I believe the new Ultrex motors have an external GPS puck that you mount beside the motor that references with the GPS in the head of the motor. Im sure that works way better than just the single GPS in the head. The MG has one in the head and the base, im sure thats why the spot lock is more accurate.
Motorguide XI5.... problem solved and cheaper, Holds boat perfectly in place, Main difference is it doesn't have an LCD remote. I never look at my remote when fishing anyhow it is small and easy to blindly hit the buttons you want. I can look at my motor from anywhere on my boat and know what it is doing verse grabbing the remote to look a little screen
Ive watched youtube videos of such boats, Taney is huge compared to the skinny water those things navigate that i have seen. that will def hack some fisherman off if it happens
After diving in Bull and TR it becomes pretty apparent that there are more bass than all the other game fish combined. Everytime you look behind you, there is a bass following you around.
What rod do you use Ham? I think you said a month or two ago it was some sort of Browning in another thread. Im with Phil i cant seem to cast jigs very for with 4lb
I would do the opposite, i like my chirp up front and my non chirp at the console, I can see strucure just fine with the non-chirp. I love the chirp up front, can really see your bait when drop shotting
I dont think very many people actually target stripers on Bull. I always think of them as a real fun accident when i catch one. Every once in a while you hear of a big one being caught but not much as far as numbers.
If you can go to upper Bull and find and catch a mess of stripers i would think your far ahead of most people
Thats how i felt on stockton last year in the tin boat tourney. Still pissed at that lake, fried my troller, caught one lousy fish and beat the crap out of me and my boat
