  1. By choice possibly? The Don doesn't play y'all's PC BS game. 😂
  2. That's what I'm saying ! Funny how they always wait until everyone that knew how things REALLY went down, are dead and gone.... before they start teaching (and preaching) about it. And you must answer the tests a certain way in order to get that all important "diploma".
  3. Well hell, that's not bad at all. The only thing I'd be concerned about is hitting "add to cart", then pay for it..... THEN you find out it's on backorder FROM JAPAN. That was the situation on the Precision Blend 70 I referred to. We gave it 3 months (12 weeks) then I decided Screw It! Cancelled the order, and it took 7 weeks for my money to reappear in my account. Never again!
  4. That sounds alot like the old "find the shad....and you've found the bass" thing. Shad are freakin' EVERYWHERE! 😅
  5. No no. My youngest daughter has a thing for sloths. So when I think of stuffed animals, naturally a sloth comes to mind first. Besides.....I freakin' hate monkeys.
  6. You're probably right. That story sure grabbed my attention though. 😂
  7. Actually Columbus did nothing but bring VD and clamidia to America. You wanna celebrate THAT ?
  8. But I'd much rather rig you up a pissing sloth.
  9. Actually though. If you look at the indicator discharge port, you can loosen the outer nut, turn the inner piss hole part with needle nose pliers so that it pee's off to the side, and then tighten down the outer nut to hold its position. Whoever rigged your motor either didn't know that....or skipped that part. It is supposed to piss off to the starboard side so you can glance over your shoulder and see it.
  10. Of course. Bring it, and I'll make it piss wherever you want it to. I modified one of my customers pontoons so that a little stuffed monkey sitting on the back deck is pissing off the starboard side of the boat. It's kinda cute 😊
  11. Internal powerhead/valve train components that are either plastic or made from other lightweight composite material (you won't find that in your car/motorcycle/ or old Briggs & Stratton lawn mower....and that's probably why it lasts long enough to burn up 8 sets of spark plugs before it finally gives up the ghost). But they are trying to conserve WEIGHT....so that's what they use whenever they think they can get away with it. Just not a smart move, for longevity, especially on an engine that relies on lake water to control its operating temperature. Once that engine even mildly overheats it will never run the same again.....and the company is off the hook because "HEY, YOU OVERHEATED IT! It's YOUR fault". Add to that a computer controlled system that attempts to balance the emissions via sensor input... and you have a system that is practically impossible to diagnose when rough running and loss of power occurs. My business model/plan is to not spend a single dime on advertising. I let my happy customers do all my advertising for me. I can't be anyone's hero that brings me a 4-stroke outboard (just the honest truth). And that's why I don't like them.
  12. Well, depends on how much you like the boat, and the negotiated price. You can always part out the motor and repower the boat.
  13. I'm curious how it was determined that the center crank bearing had failed without tearing it down. I'm tempted to buy it just to see. Did that price include a new crankshaft?
  14. Dude, there's no shortage of trucks. A good friends sister has a trucking company in Wisconsin and she struggles to keep all their trucks loaded and moving down the highway. If you're having a hard time finding a company to move a load I can probably help you out. If one of her driver's says "Oh no, I won't drive THERE because that area defunded their police dept."... then I guarantee she (after laughing and spitting coffee on her monitor) will simply call another driver that gladly will.
  15. What defunding SHOULD do is cause these departments to look at the scope of their efforts and say "Well, we can't enforce all of these laws, so we must now spend our time on the laws that are most important". So rather than burn up all their resources making arrests that do nothing but help feed lawyers and create mountains of useless paperwork.......maybe they'll spend their time making arrests that ACTUALLY do help their communities become safer.
  16. Anyone here that is even considering purchasing an 11 year old 4-stroke outboard..... kinda proves that nobody is listening to ME. So nope, I have nothing useful to add. 😎 When I said that I have yet to see a 4-stroke powerhead last longer than its very first set of spark plugs.....I was being serious.
  17. What cities are actually doing it ? Truckers making decisions about where they will and won't deliver to sounds like a good way for some truckers to loose their jobs. I see no problem with occasionally putting the lawdogs in check every once in awhile. Might help keep a nice balance.
  18. For an inexpensive fly rod, this one here is EXTREMELY hard to beat....even at quadruple the price. https://www.piscifun.com/products/piscifun-sword-4-pcs-fly-rod?variant=40282779728&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuJz3BRDTARIsAMg-HxWTCTqWeayhTOUP8epRlwwro1KvMk30mb9wcIiJcNJ4997XK_Gi6zUaAmEHEALw_wcB
  19. Just buy a new rod. The Hobbs creek stuff is pretty inexpensive.
  20. Sadly it wouldn't matter if you did. The parts are not available. 😟 Ran into the same situation on a Precision Blend 70 not too long ago.
  21. Don't quit fishing, just quit hanging out with your MIL. 😅
  22. I have a completely refreshed 1988 20" shaft Evinrude 35. Was hoarding it for a future Jon boat project, but I'd sell it for the right price. I'll get pics if you are interested.
  23. I haven't built a gear rod in ages, but the selection of available fly rod blanks has sure deminished over the last 10 years. The last rod project I had planned got cancelled when I couldn't find a suitable blank. I miss the old SCIV blanks, they were the best IMO. Nothing that's available today can compare.
