    What's Cooking?

Joe is not going to like us posting pictures of cooking and serving and eating equipment and having fun. Fair warning.
  2. WOW!
  3. That's too bad, you will be missed. I hope you have been pre-habbing, it helped me a LOT. Best of luck to you on a speedy recovery. I certainly do not regret getting mine done and bet you feel the same way soon.
  4. If you're able to make it, I can just about promise that you will have a good time. And I can 100% promise you won't ever leave hungry.

    What's Cooking?

    Coolest bowl ever.
  6. Pretty much we all do.
  7. Lemme guess. Highway 125 Bridge.
  8. If comfort and stability is a factor for Mr. Babler, he can have a seat in my boat any time. It would be an honor.
  9. Bob isn't coming. It will be Lane, Tyler and moi Friday and Saturday nights. Looking forward to this. A lot.
  10. Our state Highway Department and many County Commissions are culpable in cutting off stream access points here in Missouri. It really is a problem. There are multiple places where there are no parking signs on both sides of county roads for hundreds of yards on either sides of bridges over streams here in SWMO. And multiple places where MODOT has blocked access to streams on highway ROW. Often done in the name of keeping out riff raff. To me, that's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. The public wants, needs and deserves stream access. Those are public lands and if law enforcement needs to get involved in a problem area, then they need to take care of it, not close it off to everyone. That's a lazy and very poor approach in my opinion.

    What's Cooking?

  12. Yeah, that's a big one. Didn't appear injured to me. Hope they released it somewhere wild.
  13. My crystal ball says BPS will go public within the next five years as a vehicle to assure Mr. Morris' family's wealth into the future. Goldman Sachs will like it when it happens. Fees and all that. The IPO will be even larger due to the inclusion of all the recent additions to the BPS brand. And I'm the kind of person who applauds success on the scale that Johnny Morris has enjoyed.
  14. The geese are heading south. First ones I've heard this year. But they're well known slackers who like to winter in Texas regardless of what it's like here.
  15. I don't really care all that much either but take perverse delight in the ongoing frustrations of Cubs fans. There's just something really cool about a good curse. Too bad about that one in Boston. But now that I think about it, losing another world series, in the bottom of the 9th with victory seemingly in hand, only to be vanquished yet again - well that would be pretty awesome.
  16. So do you still have a SD starter going?
  17. We've been inspired to make an Ava run. So we got that going for us.
  18. Ahh deliverance. Debate is over. But the bad news is Cubs are hammering the Dodgers to tie the series. Dammit.
  19. I've got the debate on. Need vodka.
  20. I like good whiskey, be it bourbon, irish or scotch. Vodka or gin and grapefruit juice is a staple. When it comes to Vodka, cheaper is better. Gin not so much - Tanqueray, Beef Eater or more recently New Amsterdam make the cut. Occasionally make a margarita. Don't use triple sec, but do use Cointreau. I only ever use the white tequila - that gold stuff reminds me of how kerosene smells. Beer I like the octoberfest styles, Miller Lite and Coors banquet. When it comes to wine I like chardonnay and old vine zinfandels. I find most cabernets to be too much oak for my taste. Have been known to own some dessert wines, ports, ice wines, marsala and moscato. As for what I'm drinking right now, it's a coke.
  21. I don't think I've ever been to the White River where I haven't seen at least two or three guides out with clients fly fishing.
  22. Hoo boy. I just ordered a new supply myself. 1/16 and 1/8. Same colors in each size. Black, black olive, tri olive, olive ginger with gold head, brown orange, tri olive gold head (I think) gray/white chrome head. If I were restricted to four dozen I would get 1/16 and 1/8 olive ginger with gold head and gray/white chrome head. I am 100% certain you will get conflicting advice.
  23. And expect plenty of boat seats available. Do come. It's a big river, plenty of places to fish and it really is a more the merrier thing. Great people and real fishing knowledge willingly shared. Plus good eats, fellowship and just an all around good time. Did I already say do come?
  24. Great write up. Nice fish too.
  25. Here's to your health Bill Babler.
