  1. Other than a regatta permit, what special license were they required to have? And aside from some noise level regulation I don't see what rule would have to be waived or bended. Airboats aren't any louder than a scarab with twin 454's
  2. Fishing reports, regardless of who publishes them, are for entertainment purposes only. Why MDC even wants to be in the entertainment business is beyond me..... but whatever. Somewhere down the line someone decided that a monthly fishing report was expected of them, and somebody else on the payroll needed a cush little project to milk, so we have had a "fishing report" ever since. I say; Sequester that sumbitch!
  3. In my experience, yeah that is pretty much a reliable early Spring pond pattern. A #2 Mepps was always the first good "bite" of the year in the strip pits I grew up fishing in. My buddy and I kept the pegs at the local tackle shop and wal-mart bare of them every year. When we started fishing bigger lakes we couldn't understand why they "didn't work anymore". It's a pond thing. We tried all the available inlines we could get our hands on but the #2 Mepps is IMO the hands down winner.
  4. They haven't "curtailed" them completely cuz there is one over/around LO alot. I assume its the highway patrol.
  5. You get caught sneakin' a pee at Bennett and it's highly likely. Playgrounds, public parking lots and all. All the judge is gonna hear is "he exposed himself in a park"..... Boom! you're doomed.
  6. I don't care how much you cubicle dwellers enjoy "peeking in" on things at Bennett, the thought of fishing while being voyeured is beyond offensive to me. It's just creepy, period.
  7. Was burning a rattle trap across a shallow flat and had a 12" LM hit it, then a 5lber ate him head first and was throat hooked by one of the exposed points on RT, pinning the nose of the short fish to the throat of the big one. I had to "rip them apart" to get my RT back and separate them, and they both swam away fine when released but the big fish lost alot of blood and probably died later. Kind of a sad ending to an exciting moment....but what can ya do?
  8. Move that red bead 1" in a Northwesterly direction and you'll find another place to "get skunked". LOL
  9. Consider where the fish will be in the near future (spawning areas), and concentrate on the channel swings that are adjacent to spawning habitat.... like the red bead area. One key thing to consider and always pay attention to is the angle of the sun (how the shadows lay) on any bank. Mainlake structure will become less and less productive as the water warms (as a general rule), and then will become more productive again post-spawn. In my mind a river channel where the flooded river bed is deeper than the fish are likely to be (like the green bead area), might as well be ignored as being a "channel bank". The actual channel has no significance.....any steep bank with cover or structure can be equally as good as a steep bank with a channel in 50+fow.
  10. Green bead marks a Mainlake channel swing (could be a bluff, but in this case it really isn't ) Red bead marks a creek channel swing (simply where a creek channel "swings" tight to the bank).
  11. Do you have the title?
  12. A good dog works great.
  13. Potential Locations Rock Harbor = not Silver Sands = not Lake Breeze = ? Do you mean Breezy Point? If so... 3stars. Knotty Pine = Rustic, low key.... possibly too much so for a non-fishing spouse ...3 stars Kon Tiki = no knowledge Point View = ...4 stars
  14. This ^^^ Plus, my desire to fish frequently outsizes both legal possession limits, AND freezer space.
  15. Oh! Well who knew! It "sounds" way worse than that. You know what I meant though, right? LOL
  16. So folks truly wouldn't decimate the spoonbill population if selling roe was allowed? See y'all! Told ya!
  17. Hey, when sheep are scarce I guess you take what you can get.
  18. I like the way this guy thinks.
  19. Here ya go! http://www.mytractorforum.com/forumdisplay.php?s=9fde88d4c9287208073fbfdedf8e72a8&f=14
  20. "Type" might be designating between vertical or horizontal shaft, in which case the flywheel would (should) be the same. Pffft. Who am I kiddin'..... I have no idea. But I bet there's a B&S forum online somewhere, chok full of guys that could hook you up with more info than you even want to know.
  21. Not sure of what significance the "type" is, but if you cross reference the ignition coil and the starter part numbers between the two and they are the same then the flywheel "should" be the same. I don't know much about mower engines specifically, but I would think that crankshafts, starters, and flywheels are pretty standard among B&S engines of the same size.
  22. Axle may have just slid back on one side throwing it out of square. Inspect the axle to frame attachment and it should be obvious where it USED to be.....just move it back. Loosen the bolts and use a come-along, then tighten it all back up good.
  23. Sad news there. Hang tough Ol'boy. So sorry.
  24. Ok, I was wrong. My mind has been changed. Sorry for being so hard headed and rebellious against the seemingly endless amount of petty regulation. It's all for the betterment of society as a whole, I'm sure.
  25. Yep there's alot of poverty. Snagging IS work. You only get to keep a few, and there's no guarantee that the ones you get will be loaded with eggs. Either way you're right, rules aren't gonna change so it remains yet another illegal activity to declare WAR on. I just think it's rediculis and kept illegal for the wrong reasons.
