  1. He was talking about things happening HERE. Same thread/different subject. You know how we roll around here.
  2. Not if it's against the law, man.
  3. Once again....They have the authority and the obligation to arrest them when they break the law. I'm through talking about it until someone gets charged. I like beef.
  4. Why is this national news anyway ? Does anyone in Missouri really give 2 shits where the cows in Oregon eat ?
  5. Well thank you All I'm saying is that SOMETHING has caused those ranchers to think they are within their rights. I'm not willing to discount that just because the feds have taken issue with it.
  6. So you are saying that they WILL be arrested, just not today? OK I'll wait for it.
  7. You need to raise more hell around here. It's like the Trump polls. Everytime I get into a fight with Chief I gain 20 points
  8. Oh I know they're not stupid. The fact that the majority blindly follow and support everything they do and say is proof of that. The folks who question their words and actions, and remain somewhat bias against them are equally not stupid. If the people in the closest towns want/need them gone, and they are breaking laws, then not arresting and removing them immediately is a disservice to the communities.
  9. Yeah who knows. But the fact that all this unlawful crap is being reported but NOBODY is getting arrested/charged kinda makes me wonder who's right and who's wrong. What reason could the fed or local law have to wait to arrest someone ? Go on and get'er done! It HAS BEEN officially reported that locals have been harassed. Well then go arrest the ones doing it UNLESS of course the ones doing it have immunity like an FBI agent would.
  10. Whatever. I still say if they are breaking laws then go arrest them, otherwise leave them the hell alone. It sure looks to me like what they were doing was perfectly legal but the feds just "didn't like it". Too bad. There is plenty of stuff the fed does (or will do) on that land (and others land) that the public doesn't like too I bet. The feds going in incognito to try and escalate things so they have a more valid reason to start thumping heads and bossing people around is chickenshit and typical of the way our gov. handles things. Again, if removing old broken down fences or whatever is a violation of law then go arrest the guys that did it. If occupying the building is illegal....go arrest them. Let me ask you something.... If a federal agent is undercover and threatens you and you end up killing him do you get arrested for shooting a regular person or for shooting a federal agent ? You didn't know he was a federal agent, you just thought he was a friggin' lunatic because he was certainly acting like one. They aren't there dressed like federal agents, and it's a fair bet that they aren't conducting themselves like fed agents either. They are allowed to lie and do other bad stuff IF it helps their case.
  11. Brian, Hijacked? if they have broken any laws they would be arrested, pronto. Armed to the teeth? Since when is it illegal to carry a gun in Oregon ? No shots have been fired, right? There is an issue regarding constitutional rights here, and although I'm not clear on what they are when it comes to this, since nobody has been arrested I'm gonna guess that the government owned media is not relaying the full and true story here. I do know one thing though, you can bet your butt that if anyone has witnessed any of these rancher/miitia people breaking the law then they would be in custody already. Now tell me, because I guess I'm stupid, what exactly they are doing that is unlawful. And while your at it, if you don't mind, take another moment and explain to me what the federal government is doing that is right, or in other words... benefiting the people of Oregon.
  12. Looks like some undercover feds are involved in a smear campaign. Harassing the locals and creating unrest while pretending to be among the ranchers. I kinda suspected that some of the destruction during the Ferguson ordeal was done by our "system" to paint a worse picture of the protesters. Ya know, the burning of cop cars and such. Like they would just leave a cop car completely unattended and unwatched during an event like that. Yeah right. Y'all that trust and believe these authoritative government people are so blind (IMO).
  13. But the ones whose payments are up to date are still free to graze? And any new applicants with a checkbook in hand are given the go ahead?
  14. Nuthin wrong with living in a shack....as long as it's clean and the weeds ain't armpit high. I only lose respect when the place is filthy and there's 14 unfinished projects laying about. I could be happy as a clam in a 30x30 box with a few windows. The kids prolly wouldn't visit very often, but that ain't all bad either After the tornado I rebuilt my shop first and lived in it until the house was done. Slept on a air mattress, cooked on a coleman stove, showered at night with a garden hose and crapped in a bucket for 7 months. Hell it was fun!
  15. Before the govt. came down on them though. Was anyone (besides the govt) truly put out about the specific area where they were grazing their livestock, or where they burned ? I'm assuming that it isn't prime fishing/hunting land, just miles of otherwise useless grassland prairie ? Would I be allowed to run a bird dog on it, let him poop, that sort of thing ?
  16. I haven't studied this fiasco. Who are the ranchers harming? Who is being made a victim? I'm not down with prison time for anyone who has not seriously victimized someone. Shorting the government some cash doesn't get me there. They can scratch it off the individuals social security.... Or hey, call it a push since they likely unconstitutionally forced income tax deductions from his father/grandfather/great grandfather. Not one soul on this earth is born owing the US government a friggin' dime. They rightfully owe us. It's true. What did THEY pay for the land?
  17. As the water comes up on a rise/flood I don't think the current velocity changes much along the stream bed. Rocks and gravel get moved because runs and eddys change, but the idea that eggs get washed away is probably not true, and even if they get moved they probably still hatch at about the same rate as undisturbed eggs once conditions are right for hatching. I suspect that fish eggs are more resilient than we give them credit for. Mother nature is seldom kind to them.
  18. Sit down with some line and start tying and breaking. That's how you decide on the best knots for you. To compare two knots take a 16" piece of your line, tie one and then the other, pull until one of them breaks. Do it 3 times just to be sure.
  19. A local pub bought 1000 tickets. Everyone in the place when they draw the numbers gets a cut if they win. Heck that's worth having a burger and a beer for, no ?
  20. I have a pair of polypro long johns, some fleece jogging pants, and a pair of slick nylon running pants and a fleece jacket (in that order). Over that I wear breathable waders and a lightweight wading jacket. Even if you go in over your head into the water for 15 seconds you won't take on enough water to bother you much. I've done it.

    Roll Tide!

I dunno Mitch, the last thing I want is my kids sitting around watching me die. Piss on that, please go do anything but...
  22. I don't think the fish take time to calculate what it is or what it might be. It looks like a yummy morsel so they taste it to see.
  23. ....and he never caught another fish all day ???? Seriously, if bass were that picky we'd seldom catch one. I'd certainly rather have seven 8.00 Warts than one 60.00 one.
  24. I'll show you how simple minded I am about it.... There was never any bighorn sheep residing in Missouri or Illinois, so it seemed stupid as hell to have the St.Louis football team named after them. I've always thought Mizzou "Tigers" was stupid too. A team based out of Columbia, Mo. should be called the Pitbulls, Cottontails, or Possums. There ain't no darn Tigers around there.
  25. A true hillbilly is someone who doesn't get offended at being called one. Has nothing to do with what you eat, what you drive, or even where you live. It's all about what you love and how you carry yourself.
