I'm slow smoking a salmon side for lox and bagels for tomorrow early T-day. There will also be prime rib, shrimp scampi and assorted appetizers and sides. No turkey or ham this year.

I've got an enameled dutch oven too, but it does not go on the egg. Should have just used the oven. Live and learn. Something I really already know, but got a bad reminder.

I made a fatal error. Did this in a regular cast iron dutch oven. It picked up a lot of iron flavor due to the acid in the kraut. Do this in non-reactive bakeware only.

I'm reprising the polish sausage, kraut, potatoes and fruit bake. This time on the egg and with a bosc pear and an apple and with venison polish. I'll let you know if it's any good. Hoping it will be about right for kickoff of Bears vs. Vikings. Fire is starting now. Will use some hickory and a piece of alder to add some smoke.

I marinate a couple of hours in soy sauce, brown sugar, fresh ginger and fresh garlic. Then grilled over hot coals like a fine steak.

It was only four blown fuses on the truck, a bad LED light, one failed connection and a bad ground on the other light. Child's play. -

I get along better without a float whether jig or bait. When I do use a float it needs to barely keep above water. -

Of all the things I miss, I think waterfowling is the most. Loved staying at the granddad's house in Carrolton and hunting GP for a week at a time. Go get it while you can guys, it won't last forever.🙂

I've been pulling trailers for 50 years now. Maybe three of them free of any trailer light problems. There has to be a better way. I'm thinking battery operated LED lights with RF controller and no more wires or bulbs .
