  1. To hell with the grenade, it's even harder to find those red striped socks. That was some quality s#!t wasn't it? That red dye hadn't faded one iota, and the elastic even still looked good.
  2. Yeah, I've heard how compliant they try to be.... Always wanting to please.
  3. Can't imagine what would keep them from it. Planning a trip to Pomme?
  4. Wonder what he caught it on, crankbait, jigging spoon ? What are the odds that he only disposed of One? Are they gonna examine the sock for DNA (doubt it was a new one) and scour the lake floor for more ?
  5. Kieth, what are your strengths? The bass don't know which body of water they are in, so do what you do best. The water is cooling down and by next week there will be strong patterns both deep and shallow. Shad are everywhere so the fish don't have to expend much energy to feed so regardless of where you're fishing you'll probably do best by trying to elicit reaction strikes vs. trying to coax fish with slow retrieves or repeated casts to the same spot. Fish can and will be positioned around shallow docks and wood, suspended under the deeper docks, and ambushing shad from brushpiles at any depth from 4-20ft. FWIW, My personal confidence baits for big fish this time of year are a 3/8 jig and craw for pitching shallow stuff, a 5" swim bait for fish that are suspended right under the docks, a DD-22 on 12# line for bumping deeper brushpiles, and a full size Super spook. Hope you get the bites you need (You Will) and good luck at the following Championship
  6. Have you tried shaving your head and pretending to be a rich gay dude ? Just theorizing that what would keep older married guys OUT OF your boat might possibly fill it with bikini clad hotties.... It's worth a try.
  7. In the video it looked to me like everyone was inside the boat. I didn't notice anyone riding that out on the swim deck, but yeah, if he was he's a flipping idiot. Pretty cool that there is water here that's rough enough to crash an off-shore boat if you make a mistake at the helm, yet with some common sense you can navigate it in a 16' jon boat.
  8. How did they classify the crime as "1st degree" with no evidence?
  9. There's no "seating law" other than you have to be between the gunnels. Hell the driver doesn't even have to "sit". There was no evidence of laws broken in that video, so any charges filed using it are just lawyer food. I believe the occupants (at least some of them) were from the Lake Media crew. At least they are the ones claiming to own the video
  10. I just can't hear the word "Schlappen" enough. Sometimes I wake myself up, crying it out in my sleep. Have you experienced this, Brian, and how do you cope?
  11. I'm a die-hard Chevy man, so it pains me to say this..... That is a killer fish wagon ! Congrats!
  12. LMAO as the eagle flys behind the flag. And y'all really think your "votes" are counted? HAA!! What a sick, pointless, and expensive game it all is.
  13. To hell with the rod rack, Let's see that badass truck!
  14. Recipes like that crack me up. Would it even matter what kinda meat you started with? The recipe should just say...."Kill something (anything), then...."
  15. Whereabouts is it located?
  16. Yeah the annual "Shootout" never fails to give everyone a dose of hotrod fever. From a week prior to a couple weeks afterwards the mid-lake area is full of people trying to fulfill their need for speed, which is fine if you're an experienced operator and know your boat. That's not always the case though.
  17. Kinda looks to me like Stud made a trim tab mistake. That's what he was "blipping". But whaddo I know
  18. Saw a bassboat hit a pillar of the grand glaize bridge once, luckily it was only at a fast idle speed but it still crunched pretty hard destroying the trolling motor and the whole nose of the boat back to about 2 feet. I assume that he was putting along jacking with his electronics and just forgot there was a 2000 ton piece of concrete in the vicinity. Dude, if you're reading this I really felt bad for ya.... but I gotta confess that I laughed about that off and on all day. Sorry but WTF? LOL
  19. We hit it hard today in the Gravois and only had one solid fish, and darn few shorts considering how much area was covered. Thought about launching out of Mallard bay this morning but glad I didn't now, since it sounds like the funk is lakewide. Noticed lots (tons) of grasshoppers today. Time to put the pitchin' gear away for a bit and hit the creeks with the flyrod and foam bugs.
  20. The headwaters of the Miss. and all of its tribs should keep you busy for awhile.
  21. Yeah whenever a storm is brewing they go all apocaliptic. But on a normal day they'll tell you the wind will be a lovely 8-10mph breeze out of the SSW.... then when you get out on the water it blows at 20+ Never fails.
  22. Be darn if I'd get into a gun fight over some money that's insured, and isn't even mine. What makes ya think someone is gonna walk up on ya and try to take it, verses taking you out from 50-60 yards and grabbing the loot on their way out of there? Wouldn't that be the way to take something from a dude that's wearing a leather jacket in the middle of July?
  23. Has anyone taken the initiative to tear one down and learn what is causing them to seize up? I'm not a Shimano guy but I'll take a few SWAG's.... Spool shaft level-wind hydraulic lock? (drill a tiny vent hole so it can push the moisture out). One way bearing hanging up or skidding? (squeeze it just a bit so that the cage is not perfectly round, or pry out just one of the needles) You should be able to remove the head/bail assembly and substitute a washer or something similar in its place to determine if the binding is in the drive, or the driven mechanism.
  24. Chief, LMFAO ! Took a few seconds, then it hit me.
  25. It was sporting. It's all fun and games until somebodys weiner falls off
