  1. Wrench might have an idea. My skills are limited, but I'd try a boatload of JB Weld before I replaced it.
  2. I was shocked that MG finally addressed this. The new Tour mount is built to match an MK or an MG hole pattern. Takes a little fiddling. Haven't opened the box on it yet, because the used spare I found seems fine. Might return it. Just makes sense you'd want to make it easier for people to switch from the competition's motor to yours, as a manufacturer.
  3. Had to reuse the factory piece. Turns out the cutouts don't match evenly enough for the round version, and too minimal of a difference to hole saw without shredding things. Wasn't in the mood to fiddle with opening the hole more gently.
  4. Mercy.
  5. Replacing it with one of these two, depending on what wiggles together better. Factory piece, minus the right angle garbage, plus a rubber grommet. Or this round computer cap doo dad.
  6. Well, that's something, I suppose.
  7. I have no idea. Why not just have some sort of grommet/boot that it would run straight through without bending the wires? Makes no sense, but it did work for a long time. Have to figure out a better answer when the motors get here (yeah, bought two, for now anyway). One of the strangest parts I have seen on a bass boat. Has that over-engineered look about it, a solution in need of a problem.
  8. So, in case anyone else has this part...there's no clip. Or not exactly. The thing sort of snaps together around the wires, then expands back to lock it in the hole. You could push and pull all day with it snapped, and they'd never budge. No feeding it through from either side of the panel or plate. Not sure it's right, but what worked for me was squeezing the back with pliers, while using a screwdriver on the front to force it through before it could expand again. Then you can pop it open. Engineer who designed that needs a good stomping. It also puts a hideous bend in your TM wires. Almost looks like you ran them through a Z bender. You wouldn't think that would be good for them, but it ran for 15 years, and still sort of does. A look at it from the underside. Wires go in the notch, then make a crazy right angle bend to go through the panel. That cannot be good for wire. Obviously that's where the cap doo dad fits. Good clean fun right there.
  9. Great to hear it. Prayers for continued improvement.
  10. You are absolutely correct, I was missing that. Did have a Ranger guy tell me it has some kind of clip on the back that has to be opened. This one is so old it may be gone entirely. Sure didn't see any clip last night. Appreciate it, though, as always.
  11. I've got plenty of 6ga, no problem there. More concerned with keeping that plastic piece intact. It definitely feels brittle. Have an idea it'll be a bear to find a replacement.
  12. That's probably it. Might give it the dish soap treatment tomorrow, see that inspires it to move. Agree on the butt connectors, too, at home in the garage. But if you lose one at the lake, and carry a spare TM, the plugs come running to the rescue. Assuming they'll connect, and rain doesn't wreck them.
  13. They do run. Just a pain if you need to switch one out in a hurry. That cover Ranger used is an odd little deal. It has a real grip on the wires.
  14. Swore I'd never have another hardwired TM, and I may live to regret that. Never say never.
  15. Looking like I may have an issue with my ancient Tour 109. It's hardwired through the bow panel instead of a plug & receptacle. Anyone know how to get the wires free from this joker without breaking it? Looks like it should be simpler than it is.
  16. That's fantastic news.
  17. I've seen that movie before. "Hey, water is jumping!" Packs all the flip stuff. Gets to the lake...917, bushes out of the water (mostly).
  18. Just looked at the level link. 😃
  19. Obviously haven't worn it, for the aforementioned reasons, but I didn't see the Simms as an upgrade over my BPS set (not 100mph, think it's the PQ). Since, I've added a Frabill set, which is great, except for short leg zippers. The outer material doesn't soak up water like some of the heavier suits will. Feels more like the high end Cabela's.
  20. BPS was carrying Simms. High dollar kit. Also not fat boy friendly, at least when I tried it on.
  21. Hate to speculate, but I have a feeling in addition to speed, a lot of folks are a bit too glued to their graph screens these days. It's an easy trap.
  22. Absolutely loving my 917.7 right now.
  23. 😏
