M&M; we have met Champ and Donna a few times so Champ won't scare her off. -
Ultrex vs Xi5 Minn Kota vs MotorGuide GPS Lock
Hunter53 replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
The ultrex works just the same as the fortrex except the foot pedal pushes easier on the ultrex. If anything the pedal pushing easier makes the ultrex turn quicker than the fortrex. The ultrex is NOTHING like the old/other electric motors on the market! -
Ultrex vs Xi5 Minn Kota vs MotorGuide GPS Lock
Hunter53 replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
It will work for the transducer. You still need Bird units for some of the other functions though. I have lowrance units and the functions I am missing out on by not having bird units are not a big deal to me. -
Have fun and get it broke in so you can get back to fishing! Man it gets old riding around breaking in a motor. LOL When we got our boat we came down to TR to break it in. Spent most of one day and some of the next doing nothing but driving the boat around. Went from Kimberling way up long creek to way up the white, then back and way up the james multiple times. LOL We did get to see a LOT of the lake that way though. Just wish it had been warmer at the time.

Through a mutual friend I went duck hunting with one of the TV stations weatherman. He seemed like a good guy with a sense of humor; so I asked him to tell me truthfully how far out they can tell me what it is gonna do. He said 24 hours at the most and any farther out is just a somewhat educated guess. Said he could forecast wind maybe 36 hours out. So I asked him why in the heck they spend 15 minutes of a 30 minute news cast on the weather then?! LOL He answered back and I quote; "the old people like it". LOL LOL -

The Ultrex will turn just as fast as any foot control troller. It will turn as slow or as fast as you push the foot pedal. -
Ultrex vs Xi5 Minn Kota vs MotorGuide GPS Lock
Hunter53 replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
Yeah Bill you are talking about the Ulterra not the Ultrex. The ultrex deploys just like a Fortrex and steers like a foot control motor. The ultrex also has a upgraded spot lock that keeps you closer to your spot than the other electric minn kota motors. You need to play with a Ultrex; you WILL love it!! The spot lock alone would/should be a guides dream as it will hold you in place while rigging or helping clients. We will be down at Kimberling from the 21st-5th of may. If you have some free time you are more than welcome to come hop in our boat and try out the ultrex. Shoot me a PM and I will get you my number. -
Well thanks I guess. You cost me some more money! LOL

Ok I will have her sign up. Hopefully we get in early enough on the 21st to feel like getting up early on the 22nd. -

She would sign up but since she wouldn't be an active participant on here (she just doesn't do forums; not even facebook) that just doesn't seem right does it? -

I will see what everyones thoughts are on this. I really don't want to ruffle any feathers! I had told her she couldn't fish it since she wasn't a member but thought I would ask. I could have her join; but I don't feel that would be right either as she doesn't get on any forums and would just be joining to fish the tourny. Maybe it would be best if we didn't fish the tourny but maybe showed up to weigh-in to meet some of you all? -

Wife and I will be getting into Kimberling on the 21st. The wife is not a member of OA; can we fish it since she would be with me? If she is allowed to fish it and we get there soon enough to figure out how to get to Eagle Rock from Kimberling; we will try and make it to weigh-in. How long does it take to drive from Kimberling to Eagle Rock? -
I pointed out the hypocrisy of the owner of BBC once in a thread. I got a nice PM that threatened to ban me if I kept "picking on him". LOL I find too many good deals on the for sale forum so I let it go. AL (the owner) is a liberal douche that can't handle the truth when it is thrown in his face so he goes all dictator and censors or bans people!!

As far as spawn goes; here is what a fisheries biologist in Nebraska said about fish spawning.............. "Are the largemouth bass in Florida the same as the largemouth bass in Nebraska?I am not referring to northern-strain versus Florida-strain bass. Are the bass in Oklahoma or Kansas the same as the bass in Nebraska?Largemouth bass from each geographic region can and usually do have their "own genetics". Those bass in Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma, or Nebraska are best-adapted for survival in that area and part of that adaptation is that they spawn at the time when they are most likely to be successful. Obviously, southern-most largemouth bass spawn first each year and the progression of spawning activity then moves north as the year passes. There are a number of cues that can influence spawning activity. For many of our freshwater fish, I believe that the amount of daylight or photoperiod is one of the most important cues. Because of that, spawning will tend to occur about the same time each year with some variability based on weather conditions, temperatures and maybe a host of other factors. In most years there is a lot less variability in the timing than many folks think.I should point out that there is a progression of spawning times for largemouth bass and other warm-water fish across Nebraska. Small waters in southeast Nebraska will have spawning activity first and then it progresses across the state to the north and west over a period of weeks. There may be bass spawning in northwest Nebraska a full month after they started in southeast Nebraska. While we are on this topic, let me make a few other comments about spawning behavior. For most species of fish, the males come early and stay late. You may see male largemouth bass exhibiting spawning behavior like territoriality, nest-building, trying to "herd" females, etc. a couple of weeks before any real spawning takes place. Every spring there are pronouncements that the bass are spawning that are often at least a couple of weeks ahead of any real spawning behavior.Never forget early spring is a seasonal peak for big bass, one of the best times of the year to catch big bass, because those females do quite a bit of feeding before the actual spawn."

That and duct tape would be kind of hard for the warden to see through. LOL
-
What can I say; it is cheaper than buying actual laminate material. LOL
-
What I do with my paper licenses to protect them; use the wide clear packing tape and laminate them. I first scale the size down so they will fit in my billfold. Cover the front and back with the tape and then trim the tape close to the edge of the paper.

Fishinwrench; there are a whole lot of us amateurs out there. We are all just unkown as we all just fun fish. Up here there are very few tournament anglers. Heck I have fished a total of 3 big bass tournies and if you want to count it; one MLF type deal between my wife and I and James and Donna. LOL The deal with James and Donna was WAY more fun than the big bass tournaments. LOL

I use these https://homebrewedoutdoors.com/shop/cylinder-drop-shot-weights/ Good price so doesn't hurt as bad when losing a few. They also have the ball type if you prefer those.

You can buy straight from the factory if you buy a Charger. They don't take trade-ins though. Charger is the best rough water boat made!

Any suggestions on who's good with a sewing machine?

I would check with Aurora Canvas in Battlefield. They make a great boat cover so I would think they could do whatever you would need.
