  1. I'm hard on lawn tractors. I buy old junkers from these crackheads around here and fix them up just good enough to get the job done. I usually just rip the motor covers off and toss them aside, but I'll not do that anymore. Had the motor cover been on there I wouldn't have trashed my clothes and gotten scalded with hot 30wt. So after the explosion I put the word out and had 2 fixer-uppers delivered before dark😅. An old Murray with a 17hp Briggs OHV, and a Craftsman with a 12hp flathead. What I really want to get my hands on is an old manual start rear engine Snapper, those are built like a tank and climb hills better than anything ever made to cut grass. So if anybody here has one, or knows of one for sale....hit me up!
  2. Mercury, in all their years, has never had a good 115. Johnson/Evinrude has never had a bad one. The Yamaha ProV and Vmax 115's are still running strong. But the newer 4-strokes have lots of fuel system problems. I only have one customer with a 115 Suzuki 4-stroke on a pontoon. It seems ok for that purpose, but it accelerates so slowly that I wouldn't want it on a fishing boat.
  3. Now that's a boat you can do some serious fishin' from! Phil's might be an 18, it seems like it on the videos.
  4. My wife's BFF is an ATT manager, and according to her the ATT corporation spent big money fighting this tooth and nail....but lost. Apparently it isn't good news for them. 😅
  5. I guess if your just drifting down the middle and making short casts over open water, then ok, go ahead and sit down next to your minner-bucket. But if you're pitching/skipping under overhanging limbs, shooting under cables and dock walkways, or winding up and making bomb casts with a 1/2oz. lipless bait or a Carolina rig.....How do you do THAT sitting down? I won't even mention double-hauling a fat streamer with a sink-tip. 😊 Noway man. Skinny boats are for drinking beer, smoking cigars, and drifting Glo-balls under a bobber....and I'd rather just stay home and mow the yard. 😅
  6. Just stood in the yard and watched the rocket train go overhead, and my mind is completely blown. They are launching 60 of these rockets every other week for the entire 2020 year, at a cost of 50million per satellite....and the life span of each one is under 5 years. Now supposedly this is being done to provide broadband internet to the globe, and this is supposed to be lucrative enough to fund a future Mars exploration. I'm calling full scale BS!!!! For the cost of this program alone you could surely fund the Mars crap. Selling internet access to people in under-developed areas is NOT going to break even on this deal, much less result in a profit. So..... Whaddaya think is the REAL reason for this ? There's gotta be more to it.
  7. It is my understanding that a true assault rifle is built to handle extreme heat, and is built with loose tolerances to keep on chugging them out in extreme dust, cold, mud, ect. Therefore not at all among the most accurate flat trajectory rifles. Hardly even worthy of a decent scope. In other words a REAL assault rifle is not what you wanna be shooting at coyotes with, and isn't going to be much fun to shoot at the range. It's a saveyerass killing tool. My neighbor is an AR15 buff....and he is fighting glitches with them all the time. Definitely NOT what you want when you're in a real gunfight.
  8. No thanks. I only sit to fish when I'm bankside soaking catfish dip bait.
  9. I started to say....I only know one thing that will cause a shotgun to blow up, and it ain't the guns fault... But then I remembered seeing a Remington 1894 blow both barrels at the same time at the trap range and what was left could have fit into a shoebox.
  10. Of course! 🙄 At least when a 2-stroke grenades it doesn't shower you with hot oil !
  11. What, in your mind, would make a boat "river specific"?
  12. https://www.hogislandboatworks.com/index.php
  13. Beats having a 12.5 HP Briggs & Stratton blow up in your lap.
  14. Not a fan of fiberglass Jon boats. Since the introduction of UHMW I'm not even sure what the alleged benefit of a glass flat bottom boat could possibly be.
  15. I like it. It's on the way. 👍 Are we just going to add the pics to this thread? If so then everyone involved can act as judges. I don't forsee there being any drama.
  16. Sounds like fun. I'll play. My bump boards only go to 18". Who sells a good board that goes to at least 24" ? Preferably one that's marked in 1/4". I'll get one ordered. If you want to ensure the catch was made during the intended time period just announce a "number" Friday evening, and that number has to be included in the fish pic.
  17. Tulsi Gabbard is sharp, but for some reason they kept her out of the debates.
  18. I prefer to hear the man's true genuine thoughts. I appreciate not having to read between the lines. Elicits way more respect from my point of view. I don't require the refined and carefully scripted version.....and I'd rather not pay for one. I feel like I actually know the guy, and that matters to me. Give me a real person everytime. 👍 You can save that utterly proper, emotionless rhetoric for the NEXT president. It's 2020 now and we get it THIS way for awhile longer. Thank goodness! 😊
  19. Y'all are so used to being bullshitted and given false confidence that now you NEED it in order to feel safe. Those other douchebags weren't any smarter....they just had speaches written for them so that you THOUGHT they were.
  20. Smart people often overlook simple solutions. Do you know for a fact that it won't work? No you don't. I think it would be hilarious if it did. 🤣
  21. One should never jump right past simple solutions. Why waste a whole year of research, spend trillions of dollars, and shut down the entire world when a few shots of moonshine and a couple of Marlboro's will rid your body of a harmful germ ? If we can easily kill it when outside the body, then killing it while in the body doesn't automatically need to be such a difficult hurdle to overcome.
  22. You're used to seeing a lower cowling (makes the shaft look shorter). That's a 17" shaft, and you can see I have it shimmed up 3/4". Those old small diameter prop motors are the best for running shallow rocky rivers. With the motor tilted up you can run them in 10" of water and still pull cooling water.
  23. A few already are. I saw a few bass beds 3-4 days ago in the back of a little cove. No fish were on them but the males are obviously fanning nests. We still haven't had our main spring rain event yet, so alot can change in the next week or so.
