  1. My grandson's feet in my boat on the 11 point. We caught a lot of nice fish on that trip.

    What's Cooking?

They never actually refer to the dish as pudding. It's "a pud". Always served to me with some sort of warm sweet sauce. Figs make a nice pud too.
  3. At your age and considering what you're going through is it possible to hurt more?

    What's Cooking?

I'm on fire tonight. A package of Hebrew National hot dogs, a can of Libby's kraut and two honey crisp apples. About a cup of beer, put the lid on and then in the oven at 350 for maybe 45 minutes or so to become heavenly delicious. So good with some mashed potatoes and spicy brown mustard.

    What's Cooking?

A very English style pudding. Nice.
  6. My ace number one buddy from the old USMC days through right now is from Omaha. He told me that joke in 1970. I've been using it ever since.😎
  7. Don't know about crows but I'd remember you. Hey do you know what that Big N on the Husker's football helmets stands for? Noledge.
  8. That's the right kind of person to be. Good job Sir!
  9. I wonder if crows have folklore with legends and memories that are passed down from generation to generation. If so, you could be part of it.
  10. You probably still have a reputation in the area. They can recognize faces and somehow tell other crows who've never seen you whether you are a friend to crows or an enemy. Amazing, at least to this hillbilly.
  11. Crows have a rich tradition in Native American and American folklore. You should watch on of the Nature series on Crows and how they can communicate information to each other.
  12. Crows are amazingly smart birds. I collect crow art and have a crow tattoo on my left arm. I guess you could fairly say I'm a fan.
  13. Academy used to have neoprene booties - basically neoprene socks with a flat rubber sole. I like them. Do pretty good keeping out rocks, especially so if you wear a regular pair of socks inside them. Do not know if they still have them or not.
  14. Just run the prop and drag now and again. You're tough enough. And you got kids.
  15. Canned trout made into salmon like patties is pretty good. Don't much care for them any other way. Canning them is pretty easy too. I need to do a batch one of these days.
  16. As long as they're not raised in a sewage lagoon they might be ok. I've eaten them and had good ones and bad ones. The bad ones have turned me off them from now on. I've had bad catfish too. Anymore, I want to see fish before it gets cooked. And if it ain't white, it ain't right. Unless it's salmon. Or swordfish. Or mackerel. Or.....
  17. There is nothing wrong with a put and take bird operation. I know the dogs enjoyed it the most of anyone there. For that alone, well worth it. Get your knee fixed, you'll not be sorry. At least I'm not x2.
  18. Not enough man, not enough. They are the worst to try tp pick too. Give me a duck breast filet. Turkey same way. You will never hear about me doing anything with a wild turkey other than breasting it out, making strips and then quick fry. Turkey legs are for at the fair where somebody else does all the work.
  19. Breast and grill medium rare. Peking Duck is a LOT of trouble. Starting with picking the dang thing.
  20. Stay off of Taneycomo unless you got some really good heart medications.
  21. I had an 18.5 x 54 modified vee jon. Would have been better off with standard jon or a full vee hull. Modified vee doesn't have enough vee to make a difference in any kind of even moderately roughish water. But it does cut down on space in the boat. Either get a jon boat or a vee bottom boat. Depending on where/how you fish the most.
  22. They can make some amazing soup with a bunch of fish heads too, can't they? Tell the truth.
  23. Great advice. Plus you can haul enough camping gear in a 16 to actually enjoy a float trip. And a second person comfortably and safely.
  24. That's a different sort of job, I must admit.
  25. I wondered about that too. I wonder if he lost it or sold it or something.
