  1. Hard to find lump charcoal. Want American made not venezuala stuff from rain forest.
  2. Thanks. And you're welcome for all the help I give you staying in line.😲😁🎯 Oh he loves it.
  3. I've met a shipload of good people that have turned into friends from OAF. Saying yes to invites and meetups has made a positive difference in my life, and not just fishing either. I'd start a list but I'm afraid of leaving anyone out. It really is a great virtual place that I visit almost every day. Thanks to everyone.
  4. My stupid lawnmower wouldn't start until I turned the gas on. Neither would the leafblower.😡 But now, we have the Ozark annex of Augusta National ready for the weekend.😎
  5. It's not that big of a deal unless you jerk your hand out, then you can get scraped up a little bit. It's legal in Oklahoma.
  6. Not sure that's true. Just my opinion.😇
  7. Wind's been working good though. At least it would have been at my house.🎯
  8. Just to cause trouble, I want to chip in with the fact that my house is very well insulated and we have a ground source heat pump HVAC system. Which at the time of installation was less expensive than an air to air heat pump with LP backup. There was a nice tax incentive from the feds and the Co-op had a great rebate program too. Very comfortable, very reasonable annual maintenance and low energy consumption.
  9. I don't own one either. But at my age I won't even buy green bananas.
  10. You are aware that your power company is obligated to purchase any excess the system generates, right? Payback is not a simple calculation.
  11. Not my claim Homer.
  12. I need to see real numbers to buy 75 year payback.
  13. We are talking about windmills and cars, not shotguns.
  14. I dumped my boat there once due to getting sideways in a fast riffle with a big gust of wind that was blowing upriver. Made a cast, the wind hit and instant dump. Lost a couple of good rods and a box full of hard baits. It was cold in the springtime. Was glad for a set of dry clothes in a bag and stuff to build a fire. That broke me of the NFOW jones.
  15. Depends on demand and water levels. Hydro is really good at meeting peak power needs.
  16. How about all the armadillos cars kill.
  17. Now I'm curious. What parts of the source do you think are false? And why? Can you provide evidence to the contrary on what you find questionable?
  18. Finally, a legitimate objection.
  19. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, or so I've heard. If you don't like that source, there are lots of others available. I do know one thing for an absolute fact. If people weren't making money on wind generation, it wouldn't be the growth industry it is. The market never lies.
  20. Read the link.
  21. Nonsense. How Long Does it Take a Wind Turbine to Pay for Itself? - Semprius
  22. And about the Finley. I cross it multiple times every day and have fished it a bit. From Linden on down to Green Bridge and from Green Bridge to the park mostly. I've caught a few that were maybe 15" but not many that size. But I will say that river has a lot of smallmouth in it. I was wading down from Green Bridge a couple of years ago and caught 12 smallmouth on 15 casts out of the same eddy. Ned. Sorry John and Pete, no pictures, you'll just have to trust me.
  23. All it takes is a picture to have a mount made. Measurements are helpful too but not 100% necessary.
  24. Sounds like a good plan to me. Welcome aboard.
  25. Trout that are smoked, boned and then turned into patties are good. Otherwise they're something to eat to keep from being hungry. To my taste at least.
