  1. Hell yes. We'll barter ourselves out of debt to China. Let's get the Don on it !
  2. Right! AFTER biologists decided they'd be perfect for cleaning up some ditches in LA. and MS. and brought some here to try it. Where do you think the fish farmers got the idea from ? Just to be clear.....Studying biology is great. Tampering with it.....NOT. They just always have to tamper, bend, and play. That's bad news, bro, cuz they don't know WTF they're doing. Grab me a doughnut ! But wash your hands first.
  3. Yeah, they are the idiots that brought them here! Said they'd be great for cleaning up sewage treatment overflow down south. Typical Incomplete Science....as I've stated more than once. Bring in more otters !
  4. I found this....... So they spawn like Stripers? A good 3 year drought would likely put a serious dent in the population. You'd think wing dikes that create lots of eddy's would lessen the chance of eggs successfully hatching.
  5. Does anyone even know their spawning habits and growth rate ? Weaknesses? Things they just can't tolerate? I find it odd that the ONE FISH we can't destroy just happens to be the one we don't want the most. Ironic isn't it? C'mon now!
  6. No it is canoe water. It gets pretty narrow and shallow in spots. Lots of wood.
  7. Sounds like the perfect project for all those biologists. Now is your time to shine !
  8. Piercy stated that the motor died and he had a hard time getting it restarted. We're talking brand new Optimax here. I have a good idea why it died and why it took Piercy awhile to get it restarted. My guess is that Piercy was thrown from the helm ALSO and it pulled the kill switch. I'd say it took him a minute to figure that out. Those motors don't just die and become hard to start because you slow down real quick. The throttle was in gear and the kill switch was pulled.....THAT is why the motor wouldn't immediately restart. Brandon wasn't the only one that got tossed from the helm, Piercy did too.
  9. I guess I'd run for president. Then I'd build a wall...... I don't wanna live in the Whitehouse though so I would turn that place into a working homeless shelter. They can manufacture Wiggle Warts there.....or something.
  10. I doubt seriously that the HP forced anyone to do WP duty. If any of the troopers had indicated that they weren't comfortable out there then they would not have been there. If you believe that you might be under-trained then the time to speak up about it is BEFORE you go out there hawking pubs and chasing people down. The MOSHP doesn't just shrug off the concerns of the troopers I don't think. It isn't the fault of the merger, it is the fault of a gung-ho cop trying to build a reputation that MADD smiles upon. To hear Piercy whine about how under trained he was is sickening and stupid. Was he even qualified to do a safety check on a vessel ? I bet he was. And if he was then there is no excuse for the way he conducted Brandon's arrest, or any previous arrests he made while doing WP duty. If you listen to the recordings it is obvious that after watching a man struggle and drown the only thing Piercy was concerned about was himself and whether he was going to loose his job. Zero remorse or compassion for a person that Piercy himself admitted was friendly, compliant, and non combative. I'm so sore. I'm so tired. The SD card is missing from the camera. I tried to save the basturd but my belt didn't inflate. Let me know if I still have a job tomorrow. Why the dept. allowed Piercy to throw them under the bus and then attempt to cover it up is beyond me. The truly sad part is that you know darn well that this isn't the only time an officer caused death has happened and been covered up. It has just been covered up SUCCESSFULLY before.
  11. Assuming it goes to trial, and I don't think it will, but does the state pay for his representation/defense, or are his lawyer fees coming from his own personal estate ?
  12. I am still using the Thompson model A that was handed down to me from my grandpa. It is on it's 5th or 6th pair of jaws. Rotary would be kinda nice but I've done fine without so far.
  13. It's an opinion that is 100% correct. Even his fellow and superior officers agree.
  14. You'll be surprised at how effective those will be.
  15. The mistakes he made (can't believe we are calling them MISTAKES....but whatever) were nothing that extra training could have prevented. Someone with no training at all should know better. The dude is a jackass and he was just in a hurry to get Brandon booked so he could get back out there and rack up another arrest. The dept. offered incentives and Piercy was the lead dog on DWI/BWI. Now we know how......Cutting corners.
  16. He has been charged. There will never be a trial. In a few years they'll offer a plea deal that keeps him out of prison and he'll take it.
  17. No kidding ! Why do they even bother trying ? For entertainment purposes only.
  18. When I got tossed I swam back to the boat and hopped back in there like Spiderman. I don't even remember that being an issue but I'm sure it wasn't easy.
  19. Anytime they are running some water can be good.
  20. I spent the first 6-8 years of my daughters life getting her to be comfortable with water and the river. Now she is 20 and worries me to death. She spent New Years in the virgin isles and saw another 20y/o girl get careless and drown. Sad deal, but hopefully it imprints a little reality into her fearless nature.
  21. Ouch! I'm smart enough to know that permanently altering a fish species throughout an entire region just because I don't have anything better to do is a bad idea.
  22. See ! Too late now for some bodies of water.
  23. I have a hunch that stocking hybrid Stripers into lakes that already have a good white bass population kinda screws up the Whites. The biologists say they can't breed but hey.....I catch hybrids with full sperm bags and/or eggs all the dang time. If they aren't hybrids then they are hybrid/white cross. I used to think having the hybrids here was really cool but now I'm not so sure and I wish they had never done it. Alot of our Whites aren't regular Whites anymore I don't think.
  24. The first sturgeon I ever saw was caught near Louisiana Mo and thrown in the back of a pickup, driven to a bait shop in Mexico, Mo. It was dry as a bone but still alive. They put it in a little railroad lake and that sucker swam off like there was nothing at all wrong with it. That sumbitch is probably 300+ pounds and still swimming around in there.
  25. Bass much over 5 aren't that much fun really. They are too big to jump and just come up and shake their big ol' head and then try to go under the boat. I honestly enjoy 2-5lbers the most, because of their energy level and acrobatics.
