For non-melanoma skin cancers there is some stuff called Curaderm BEC5 that has pretty impressive, and lasting, results. The medical community in the U.S. hasn't approved it (possibly because it would put alot of places out of business) but it's used in Australia and in the UK with a 82% success rate. Kinda pricey, but I plan to at least give it a try. Sounds way WAY better than the process the dermatologist is recommending for me.

Well I certainly appreciate the thought, and I love ya for it, but yeah I'd rather you save the prayers for someone more deserving. If the holy one didn't want my lip to rot off then he'd have prevented it in the first place. Don't go jacking up his plan. We tried several streamers that looked more "shad'y" (profile-wise) on the Norfork tailwater. Even tried Davy's little shad thing with the foam back and mylar tubing body, but for whatever reason the old school pointed nose streamer got hammered more consistently. Got lots of followers on shad patterned muddlers, and such, but it was seldom that one would just charge at it and immediately EAT IT without hesitation like they would the Baxter Blonde.

In typical "blonde" style.....the tail and underwing are 2 separate pinches of Marabou (if you do it all with one longer piece of marabou it will foul around the hook every other cast). The bottom is ugly.....it never mattered, so we just half-assed wrapped some Krystal flash over the tail tie-in area. If you wanted to be all fancy you could do a nicer job with yellow floss. But honestly I don't think it matters. A hint of YELLOW or Chartreuse is a real thing though, we established that for sure. We actually used yellow..... but the closest I have now is chartreuse. Whether that matters is debatable. Swing it, or slow-strip it, with rod tip twitches. 👍

Okeechobee is ate up with them. I don't understand why they always run open exhaust. Certainly they could quiet those things down !

What have you learned so far ? I finally went to a dermatologist to have this stubborn lip injury analyzed, and of course they determined that there was a basal cell carcinoma having a party with it. The medication they want to subscribe has definite side effects that I simply refuse to tolerate in my life, and the stuff hasn't been out long enough to know what the lasting effects are. When I told the doctor that I had serious reservations about following through with that recommendation.......she got all pissy and butthurt. What she doesn't seem to understand is that if the cure is going to reduce the quality of my life worse than the condition......Why would I not choose to just live with it until a better alternative is found?

I seldom see or hear about anyone fishing shad streamers or Clousers at Taney. Why is that? Years ago a buddy and I hooked up with an old dude named Tom Able down on Norfork, and the 3 of us came up with a streamer we called the Baxter Blonde......We absolutely hammered the browns, rainbows, and cutty-crossbreeds on that fly. Basically black & white with some yellow flash material. Marabou and bucktail. I could whip one up and post a pic if anyone is interested. None of us had a sink-tip line at the time so we just fished it with a BB or #1 split shot about 15" in front of it. We literally put on a clinic fishing that thing anytime shad were coming through the gates.

Took my dog with me one time, and while I was launching the boat he was sniffing around the access doing godknowswhat. About 2 hours later I was pitching jigs behind docks and the dog started yakking. Up comes a slimy #1 black/blue pork frog. I put it on my jig, caught a 3 pounder and one other keeper. 😂 True story.

I'm not a chemist, but I've restored more outboards than anyone in the Midwest. I can assure you that water spots either wipe right off with a light scrub,.....or they continue beyond the clear, into the paint at least 1/4 its thickness. You don't, however, need to get them completely out. Paint, clear coat, and wax adheres to calcium just fine as long as it's smooth, clean, and you can't feel it. They also do not detract from a used motors value one little bit. 🙂

He's serious, it's not hyperbole.

The painted finish on outboards is a 5-step process. Prep-sol Aluminum oxide primer Paint Clear coat Wax The wax and clear coat goes away really fast, it's no match for heat and sun exposure. Water spots (calcium deposits) that don't wipe away easily are adhering to the paint....the clear coat is already gone. So anything that removes them is also taking a bit of paint too.

I may have already told this story here before, so if I have...Sorry, cuz here it comes again 😅 I had chickens when the tornado hit, and all but one rooster got blown away. His name was Roady and boy was he pissed !!!! During the cleanup he stalked and attacked several of us, especially anyone that climbed on the bobcat or on a backhoe. A friend's wife and her 2 kids stopped by to deliver us sandwiches one day and Roady severely flogged one of their daughters, scarring her up pretty good. I grabbed my .22 out of the wreckage and was going to put him down....but the rifle had been beat up badly during the twister and the scope was off terribly. Finally one of the crackheads from around here asked that if he could catch him, could he have him? "Yes, by all means! Have at it. Get that MFer out of here !" He stalked and eventually tackled that Rooster, wrapped him up in a torn up piece of Bimini top....and away he went. 👍 Roady the attack rooster was no match for a Grav'ite high on methamphetamine!

My aunt had a yard full of chickens when I was growing up, and the thing that always freaked me out was that a yard full of chickens will peck around in a circle, and as soon as one would poop.... another would come along behind and EAT IT ! My aunt always said "they eat ticks".....Oh BS! You could hand feed those chickens ANYTHING......but try to feed one a tick.....No! They don't want it. 🙄

Let me just go ahead and be the first to make this confession........The real reason why I'd never want to own a little dog like that is because my masculinity level would plummet as I fell in love, feeling the need to cuddle and protect the stupid little furball. 🙄

I would have 3 rods on deck to begin with. A skirted twin-tail grub on a 1/4oz. head and 10# flouro. A suspending jerkbait on 10# flouro. An A-rig.....or a 3.5-4" swimbait. South facing chunky banks where schools of shad are present. And/Or halfway back into medium sized coves. Look for fish to be either right on the bottom structure, or suspended 1 to 2 boat lengths off the bank.....and holding 3-5' deeper than the schools of shad are. Never fish UNDER suspended fish, as they are way more likely to be looking up than down.

Oh how fun ! This is becoming more & more like a round of international sporting clays ! They should make it an Olympic event.
