    I troll 'em on leadcore for walleyes. Unfortunately, they also catch tons of bass. Less unfortunately, they also catch just about every other species that swims. And the factory trebles are Mustad Triple Grips, designed to hook 'n' hold when trolling with no-stretch lines. Good quality bait, easy to tune, has a wider wobble than fat-bodied bass cranks. Worth keeping a few around, both for trolling and casting.

    Au contraire, mon frere. Catching a walleye of any size is a feat. Bass come by the dozens 'round here--how pedestrian. Ha!

    Bass guys think of them as different lures (tubes, shaky heads, football heads, grubs, etc.--even Ned rigs and Texas rigs), but a jig is a jig. And walleyes love jigs.

    Uh-oh, saw the "W" word again. rps, are you out there? They'll probably be in midsummer pattern by the time school lets out for you this year.

    We were in the white Sylvan. Had 2 limits, all on Jigging Raps. Best depth for us was 38 feet, mostly fishing the tops of the schools. Also caught some on the mainlake, on the rim of the channel where it hit a deep point. 50-60 feet.

    Pretty well attended. They brought a full rack of extra chairs in, and it still was standing-room-only. Excellent info, and Bob's personality made it a quick, fun night. Thanks, Phil!

    I doubt that anyone urinates behind trees more than Conservation Agents do.

    I doubt the coves will be completely clear, but I'd guess that the lake will be fishable by midweek. Then again, down here in the Deep South, that sun can bepretty strong...

    That heron must be related to the otters in the Quetico. Thick as thieves, they are, because that's exactly what they are: fish-stealing sneaks.

    It was outstanding. I learned real stuff I can use to (hopefully) become a better walleye fisherman, from the guy who does it better than anyone else on the planet. Buster was unbelievably open about his approach and Bill was great at helping to amplify important points. An A-plus evening all around, and I really, really appreciate it. Thank you, gentlemen.

    For years we gave Buster (and Tim) our hard-earned money in those winter walleye tournaments. Every stinkin' year! Nobody else could come up with a consistent pattern to even make it close. This is gonna be good.

    Troller, eyedabassman said he was from Oconomowoc and fished eyes on LaBelle. But Geneva was MY home lake. Ever fish it?

    I've only fished for crappie 3 times on TR. Best so far: about 13". Funny, though--my all-time best crappie came from a totally unexpected time and place: Little Bay de Noc on the extreme north end of Lake Michigan, in November. 18-1/2 inches. Hit a 1/2-oz. jig with 4" sucker minnow. Totally floored everyone at the fish house.
