of to HHT is "Der'vater's Edge" (5.00). Once you round the bend above the spring cove it gets flat and shallow real quick. Until you learn where the channel is you'll have to shut down before the first island, within sight of the vineyard. Once you know where the channel is, and where the shallow humps are at you can run up another mile or so from the island. Be sure to take a couple of these...http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_KVD_Sexy_Frog/descpage-SKKVDSF.html Turn the frog upside down and trim the skirts/legs even with his eyeballs, then slap a split ring on his nose, and bend the hooks outward and upward. 👍😋 He'll walk real sexy and you'll hook 95% of your bites.

Funny that you asked, as just today I spent 3.5 hours removing a busted utility pole and 200ft. of 300 pair phone line from the road, and after the last big rain my neighbor and I spent a day and part of another one repairing a culvert and 80yards of heavily rutted county road so that Special 8 road district could tend to more important things. Wanna know who cleaned up the Gravi access after kids fishing day and paid to dispose of the 5 full bags of trash 3 days afterwards when it was obvious that nobody else was gonna do it? A crew came back and removed their tent things the next day....but left the trash.

They sure look awesome, and I have tried them a bunch, but they never produced as well, in my hands, as rubber/silicone jigs. I even played with the old Hair jig and pork eel combo. Just couldn't make it work for me. No idea why not.

Outdoor activity doesn't need promoting. There's already too many out there enjoying it....or in this case, trying to. If they wanna promote it on their own dime, that's cool. If they wanna promote it on OURS then I'd like to see them go a little further than the feel-good part and promote not littering, and not being a jerk, and not throwing fish in a parking lot to bake in the sun, while doing it. That's all. Who else besides MDC uses our money to promote in that fashion? Lemme know, Chief and I'll point in THAT direction too.
-
Man that Lowrance cap dates back a year or two! I wish I could keep a hat clean for that long. 🎣

MDC spends YOUR money promoting fishing to those kids because they feel that too many kids have drunk or worthless daddy's, and the business end of fishing might suffer a deficit in the future. It is societal welfare. Harrassing someone who is in the legal act of fishing is a wildlife code violation.....so NO they can't "fish anywhere they want" if their being there is bothering you. Maybe you should write MDC a letter and suggest that IF they choose to spend our money introducing the fatherless little dipshits to fishing, then they should also spend an equal amount of time/money pounding some ethics into their skulls. Seems reasonable to me. Every year they have the MDC sponsored FREE KIDS FISHING DAY at the access near me, and every year MDC folk allow the place to be left COMPLETELY TRASHED. I guess it's not only free to fish....but all rules of proper behavior and care of the land are waived also. Why is that?

It beat them up pretty good didn't it? Tires and wheels are still good. What a mess. -

Just beautiful ! 👍👍 -
Well there ya have it. Bass boat lives on the trailer like it is supposed to. No problem exists. 👍👍

But you have power to the dock, right? Major effort? Dude, if the power stops at the shoreline you wouldn't have to carry the battery's all the way to the house! Put them in a wagon or a 2-wheeled dolly and just take them to the end of the walkway. If you're fit enough to fish then surely you can handle that. Putting electricity over the water is like storing a gas can next to the fireplace.

We have done just fine my whole life without a bear or cougar population, and I'd prefer it stayed that way. The only ones who support their introduction and protection are people that seldom get out of their cars. There is one prowling around the Camdenton area and now folks won't let their kids play outside. Having a bear in the area is apparently worse than having 10 sex offenders in your neighborhood.

I have never been a fan of electricity on private residential docks. Even if you're retired and can usually monitor it regularly.....life happens, people get busy or distracted with other elements of their lives and dock wiring can go months without any attention. It's just not a good idea for the sake of a piddly convenience. Hoists can be raised effortlessly with hydraulics or low amp DC winch or blower motors. And batteries can be wheeled to the shoreline in a wagon for charging (yeah their heavy....but they aren't THAT heavy, and odds are you could use the excersize anyway). I change out between 6-12 batteries a day sometimes, so it makes me chuckle to hear about someone having their day ruined because they might have to do it once every couple days. Having electricity on floating docks is a huge liability for nothing but the sake of plain laziness IMO. If you need lights down there then put a flood light on a pole at the shoreline and point it towards the freakin' dock, or fire up a Coleman lantern. When I had the lake house I never had electricity on my dock, and I don't remember it ever being a giant inconvenience at all. I fished 5-6 days a week and my batteries never went dead. So I don't understand what everybody is whining about? "Oh dang, I have to carry my bucket of fish 15 yards in order to use my electric fillet knife". Gimme a break!

Tan-Tar-A Resort Sold and becoming Margaritaville

It sucks when it happens, but I kinda understand it. A servers job is not only to take orders and deliver them to the table, they are also supposed to see to it that the bill gets paid. When it gets rediculously busy and it becomes hard to keep track of every table in their section they are supposed to ask for a credit card or some form of ID to hold until the party leaves. If a waitress/server fails to do that and gets stiffed then technically they are not doing their job. The servers are making 400-800 per shift for crying out loud, a job Ike that doesn't come without some responsibility. -
I think we are at the point on this lake that cheating wouldn't help you much. I mean think about it..... If you boxed up the biggest 5 fish that you caught over a week of fishing, what would the likely weight be? You think there isn't at least 10 guys out there that couldn't catch that much weight during a September day ? Guarantee ya there is.

They sold some houses..... but are leasing the property the houses sit on. Seems batshit crazy to me but I'm the farthest thing from a real estate guru. Not clear on how that can work. -
I haven't been in a new Lund V - Bass, but I've been in the single console 18' Tracker version of it... and that is one sweet boat. Decks are big enough to square dance on, sits down level and rocks only a tiny bit when you step on the gunnels. Nice dry ride through 2 footers. Lids, console, and hardware are solid as a rock. Ran 52 mph dry with a 115 XS Opti. and no passenger.

Just wait 10 years and buy it for 7000.00 with a blown up Merc hanging on it.
-
Pretty much a early Spring or late Fall thing as far as I know. The folks that fish it regularly don't talk much.
-
Everyone is different but for me it would do for the gills and crappie, but not for the bass. I guess it depends on what size "bugs" you wanna throw and how serious you are about it. No idea on the history but as far as I know Orvis never produced any "junk". I would expect a decent quality WF-6-F and a variety of leaders (both mono, and 5ips sinking) in the 6-8# tippet class would have you properly geared up. I'd stay away from 1/2 heavy lines like the Rio Grande or SA GPX as that rod is likely to be a bit slow and easily overpowered.

I heard that they have over 100 entry's secured already and the Regatta permit is only for (90? ) Not sure what that means, if anything.

I just don't get it. Nobody has partied any harder than I did when I was younger, but me and my crew always managed to stay alive and out of jail, and always made it home safe when we were done. These idiots nowadays think they are just Party Pro's...... but the truth of the matter is that they suck at it really bad! The thirty-somethings still need training wheels. Pathetic!
