10k last week doesn't mean 10k per week from now on. Trust me, she knows that she'll be eating Ramen before the end of September.....or else she wouldn't be inviting ANY MAN to join her. π

Hot & Humid today. Worked out in it from 8:30 until 4:30 and didn't see a single fly, gnat, skeeter, spider, wasp or mud dauber. No invisible parasites chewing on my ankles and calves. The only insect I remember all day was a casual flyby from a friendly bumble bee. π I love this. It's like living in paradise!

It sure is nice being able to work at night without getting covered in bugs. And equally nice being able to walk all over my property without getting eaten alive.......Just seems odd and abnormal. A few butterflies and bees during the day, and the occasional SINGLE moth during the night, that's all there has been for the last week or so. I'm loving it! Haven't even plucked a tick off the dog in awhile. π

Ok so yeah it has cooled down just a bit, BUT where have all the bugs suddenly gone? It hasn't cooled off THAT MUCH. No ticks, no chiggers, no flys in the kitchen, no clouds of bugs flying around my outdoor lighting....or the lighting at the lake access or the local gas stations. And I took a walk into the woods yesterday and came out minus the stinging/burning of oak mites on my legs. Is it just here around Gravois Mills, or is anybody else noticing this all of a sudden? π€

Pick a decent sized creek arm, preferably one near the dam. Wait until that creek catches some rain and rises a foot or two. Run up that creek as far as you can safely go....as the creek is falling out.... And start fishing your way out towards the lake, covering water quickly. Afternoon/Evenings are best (4:00pm until dark) That's how I locate them on Lake O. during late-Summer/Fall. Stripers don't know, or care, which lake they are in.....so it should work there too. Good Luck π€

Sounds like you were fishing in the "front lawn". You can avoid stuff like that if you fish areas/spots that aren't so easy to access. As a plus, the fishing in those areas is typically better.

Depends on how you look at it I guess. IMO these days we have too many people making (or getting) too much money. Traffic on the roads is ridiculous at all hours of the day, probably because nobody is working very much. And seeing a vehicle that's older than mine is a rare sight, even in a small country town. Can't even find a kid that's willing to mow my yard for ANY REASONABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY!
-
I expect to start seeing that any day now.

Answer me this......If almost everytime a yellow dog runs through your yard it leaves a pile of crap in your driveway, while black, brown ,tan, and white dogs come & go all the time and never drop a load.......Not the same yellow dog, mind you, but almost every dog that's yellow. So eventually you start start running off all yellow dogs as soon as you see one. Are you being "racist"? And if so, then WHY is being racist something that you don't wanna be? Personally, I'd rather you call me a "racist" than be known as the neighborhood Poop Scooper. 90% of what most consider "racism" is nothing more than a reaction to a pattern.

There are quite a number of posts on this forum that I'm not very interested in......So I simply don't click on them ! I don't understand the bitching about what is being postedπ€ If a post, or topic, doesn't interest you then DON'T CLICK ON IT. Seems obvious to me, but some of you act like you are forced to read EVERYTHING.

Family ? If you don't think that tensions arise among family members when one decides they are atheist, or changes who they vote for.......then you've just never been around a family of independent people. π Hell, "family" fights can happen over how much butter to put in the Macaroni & cheese. -

Let me just say this.... When a group of people that you like, and care about, have rather important views that seem obviously twisted to you, it's normal to just want to understand WHY. And when they either fail to make you understand, or they blow you off by insinuating that YOU are the one that has a twisted brain, and offer up no explanation that has any merit....... Then the feelings of uncertainty remain. "Is it ME that has thinking errors?....Or is it in fact THEM?" π€ Because ONE OF YOU is indeed wrong.....make no mistake about it ! Politics & Religion are two areas that have always spawned societal blockage. Determining Friend...or....Acquaintance, in the true sense. More often than not, trying to turn an Acquaintance that you really like....into a genuine Friend.....is what causes things like what has happened here today. So all of you ACQUAINTANCES just need to realize where you stand, and decide whether BOTH OF YOU can be content with that, or not. π -

You don't think the economy is good for bankers ? Oh I bet it is just fine! π The economy suits me ok too. Less actual work.....and the bills are still getting paid because I give myself raises as they are needed. The thing that changes with the economy, in MY business, is the type of people that I'm doing work for. When the economy is "good" I am dealing more with factory/hourly workers, guides, farmers, cops, and construction workers. Guys driving rough old dusty trucks, with a cold beer in a cooly cup. And most pay with cash and tell lots of jokes and fishing stories. These days it's almost all Real Estate investors, Bankers, Lawyers, college professors, business owners, ect. towing their boats with fresh, clean Tundra's and Rams, sipping on flavored water. And paying with credit cards. They never hang around and just chew the fat. And never have any good beef or deer jerky to share. The middle class folks are on too tight of a budget to be fishing & boating much I think. -

Dude, not even Google knew what you meant for sure. Stop making up punny words and expecting SMART FOLK to immediately understand. π
