I can't believe we don't have a decent tackle shop in the whole Lake Ozark area. I'm actually embarrassed about the fact. We have two halfassed little tackle shops, Dick's, and Wal-mart..... that's it. So yeah, online shopping is the only way to go unless all you throw is Strike King crankbaits/spinnerbaits/jigs, and Zoom worms in the stupid-gay colors. Well I took in... 2 blown powerheads (both Mercs). 1 blown jet pump. 1 rectifier/regulator fire that roasted the whole top end. ,....................................................... The ones I saved (pit crew style) so they could still finish the derby consisted of: 3 power pack/switchbox failures. 1 stator failure. 1 voltage regulator failure. 1 broken control cable. 2 livewell/recirc pumps. 1 overheat (shadetree water pump job gone wrong). 2 non working running lights. 1 trailer wheel bearing failure. So I guess I "won" about 8.5k

Yeah 7 and change is pretty much the upper limit here. I have had quite a few 7-7.5's but I've never caught an 8 on LO yet.

That's twice now that a chatterbait has done well in the Fall bash. The guy that took 2nd last Fall is a customer of mine. He is basically a crappie fisherman but threw a brown chatterbait around all his crappie piles and caught 3 fish that paid off.

A front runner ahead of a Fluke/Sluggo is a killer sometimes. Kinda weird that they'll eat the runner more often than the bigger fluke.

It isn't necessarily the trout (although they are pretty and fun to catch) that fixates you. It's the beautiful places where they live. Cool clear moving water, and the topography that brings that all together.

It'd be nice to fish with someone that could actually sing. One of my partners breaks out into song all the time, but he sucks! The only way to shut him up is to toss him a big piece of jerky.
