  1. Were you in AR or MO if I may be so bold? And is that an Okuma reel?
  2. I floated Rush to Norfork once. Quite the little float trip. Highly recommended. Other places? I'm doing a four day deal on the Eleven Point in May with two of my grandsons and their dad. Hwy 19 to Myrtle. Its about 32 miles which is my idea of about right for a four day deal. No hurrying and plenty of time to fish, camp and enjoy yourself.
  3. $4.99 at Tackle Warehouse. I just bought four and will send you one in gratitude for the way you have treated me over your jigheads.
  4. That is why I like those little eze lap sharpeners. You can put a point on a salmon egg hook with those little devils. My standard for a sharp hook is if it wont slide across a fingernail and tries to hang.
  5. Glad to hear it is feeling better. Need to keep you around to teach old dogs new tricks.
  6. Many happy returns Mr. Bill Babler.
  7. 100% agreement on weedguard. Good video. You've seen the little ball head jig I've been using. Really landed there largely due to a weedguard that I could trim so it would give good hookups and still be hang up resistant. And price. Those $3.00 each Gamakatsu finesse jigheads wore me out. And again, thanks for everything.
  8. I had a similar experience when we lived in Jefferson City. Going home after George Birthington's Washday trip. Pulling a boat and watching it try to pass me on I-44 about five miles west of Marshfield. Wound up going down into the median where the grass straightened everything out and then all cool calm and collected like, just drove back up on the highway. And then started shaking. Talk about could have been worse.... That was before they fenced off crossing into the oncoming lanes. Wow, that was my lucky day.
  9. Threads like this one are a big part of what makes OAF such a great site.
  10. That was a heck of a fine day, made all the more so by doing that in winter. Great job, all three of you.
  11. Interesting.
  12. Good Lord they really are beautiful fish. And so many of them. We have been truly blessed .
  13. Pretty sure I could still work up a big wide grin for one like that. Heck of a fish sir!
  14. This is the pale imitation of the real thing that I have been fishing with. This particular jig head and little piece of elaztech has only caught something like 50 or so fish, mostly smallmouth a few goggleye. Sorry about that Ham, Chief and Al, they are goggleye to this old hillbilly. Actually probably mostly sorry to Dave. No disrespect, really looking forward to some even better jig heads.
  15. Amen thithter. It kind of worries me too about how good it works and if one were into fish meat, then look out.
  16. Rattletraps. Don't forget rattletraps. Or flicker shad. Various sizes and colors.
  17. First in with the Ned. Seriously, do not go fishing without that capability.
  18. You did a lot better after you slowed down. That stupid thing is incredible isn't it?
  19. no need, just interested in that tree.
  20. If you think that's bad, check these out. My experience with them has been really good. But darn.... http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_G-Finesse_Series_Wacky_Jig_Head_3pk/descpage-SJW.html
  21. Gonna be another good time! Let me bring the potatoes and onions. I've got it down.
  22. I thought this thread coming up again meant that tree was a goner.
  23. I'll be there, Bob will be there and another buddy is dragging up too. I'm bringing Venison meat loaf. Bob is going to bring some more of that wild pig and some garlic bread. Jason is bringing some ducks and some deer steaks. Les, a sucker fry is never a bad idea, my vote on that one is an enthusiastic you bet! Bob and I are going to be there probably mid day Friday, we can do the meat loaf for Friday night if that sounds OK, then Saturday night look out.
