    It was quite the battle , she jumped three times . 3 or 4 runs next to the boat when I thought she was done . Deep deep dives trying to get into the trees . Every once in while you have those days on this lake that just amaze you.

    I’ll add to this . I also found a few deep fish today . The largemouth sure are healthy . I was fishing the same depth as dock . Only difference my fish were around cover. Also caught them on the damiki . Had my pb smallmouth today went 4lb15oz on the scale . I’m calling it a 5lber darn it

    I don’t understand the tree fish right now . A month ago I had 15 huge ones that just knocked slack in the line. All on the jig . Swinging by the trees . A month later there are still trees with plenty of fish . But they have zero interest in the jig now . I managed 5 today also . All early

    All this being said , I grew up minutes from fellows and have fished it a lot . I can tell you that the record fish is in that lake with out a doubt . I have had some on that just wreck bass tackle and steal your lures. They were really really big . I had one come from under our Jon boat and eat a spinner bait that had to be 50” it felt like the same size as the boat. It was eye opening , a little scary but mostly amazing .

    I did a little research , because my first thought was the fish is just too skinny . This was a picture of a fish not even 40 lbs .

    I wonder how many stay out there all day for a limit of 11 lbs of spots . Gonna need a couple big green or browns ones to win I think

    I’m going to say it will take less than 45 lbs to win it . Probably a combo of deep and shallow for the winner . I haven’t seen the winning fish up shallow but you can defiantly catch a few doing it. plenty of mid depth fish and deep ones . It will be interesting to see if its won how I’ve been fishing . I really think 17 a day is an overestimation . But if someone finds the right group you could easily have a nice bag . I don’t see them doing it for 3 days though . I bet the winner has a mixed bag in this one .

    It’s funny everyone I’ve asked about says “ there’s so much I could say “ or “ it will all come out soon …”Well I say let it out . They obviously pulled the rug out from under a lot of buyers . Their service was joke . Last time I went in I was treated like I was an annoyance for even being there .

    The jig bite has been so so light . It’s was amazing this weekend how light it was . We call it the wet rag lol We’ve caught 2 big flatheads in two days . So I bet you’re right .

    Watching live this morning. To my surprise live scope is playing a huge factor . Listening to the NY guy break down his spot is annoying . He’s outside the no wake at PB2 live scoping release fish . But to here him talk he found a pattern where the fish are moving up 🤣

    What I meant to say is the James is full of Springfields waste water , that brown is the poopy . I wouldn’t look at it let alone fish it in , especially with such a nice boat
