The forecast is for a high percentage of heavy rain for this area through Saturday night. Who knows where it will be heaviest, but if it were me I wouldn't plan on going.

Yeah you do have to float smart after this much high water. The important thing is to give yourself an escape when approaching blind spots.

I agree Ness the myth that companies simply make more money selling the assets is seriously flawed. What do the buyers do with all these assets that makes them more valuable? Why is it some companies are bought out and remain active? I know you all can't wait for my opinion, so here it is. Look at the industry, kayaks have made a huge dent in the light weight boat market. Outfitters are putting in kayaks and rafts that weren't around all that many years ago. It's not business buying companies and then sell machinery to make ???? It's the changing market!!!!

I'm no biologist so don't kill the messenger. It does make sense to me though because the approach of a front has been good to me more often then not. Something kicks up the action quite often. When I say kicks up the action I mean the fishing gets good without a lot of searching. Surely you have had those days where a storm is coming and the fishing is hot, then the rain hits, the catching dies and you feel like a lost dog in a rainstorm.

Yeah, before Truman and others LOZ was quick to open the flood gates, but it has stood the test of time. Watching the rader it didn't seem that there was that much rain in the watershed outside of the Niangua, but then what do I know.

On old 65? I've had a little over 9" in the last period of storms. 4.5 was the most in one storm. We're in a rainless hole, if that makes sense, and we always get less than areas around us for some reason.

I don't know about the upper, but the lower is chocolate. The feeders however, Bull, etc, are running pretty clear, but high. I would imagine that anyone fishing the lake would do well to stay close to the feeders.

I'm not complaining and my family has no illusions of being too good to haul our own trash to the dumpster. I know there are also 2 sites occupied by what I assume are full time "stewards". I understand what you're saying about measurements. I suppose what I'm saying is that possibly they could bring in the public in order to accomplish very limited maintenance in order to keep minimal services open. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the fan of the COE that I was 10 or 20 years ago. They seem to be more inclined to think of the recreational mission as a pain and a necessary evil. At least in some districts, It seems more prevalent in the LR district than the KC district. In fact with my limited knowledge I can't think of a KC district complaint.

Nice big report, but any hillbilly in this region could have told them BS was the only logical choice for water storage. Beaver doesn't even have enough room for effective flood control, TR has too much civilization boosting the economy and BS has a huge flood pool that can spare some. It sucks for us who fish it because everything will either change or disappear. The question still remains, why the need after 60 years? Why this big change to support an old fishery of non native fish?

Low pressure would be the key, not high. It certainly coincides with fishing being better with the approach of a storm system which is a sign of low pressure.

Vernon I don't see why a contract would be a problem? It would work both ways with the individual having some security in knowing he wouldn't be ask to leave without notice. They use RV contractors in camping areas, so I don't see a problem. KC district uses people year around in at least one park. Maybe Little Rock should communicate.

Stats show that 91.67% of flooding happens next to water. Be prepared.

I'm sure the ground is well saturated pretty deep now and most of this will head straight to the rivers and creeks. There just hasn't been any break to let any soak in much more.

Bill there is a growing number of full time RV'ers who are retired and willing to do a little for what amounts to free utilities. I'm sure they wouldn't be interested if it were a job, but to be eyes and ears, do some trimming, not a lot of mowing, maybe pick up a little behind some human pigs. Maybe there are fewer then I think, but maybe not.

Well they wiped out the Powersite tailwater. I suppose if they want to improve the habitat the COE should buy the dam from Empire and tear it down, hows that for a plan. 20+ miles of new trout stream.

Depends on how much I suppose, but a 3600 or 3500 with generally get the job done. Has always worked for me.
