  1. I have read some of the same stuff with some of there other baits also. I personally have only used a few but i plan to try some more in the future
  2. Well he was gripping the ladder on the back of the boat. Granted it wasnt safe but very suprised it was thick enough to stand on
  3. H20 stuff at academy is fairly cheap and way better than the BPS brand. Way better alternative if someone wants some cheaper nice cranks.
  4. about 10 years ago my Brother had a big sailboat in Kimberling on an end slip that sat in 30 feet of water and he has pictures of him standing on the ice next to his boat.
  5. Isnt a $10 wart called a Rock Crawler?
  6. In the construction Biz when a home owner was complaining about time we used to say " Do you want it done right? Or right NOW"
  7. I got to Grove Marine in Oklahoma yesterday at 10:00 and traded my 60 fourstroke for a 75 optimax they swapped it and i was on the road at 2:10. But yeah ,they knew i was coming too.
  8. I have the 80lb XI5, best thing i have ever got. The steering is not noisy at all and it is pretty fast. The foot control is pretty tough to get used to, it isnt anything like a cable control. Took some time to get used to it. The spot lock it dead on. Makes fishing in the wind much more enjoyable. The foot pedal would fit in a recessed tray but it has a prop on off switch and an anchor switch on the pedal that is handy to hit. And it would be tough to use those buttons down in a tray. When i get a fish on i usually will just hit anchor with my foot and fight the fish in without getting blown off your spot. I use mine a lot for trolling. Last winter i could troll 7 hours on a charge pulling cranks between 1.5 and 2. I still havent linked mine up to my lowrance they dont tell you about the $50 NEAMA start up kit and the $250 cable that you need to make it work I will never go back to the cable steer, If all i did was bass fish and run banks i would go cable. For off shore stuff you wont regret the Xi5
  9. Flexible???? maybe more just running around. I threw a few other baits. Jig, red eye shad, square bill, SB. But the wart is all i could get a bite on. Water color is perfect in the james for a wart. Ive had great luck this fall using bright colored warts instead of the natural colors. A buddy and i caught somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 one day, i was using red and he was using orange. But not one keeper that whole day. Fun day though
  10. Nope, i saw it there. I actually launched at Flatt creek resort. I was running around in a little red bass tracker
  11. Ok were in the same"boat" just wanted to make sure it wasnt my computer
  12. Anybody else having trouble getting on the BBC forums?
  13. I knew the crappie deal was a long shot, Caught some last week on Bull and i know a guy that is killing them on brush in Bull. I was hoping but they just arent back there yet
  14. Started at Flatt creek at 12 ish water temp 51. I was hoping for some crappie tried some brush and nothing tried to troll some flats and nothing there either. Put away the crappie stuff and started throwing a wart. Caught lots of bass only two keepers and lost another couple that would have probably hit the 15" mark. Mix of spots and largemouth. 1 keeper Smallie too. Best bite for me was in rip rap under the bridges. But also caught a lot just running the banks. Shad were in the channel back in the creek and back in all the coves. Not much of a pattern just covered water and picked some up here and there. All my bites were soft, all of a sudden you would just feel some weight. Talked to a buddy down there and he had caught a couple nice keepers and a spinnerbait water temp out in the lake was 54. Took a few pics of nice one
  15. prepare for a crucifixion
  16. I agree isn't deer season when people shoot deer legally
  17. I dive Diamond City area a lot and i never see them deeper than 40. We see blankets of them in 25 or less.
  18. How deep can those things live? Because all summer pool was 40' deep maybe they didnt live through it .
  19. My trolling batteries died about two hours in so all i had was the big motor or i would have tried somthing in those balls. Think i had some corrosion built up or somthing and they didnt take a full charge. Batteries are less than a year old. I gotta get out on the road for a week for work, but if i had some decent days i bet a guy could catch a lot of nice bass and a nice stringer of crappie in that creek right now
  20. Yep, flicker shads seemed the best. Racy shad was the best color, Tennessee shad and uncle rico all caught fish
  21. wind wind and more wind. To much to catch crappie on brush. Managed 1 that was 13 before we decided to just troll some cranks. Ended up catching 5 nice crappie and and a monster blue Gil for the grease. Lots of little bass and Two fat keeper spots 2 nice largemouth and a decent smally that we let go. My scales said the best 5 were just under 11 lbs. also lost a great big one at the boat crappie were about half way back in the creek trolled in around 25 feet most of the day. Occasionally we would get out to 40 or 50 to get around some trees and we still got some bass out there marked huge balls of bait in the back of the creek, so thick my Lowrance couldn't decide if it was the bottom or bait. The nice bass came close to the bait All fish came on bluffy type banks Couldn't get anything or even mark any on flatter stuff water temp 62 air 60 windier than a sac of buttholes
  22. Haha. Thank you. I guess you love them as long as you don't own them. Anything else in that particular motor I should look for?
  23. Im sure hung on a rock is right about it mainly being about keeping the number of people on the water to a decent number which makes perfect sense. When i went last winter it was in the 20's and 30's and i was the only guy out, i wouldnt dare do it when its busy (you would just be asking for trouble). I called the appropriate people and talk to security so i didnt feel i harmed anything or anyones feelers that day. I have a little jon for that lake but being that cold i figured its a lot safer to be in something stable. As far as doing away with any gas motors i dont agree with that at all. Lots of guys that have boats for this lake were going down there way before the "fishing kayak craze" or before you could run to wal mart and buy a kayak for cheap.. Also if kayakers are worried about a 6hp wake they probably need a new hobby We did catch a ton of bass on jerkbaits last winter it was a blast, my buddy caught a 7lber. Ill try to upload a couple pics. Kinda bummed i cant get my smaller boat in this year since there is no ramp. I guess i could but it would be a pain
  24. Looking at repowering my boat and pending a compression reading im ready to do it. Im looking at an 2008 75 optimax. Just wondering what kind of compression im looking for. I know all the cylinders need to be fairly close but am i looking at 100's, 120's, 130's. I have done some research and havent really came up with a solid answer anywhere. Thanks in advance Wrench. I know your not a merc man but they are willing to trade my 60 4 stroke without me totally getting reamed
  25. I put my tracker with a 60 in there all the time last winter. Took the prop off and tilted it up. Security came by about everytime i was launching and said it was fine as long as i didnt have the prop on. I also called the boat house and asked them and they said it was fine too.
