  1. Different year different lake so far though.
  2. They held it there all winter and it sure didn't help the bank fishermen. Contrast this year we need some of it. Wishes, wishes , wishes. After they dropped it it made for a good spring level though.
  3. Me too. Beaver could use a little more water and the pothole a little more flow however.
  4. Back in '08, I think it was, we had $20K worth of damage to the house and vehicles. Lucky for the insurance company we were gone and had 2 vehicles with us.
  5. I'm going to head down today after it warms up, it looks like it is time. I just hope it isn't the frustration of last year.
  6. That's great. Bait or lure? Any hybrids showing up?
  7. I intend to use one this spring in some bigger water for hybrids, but only because it would be practical in my opinion. I don't see them in the rivers. I know many are using them for the white run around here, but because the white run is heavily dependent on location I didn't see anyone last year doing as well as the jig and plastic guys that were in the right spot. You can only use 3 hooks and I've heard that some simply add a couple of hookless baits to them or cut them. I saw that this year Yum is making a triple.
  8. You might pull up the NPS web site and check which parks have showers and the distance between each one. You might have to stay in a couple, like Tyler Bend or Buffalo Point and do different sections in day trips.
  9. Were you in Beaver?
  10. I might also add that China didn't have a factory employing over a million to make phones for us. A high school kid could work on a farm, mow lawns, fill those brown paper bags on Saturday, and do other jobs. Now it isn't possible in light of regulations and liability. It's no wonder kids have nothing to do.
  11. Someone posted up that they had caught a few whites and a nice hybrid. I don't remember if walleyes were the mix or not.
  12. easy. Remove the old one and buy cork rings to replace it with. You could go rings, or use electrical tape to secure the reel. It would take a little time, but nothing needing any special tools or skills. Rings and/or tape will give you a nice balance.
  13. As a generally rule you can fish it with hip waders. The two areas I mentioned would give you some room to roam and fish from shore.
  14. So Josh how is the creek looking, water wise?
  15. Maybe they just thought it was a record?
  16. It's quite the surprise isn't it. I caught one last spring above 160.
  17. I don't have a gauge up, but I would say between 3/4" and 1" fell here. TR is still low so there won't be any dumping for spring unless we get some gulley washers.
  18. If you're looking for keepers you might try the old downtown area, I assume you can still fish there. Depending on where you're staying, Empire park at Ozark Beach has lots of bank space and is open.
  19. 70's are on the way. Sunshine and a little murky water can change the water temperature quickly.
  20. From what I'm hearing it sounds as if they are starting to stage close to the rivers and creeks.
  21. It hasn't been around forever because it's a poor choice. If they have a down side it is in resharpening one. The edge seems to last several seasons, but resharpening takes some patience.
  22. Whew, glad to know it wasn't just me.
  23. Staging, it's a start.
  24. So do you have to supply the wild bees a queen or ?????
  25. It is early.
