  1. Yeah I had a couple that got a second hook in the side. No worse damage than all these "fizzing" guys are doing though.
  2. Yep, Johnny Borden use to live in the neighborhood, he fished every day and every night, and brought every fish over 3# back to his dock. He did that for at least 6 years. He wouldn't even release his fish on tournament days, after weighing in he'd put them back in his livewell and take them back home. You could actually get away with that back in the 80's. I'm sure that had alot to do with the excellent fishing around Gibson point.
  3. I appreciate the invite. Because of the nature of my work it is near impossible for me to plan on or commit to anything. Plus I'm kinda on this crusade against hauling around and relocating fish. I have crowed about it so much that if I fished a regular weigh-in tournament now I'd be the biggest hypocrite ever. ?
  4. Tetering right around 50° in the Gravois all day. I also noticed that the lake level was on the rise today. Truman must have taken a healthy dump.
  5. Nope. Back when the Sluggo was a hot new thing I weighed 22-2 in a club derby solo, and believe it or not all of those fish were males(?) guarding fry. Up until today that was the biggest weight I ever racked up all by myself. I've had quite a few 19-21# sacks....but I always had some help from a good partner.
  6. I have WeekendWarrior to thank for that, he's the one that set me straight on it. ? Gotta give credit to that little red square bill too, that sucker got hammered everywhere it was supposed to.
  7. Yes it should go all the way to full throttle if it is in gear. Sounds like it might be a control box or throttle linkage issue. If you wanna swing it by I'll figure it out.
  8. Hmmm,. Well the cable can't lengthen. When the motor is not in gear it will not throttle up all the way to WOT unless you have a hot foot. I want to help, but I'm not 100% clear on what's happening here.
  9. Nothing wrong with that. It will definitely be done sooner that way.
  10. I probably could have only had 16-18 if I didn't pull out the A-rig. I wonder what the OMTT guys were throwing? A-rig is a no-no there. 30# is freaking awesome!
  11. Beat my personal best weight while solo today, by a little over a pound. All released right where they were caught. Here's the weights Started out on the shallow flats early with a square bill and a Redeye shad. When the sun got straight up I went to channel banks with the A-rig. I feel like my arm is about to fall off. Great Day !
  12. Assuming the crankshaft is ok It can be rebuilt good as new for under 4550.00 (15 month warranty). The powerhead you're getting is a reman anyway. Why do they not wanna go that way? Testing/cleaning injectors and pumps is simple stuff.
  13. What???!!! Did it throw a rod through the block ?
  14. Wasn't me. I debated on that word but figured it was ok in that context. This is why I'm not a moderator. "Rube Goldberg" just didn't have the right ring to it. My apologies to whoever had to sweep up after me.
  15. I'm thrilled that I never got into sports in a big way. All of my same-age buddies that were big-time athletes growing up.....They can barely walk now, and are always either healing up from or preparing for another surgery. It's always a knee, shoulder, hip, or a back. 50 years old and the dudes are already spent. Bummer!
  16. Yeah!!!! I'll talk Birdies or Shuttlecocks all day long....... But this the only "ball" I can relate to
  17. I'll know after tomorrow, but haven't a clue right now. I'd guess 45ish
  18. Don't pay any attention to ^^^^those^^^^ knuckleheads. They are just being funny and don't even know that a right at the Oak tree actually WILL take you to Possum Hollow......But that ain't where I am. I'm 3/4 mile south of the Gravois public access, If I whistled you could hear me but it's a bit of a jog by road from RH since we lack a bridge on this end. If it turns out to be the shift interrupter switch I can just talk you through it.
  19. I'm lost now. Y'all started talking about golf and I bailed. Refuse to read back through it too. ?
  20. I just use my pocket knife. Box cutter razor knives are the clumsiest things ever, I hate them for anything other than opening boxes.
  21. I wouldn't feed you bad info about boat/motor stuff. Actually they say it should be min.70° but 80°+ is better. I did install one below 70 once and had to babysit it for hours as the edges kept wanting to flair back out. A heat gun or blow dryer would help if you're doing it in cooler temps..... But if it was me I'd just wait for a nice hot day, set the strip out in the sun to get good and soft, then rock & roll. Seriously though, those strips are alot easier to work with when they are nice and warm, or even down right hot to the touch.
  22. Best analogy of 2017 so far. ??
  23. Need to know what your idle RPM's are (engine rpm while idling in the water in neutral, or in neutral idling on muffs). There is a shift interrupt switch that might be the culprit but you have to verify proper idle speed first.
  24. No real need to be leery, a 25hp with damaged cylinders is very rare. The motor only has 2 cylinders and 1 carburetor so when all things are not right then it simply will not run, so it saves itself. About the only way to destroy a 2 cylinder outboard is to run it without oil or let it overheat to the point of a total meltdown. And hey, even if it does have cylinder damage.....It isn't all that expensive to rebuild.
  25. She is attracted to you because you smell like a cat ! She won't have anything to do with me, the snooty spoiled rotten black hefer.
