  1. Bass and crappie both were paired up on beds today. Beds were in 10" to 4' of water. More dense in the backs of shallow coves but I saw plenty behind docks along steeper banks too. No need for stealth....You couldn't run those fish off their beds with a boatload of hand grenades. I used a Texas rigged 4" tube, and weightless Senko to get a limit of 2+ pounders. No big girls for me today. Tried dragging a C-rig awhile but there's too much mossy gunk to fish it shallow.
  2. If the cylinders do not receive lubrication via the injectors (fuel supply) then clogged fuel injectors will not damage the engine.
  3. You should be able to find "a few" right there in the back of the ramp cove. They are likely to be gooduns too! Launching the boat is optional.
  4. Ahh, walleye talk. I'm no help there. ?
  5. BBing ?
  6. What gigger/bowfisher could pass that up ?
  7. I never thought about Kentucky's spawning before the LM, but I suppose it's quite likely. Looks like I might get out tomorrow to see if anything has changed up this way. I'm really not in the mood for a crappie slaughter just yet, but it sounds like I'd better get in the mood pretty quick....or I'll miss out.
  8. Oooh man, There are a couple guys on here that are sharpening their talons and preparing to dive bomb you for that "statement".? I can already predict what they are gonna say. Things like:. How do you quantify that? And "Where's your proof?" And then, the crusher......"I bet you can't even read a guage".
  9. With all due respect.....When you see a fish in the house with the laundry, it's not an unreasonable assumption that its gills got dried out and might as well have been eaten. In reality though, no worse than a weigh-in line and a parade around the stage.
  10. It's white bass Jesus ! ? There should be another Easter in February now
  11. Well I hate to sound like a curmudgeon..... But river fishing has been going on since way before guages and the internet. Maybe this is a sign that we've gotten too soft and rely too heavily on things like that at our fingertips. I have been fishing/floating rivers since the late 1960's and never started monitoring the guages until 2001 Can we no longer survive without computers and our cute little mobile devices?
  12. Water coming up would be a good thing. Water coming up...and then rapidly being pulled back down would be bad.
  13. I caught a quick limit that weighed 14.7 yesterday, pitching a jig behind shallow docks. I wanted to hit some steeper bank areas but the wind was just too rediculous. A Carolina rigged lizard on slow tapering points and along gravel/chunk mix banks should be working great within the next few days, if not already. As soon as they stop sucking the lake back down AGAIN, the crappie will be running the banks and you won't be able to NOT catch a good mess.
  14. I'm blown away that you are back home already. Around here they don't fire up until after 4:30pm. My WB filleting always takes place in the dark. Good job!
  15. The 235 just went bye bye, no longer available.
  16. I get a kick out of these bad-to-the-bone crappie guys around here that say they won't keep a crappie unless it's 12". The funny (to me) part is that once filleted and fried there isn't a 3rd of a bite difference in the size of a 12"+ crappie fillet and the fillet from an 11 incher. The 12+ just has a bigger head & tail.
  17. Clear as mud. So as long as you end the day with one fish short of a limit, you can do all of the culling you want ? Otherwise once you release a fish from your livewell you shouldn't put another one in there for the rest of the day. No way to enforce that unless an agent is in the boat with them all day, so it's kinda redundant I guess.
  18. It is indeed a hybrid, but it does look to have more striper than white in it's genes.
  19. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6k when it's all done. Will have a 15 month full warranty. I have controls for everything. The 18'10" Champion will take the 235. It actually doesn't weigh any more than a 150, just has quite a bit more torque. It is actually a 2.6 liter XP (The high performance version of the 235). No hole shot worries with this beast.
  20. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6k when it's all done. Will have a 15 month full warranty. I have controls for everything.
  21. Well "sanctioned" means to authorize or allow. Me and my 4 buddy's are allowed to say "he who catches the most/biggest fish gets to drink beer for free all night". Nothing illegal about that, it is authorized and allowed. So how, exactly, do you have a "non-sanctioned" day of fishing ? Cuz I want one of those, it sounds sinister and right up my alley. Who's up for some Non-Sanctioned Fishing ?!!!!
  22. Also have a 1989-90 Evinrude 175 XP coming soon, but I haven't had a chance to check it out fully yet.
  23. And then there is this one... But boy I'd really have to stick it in your a$$ on this one because if it goes then I don't get to go fishing for awhile. But hey.... Everything I own is for sale ??
  24. Here is yet another one.... This one needs some serious refreshing but the powerhead and lower unit are good. I gave the customer an estimate and he almost went into cardiac arrest. Pretty sure he'd sell it very reasonably but it does need about 2k in ignition and fuel system work.
  25. Also will have this one ready to go in a month or so.
