  1. Well thanks for the kind words, Paul. I don't mind at all. I get alot of enjoyment from this place and I'm glad to have something worthwhile to share here.
  2. Seeing blatant pollution into lakes/rivers really sets me off. If I was mayor of Fenton I'd tell everyone to quit flushing until the treatment plant was back online and get some people busy fixing it like yesterday. Block those lines off and let it back up into their houses for all I care, but DON'T just allow raw waste to flow into the MFing river. Jesus Christ ! We can go back to being concerned about global warming after THIS is straightened out. But for now this should be priority one in that area.
  3. Because it was socialized, living there for a year sucked ? How come?
  4. It seems to me that if you give the wealthy more money not much of it trickles down, they just invest more. They don't seem to do much with their extra money, they just hoard it. The more they have the happier they are. It's never enough. Sure, several generations down the line eventually that money gets pilfered...but it takes a century (and some irresponsible heirs) for that to happen.
  5. I don't mind helping folks that can pass a drug test, and that don't use their EBT card for soda, chips, and Zingers.
  6. Does anybody throw more than one ?
  7. I have plenty of unpaid bills to share, who needs some ?
  8. I responded on the Lake O forum.
  9. You may have missed the water tube when reassembling, or it could be a bad grommet (top OR bottom of the water tube). Or you may have dropped the impeller key. There is a service bulletin on 1982-86 two and three cylinder Johnson/Evinrudes for re-routing the indicator hose to run up and over the cylinder head to prevent an air cavity at the thermostat and pressure valve. If you need help with it I have time. 573-569-5406
  10. Hmmm, well if you are a poor Have Not then it might sound pretty good. So doctors and lawyers make less, and Outboard mechanics make more. I like that idea. Who's job would it be to determine who has how much of what ?
  11. I can be pretty lethal with a 9' flyrod. I can pretty much take on anything but a ceiling fan.
  12. At least we all agree that idiots are bad. I wish there was a mandatory background check to see which kind of idiot everyone is, and we should all wear easily visable markings so we know who we're dealing with at all times. Different colored noses or something.
  13. You've been hanging with Chief too much. Totally agree. Idiots with guns are what form my attitude about CCW.
  14. I think all people who carry have a series of scenarios in their head of how it's gonna go down if they ever have to use their gun. No matter how many different scenarios you think you are mentally prepared for, it will be a totally different one if/when it happens. The greatest possibility is that there will be other people/houses/cars behind the guy you wanna shoot. Or there might be two or more of them. All armed. Or the one physically attacking you isn't armed...but his buddy is. Statistically criminals don't kill people who are running away (only cops do that), so your best self defense tool just might be your legs.
  15. Well, you emphasized ALL FISHING. I love ya, and everything, but be darn if you're gonna vote in barbless buzzbaits for ME !
  16. Let me just cancel that vote right now.

    What's Cooking?

Yeah ! And then there are these people that bitch about people bitching. Those are the worst !
  18. ....discover a way to avoid it.
  19. I think it was a comprehension problem. They hit water....but the road didn't end....so they kept goin'.
  20. Yeah! Draw your weapon and loudly shout "Aaaaalriggght, who needs to be shot here?" And the first one to say "Him" gets it.
  21. Interesting little story that kind of relates..... Last week my daughter locked her keys in her vehicle while away from home. She calls the cops in the town she was in and asks if they can help, but was told "no". She thinks awhile then calls back and tells them she is a single mom holding a child and has locked her keys in her car.... They show up in 6 minutes and immediately unlock her door. The officer mentioned something about her being a single mom and she says "Oh did I say that? I'm sorry. What I meant to say was that I pay the same taxes as a single mom holding a child". That's my kid right there!
  22. Maybe the best use of available resources designed to protect you is to call the law and request a cop to accompany you everytime you go somewhere. If you truly feel your life could be in danger then surely they won't refuse.
  23. Well I know that I couldn't go about my everyday life with a gun on me (or a vest for that matter). In and out of boats, crawling under dashes and going upside down in a bilge. I guess if all you ever do is sit in a car or walk gingerly around, never having to do anything physical or do any real work, then it wouldn't be such a hindrance. I can't even carry a phone in my pocket or on a belt clip, much less a friggin' gun.
  24. I wondered about that, because criminalizing having a gun while drunk would make anyone under the influence of alcohol completely without defense. If you were at home drinking beer and someone broke in you couldn't legally defend yourself. Although your declaration of "self defense" while under the influence would undoubtedly create a genuine conflict in a courtroom. Better just hope that if you ever have to defend yourself that you are 100% sober with no trace of alcohol in your system.
  25. I know a bunch of guys that carry, and at anytime you offer them a beer they'll take it. It just seems to me that by carrying 24/7/365 you are setting yourself up. If your afraid of getting shot/stabbed then wear a vest. Leave the guns for hunting purposes.
