  1. Even though you're standing in front of that motor I can tell it's a Merc. Nice fish, Bubba!
  2. I don't disagree with any of that, but I still saw one.
  3. I'd like to catch one on a Whopper Plopper.
  4. Well, in order to kill one ya gotta see one, add in the odds of having something handy to kill it with when you see it, and again..... I'm not surprised. I had a splitting maul in my hands when I saw one, and I can only throw that thing about 30 feet. Probably only 1/3 (if that many) of the sightings you hear about are genuine and true because people are nuttier than hell for the most part. 2/3 of them obviously have no business possessing anything capable of killing a panther with.
  5. Well back when John wrote that article there was still some white foam. Nevertheless the info is still solid, I caught some pretty nice fish today pitching docks with a white chatterbait. Docks I caught fish on today ranged from shallow flat docks in 5-7' to deep channel docks with 20-30' under them.
  6. That would be awesome, Jerry. I ain't holding my breath tho.

    rain

If the noise from the rain or wind prevents them from being able to hear something creeping up behind them then they will lay low, otherwise they will move about like they normally do.
  8. There are alot of critters in the woods that are common as can be, yet I never see them on foot. Skunks come to mind. They are all over the roads DEAD but I hardly ever see one walking in the woods or fields. I've only seen 2 live bobcats in my whole life. It's kinda insane that I've seen more cougars/panthers/tigers running wild than I have our own native bobcats. Hell I've NEVER seen a whippoorwill. Or if I did I didn't know what it was. But they sing at night so I know they are out there somewhere. There are plenty of things living in the woods that very seldom get observed, so it's hard to seriously doubt anything. I turned over a log once up on top of a ridge, a long long LONG way from any constant source of water and guess what was under the log? A friggen BULLFROG! What the hell was he doing THERE?
  9. I was still catching white bass like crazy last year in mid-December. I'm hoping for a repeat this year but it ain't looking so good. We need a good rain here.
  10. She has a headache and he is just helping her up the hill.
  11. If you ever paddled past a crane rookery on the river and heard some of the crazy sounds they can make you might think you were about to be attacked by a whole colony of Bigfoot's.
  12. While we are telling crazy animal stories..... I have a Llama story and a gorilla story too. Yep I said gorilla! Running loose in my neighborhood. I had a neighbor that bred pronghorn antelope, monkeys and various other exotic animals and sometimes they'd go on the prowl. Sometimes it was funny, and other times kinda scary. He didn't do felines though. In 06 my neighborhood was hit with a F2 twister and everything from peacocks to a big male bull gorilla was running free and all freaked out. A few were never recovered and assumed dead.....but you never know !
  13. The black one I saw was in no hurry to go anywhere and it was really bold to even be close to where we were at. Chansaws, earth moving equipment, and concrete trucks had been running there all day. I was the first to spot it but I made sure one of the other guys saw it too, and that guy lives right around the corner from me, doesn't drink or do drugs and goes to church every Sunday. He'll back me up 100% that it was a large (but thin/skinny) black "panther" type cat. Nothing else it could have been.
  14. Ewww, those flukes look sick ! I wanna try those. What are the odds of making a floating lizard? I'll give you a model of one that is no longer being produced. It was a killer and now I can't get them anymore.
  15. Yeah I don't think the black panther cats migrate here on their own, and I doubt they find others to breed with. Obviously escapees from some nimrods somewhere.
  16. Yeah that was at the 22 mile marker on the Osage side, the dude actually had 2 big cats and fed them crappie. His dock was loaded with brush too.
  17. I didn't either. And I'm not sure what constitutes a "panther" but I guarantee you that there is/was at least one big black cat in Morgan co., so I sure can't dismiss the other sightings.
  18. I made a bad shot once too, but I went and rounded up a posse and we stayed out until 2am and found the deer. Blood on a leaf shows up alot better when using a flashlight. After that fiasco I never took another iffy shot. Just because I can spilt a soda straw at 30 yards during practice doesn't mean I can do it from a stand when it's subject to jump the string.
  19. Me either. But apparently if they can catch it they can eat it.
  20. I like it when they go down fast. Good job! A kid up the road has stuck 3 but has yet to knife one. I'm about to quit speaking to him.
  21. It wouldn't work (stock) for me. I'd have to move the seat BACK and UP. The hull looks good though.
  22. I do remember that. Remember saying there was no way he could swallow that keeper.......Then down the hatch it went ! I wanted to go kick him in the gut.
  23. It is blowing over the ridge from the Southwest and clearing every single leaf off my property. How cool is that!
  24. I've seen a cougar, a panther (I guess....it was big, black, and tall in the rear like a hotrod Monte Carlo with a tail as long as it's body), and also saw a young white Bengal tiger all here in the LO area. The tiger was an escapee and returned on its own to its owners, but the cougar and panther were wild as hell and probably still out there somewhere.
  25. You don't think sometimes that too much importance is put on it ? Those 18-22 "kids" that are playing their hearts out are doing it for WHAT ? By 35 y/o a good percentage of them will be technically disabled alcoholics and/,or drug addicts. I happen to know this because the previous generations of them are all around here. It's like watching the "fails" vids on YT. Sure it's enjoyable but..... I'll agree to the ignorance of all kinds of racing.
