I agree with you, Sunday was not a day to be out there, it gets to the point where it just beats you up,
-
The ned rig is one bait that I have not yet used, one day I am going to have to settle back and give it a try
-
I had a fellow and his son and daughter do that to me last fall while fishing whites, they said they have been down all week catching crappie, I guess they just weren't satisfied with what they had, I just left and went catching more elsewhere. Like Plug says, society isn't like it used to be

nice fishing Quillback, glad you got out there and got into them today, I never seen any beds over the weekend, I'm sure that is about to change though, I went and was throwing a senko Sunday early and had some takers, I really enjoy throwing that bait, should start heating up soon heh??
-
in my posting I mentioned I was catching them on a rock crawler, that was a mistake as I have been using a wobble head, Duh, to much fishing, not enough rest
-
nice fish Mr. Babler, Champ you are hilarious
-
amazing how many years of knowledge was just shared on this forum on using a spinner bait,
-
I don't know how you managed that wind all day Champ, I reckon when your catching some fish it makes even the worse conditions more unnoticeable. Good day for you two.
-
Another good bite this evening, I believe I had 8 keepers, 2 on a wobble head and all others on spinner bait. Here are a couple pics Good luck, be back in 2 weeks

Came down Friday evening, had a really good day Saturday on rock crawler and on spinner bait, think I ended up with 5 keepers, got on a pretty good spinner bait bite late that evening,, caught 6-8 non keepers then 1 very nice largemouth, then my reel fell apart and had trolling motor troubles with no flashlight, went back to dock to get organized, then went back and caught a few more non keepers then landed a dandy smallmouth, Couple pics from Saturday and none from Saturday evening, Got blown away Sunday then had to run to bass pro for Isolators for the trolling motor mount, repaired that on boat in dock, what a chore that was, I am glad a friend I new was there to help, thought about pulling the boat out but we managed, Got up today and was close to pla-port when I landed this largemouth, my friend was still at the dock so I went back and got this picture and went back and released her, the smallmouth I caught the nite before was in this size, I told Champ 188 Saturday I thought maybe 4# but I'm not real good at guessing weights, and caught more today on wobble head, going back this evening and see what happens, The rock has been good to me the last few weekends. Good luck!!

I caught one last fall at LOZ that would have probably went 6-7 lbs on a wiggle wart, thought I had a big bass for a bit, fun to catch, my 2 older brothers when they used to go to Tanny every Jan caught them often, and kept them, said they were pretty good, I myself have never ate one

Thanks for posting that,
-
its amazing how much water goes in quickly and how slow it comes back out. Funny stuff

Dave, the ability that the bass has to suck that bait in without knowing is pretty cool, you still feel the bump bump tick tick as it crawls along the bottom but there is a difference, took me a bit to figure it out, and is still tricky to detect as I have missed many, the challenge is very cool, as once you set the hook either you get him or you realized you goofed, and just snagged a rock, lol. It is a blast to say the least to try to figure it out.
-
funny you should mention drain plug, I probably shouldn't even post this, funny but true, last spring I got down to play-port one night and decided to put the boat in alone, never got in a hurry, but forgot to put the drain plug in, got over to the dock ready to tie up, under the lights and noticed the boat leaning bad, oops, better get back to the trailer, what a mess. First time and hopefully the last, thought I would share.

Bass Blind, after you run that hook through the front of your bait. lay the hook parallel, ( along the side of your bait ), and look where the bend of your hook is in conjunction with your bait. That is where you run the barb of the hook through, it should then lay flat when it is rigged, Your hook should then lay flat on the top of your creature bait, for added security I then (what I would call) skin the point of that hook just into the top of your bait for a bit more weedless protection. Good Luck and Nice fish.
